Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk

Chapter 384: Pleasant Cooperation

Chapter 384: Pleasant Cooperation

"Here is the drafted contract, take a look."

Once everyone had taken their seats, Gregory Nash placed a bound contract in front of Nora Northwood.

The signing was open-style, with reporters pushing forward, eager to capture something unique.

In reality, Nora had already reviewed the contract; today’s spectacle was mainly for the media, using their coverage to boost interest in the collaboration.

She signed her name on the last page of the contract booklet, her handwriting was elegant and refined, truly living up to the saying "words are a reflection of the person."

Handshake, ribbon-cutting... just some formalities.

As most of the guests started leaving, Nora’s smile became increasingly forced, her cheeks grew numb.

In her shell bag, the phone was buzzing non-stop.

Her intuition told her who was calling; she glanced around the room and said to Gregory, "Sorry, I’ll be right back."

Leaving the noisy main hall, Nora found a quieter corner.

After the phone had vibrated for half a minute, she answered, "Hello."

On the other end of the line, the man who was getting impatient heard her light voice and immediately relaxed, "Why did it take so long to answer?"

The two hadn’t contacted each other for over twelve hours; Jasper Sinclair had just finished a full morning schedule, unable to suppress his longing, he made this call.

Nora whispered into the phone, "Today is the signing with Galante, I forgot to tell you."

"Did everything go smoothly?"

"Everything went well; we’re in the final stages, just a media interview left."

"That’s good, you can always reach out to Jean if needed, I’ll be back in about three days."

"Are things over there sorted out?"

By "over there," Nora was referring to his parents.

After a barely noticeable pause, Jasper replied, "Not yet, but I’ve found some leads; progress is slow, it requires patience."

"Alright, I’ll wait for you to return."

Jasper felt like he hadn’t heard her soft voice in ages, listening intently, wishing he could memorize even the rhythm of her breathing.

"Have you missed me recently?"

"Yes."

Although the corner was quiet, people occasionally passed by, so Nora didn’t dare say anything too intimate, responding briefly.

Despite their public marriage, with her, it felt like a secret teenage romance.

"If you missed me, why didn’t you send a message? Since last night, there’s been no good morning."

Jasper’s voice carried a hint of grievance, strongly expressing his dissatisfaction.

"I started doing my hair as soon as I opened my eyes in the morning, got so busy I forgot, I’ll make up for it tomorrow."

"Let me see."

Suddenly, Nora remembered a few photos Megan Underwood had taken of her and hesitated whether to send them; she then recalled the contract signing ceremony was live-streamed.

She moved the phone away from her ear, sending the live stream link in their message thread.

"It’s live, you can watch."

The interview segment was set to begin in fifteen minutes; Nora needed to familiarize herself with the questions the reporters might ask, so she hung up quickly without saying goodbye.

On the other side of the globe, staring at the screen showing the call ended, Jasper let out a silent laugh.

He picked up his nearby double iced black coffee, the ice had melted significantly, diluting the coffee’s bitterness.

He took a few sips, the cold liquid sliding down with the movement of his Adam’s apple.
