Chapter 341: Inviting Ten Couples
Chapter 341: Inviting Ten Couples
The next morning, the weather forecast predicted light to moderate rain today.
The almost-arriving drizzle turned the sky above the city into a shade of gray, with dust everywhere on the streets that the sanitation workers hadn’t had time to clean.
Cars sped by, stirring up dust over a meter high in the air.
Nora Northwood sat in a rideshare car, listening to a radio announcement from the driver: In the next three hours, there will be heavy rain in the South District...
She didn’t pay attention to the rest.
Today, Nora wore a pine green long dress that perfectly showcased her curves.
Deep valley orchids, hidden fragrance and sparse shadows, couldn’t better describe her.
As she passed the front desk, Lily Sloan teased, "Nora, your figure has gotten better since you got married."
Once inside the mall, she was cut off from the weather outside.
"Stop joking, come with me to record some data."
"At your service, ma’am!"
Nora turned the essential oil blended yesterday into an incense form.
The way she handled the scented candles gave the illusion that she herself was a fragrance.
Megan Underwood approached with a cup of coffee and asked, "Do you plan to sell this fragrance to the public?"
The corners of Nora’s lips, which had been slightly upturned, relaxed into an expressionless line upon hearing this question, "I want to give it to Mr. Sinclair as a first-anniversary gift, not for sale."
"It might be a business opportunity— the special meaning you’ve given it could gain customer popularity."
Her underlying message: it could make a sizable profit.
This was the first disagreement since their collaboration, though it wasn’t particularly significant.
Nora lowered her head to sip from her cup of hot coffee, her lips and tongue dominated by a strong bitterness, which she savored until it transformed into a rich aroma.
She shook her head immediately: "I don’t want my feelings to be tied to interests, Megan, this time, I want to prioritize Jasper over VK."
Megan didn’t pressure Nora; she had always respected this younger sister by over a decade.
She would never forget the sparkle in Nora’s eyes when she spoke a few words.
"It’s your product, you make the call, I respect all your decisions, and wish that your relationship with President Sinclair remains as pure as the Magnolia Bell."
"Thank you, Megan."
Midway, when Nora went to the break room to refill her coffee, she found Lily slacking off.
She walked over, deliberately making her footsteps light, startling Lily.
"Nora, why do you walk so quietly?"
"How else could I catch employees slacking off during work hours? What are you watching with such concentration?" Nora asked, stretching her neck forward.
"It’s a Kyora dating reality show, so sweet it’s sickening."
Nora had always been indifferent to variety shows and was about to leave when a scene flashed through her mind, sparking an idea.
She stepped back and asked for the show’s name.
Before getting off work, Nora gathered all the staff in the conference room to share her idea.
"I want to invite ten couples to join us in fragrance making, which can both raise public awareness of the incense industry and give VK some promotion... what do you all think?"
Megan was the first to raise her hand in agreement, and Yvonne Winslow chimed in, "Many young people enjoy DIY now, I think this is a great entry point."
No sooner said than done.
That evening, Yvonne worked overtime to design an electronic invitation, inviting interested couples to apply by sending an email.
The final list of ten slots was announced a week later.
