Chapter 261: Preliminary Round Ends

Chapter 261: Preliminary Round Ends

Nora Northwood didn’t want her mood for the competition to be affected, so she simply ignored Yuna Hughes.

Three matches took place all morning, finishing right around noon.

At the end of November, the sun in Stanton City finally got a chance to relax, and the sycamore leaves along the streets stopped shining green.

On the way to lunch, Megan Underwood squeezed Nora Northwood’s arm and wrist, signaling her to relax, "How do you feel?"

"I was fine during the competition, but only started getting nervous afterward."

"Results will be out at three in the afternoon, so fill your stomach first, then we can take a stroll."

The competition venue was some distance from Southwood Court, and Nora Northwood didn’t like wasting time on the road, so she decided not to return.

Jasper Sinclair drove to the pre-booked restaurant, a Cantonese cuisine mansion, as the name suggests.

The backyard had a small artificial lake, and the lush trees in the yard gave off a delightful vibe just from the view.

The attendants led them through the backyard and took an elevator directly to the third floor.

With only three floors, the top level often hosted business guests.

Once seated, Nora Northwood noticed that all the tables and chairs were made from ebony wood, and she couldn’t help but be curious about the owner’s identity.

The waiter opened the windows for ventilation, and the midday breeze was warm against the face.

A man’s husky voice drifted into Nora Northwood’s ear along with the wind, "I’ve ordered some dishes you like, want to add more?"

Nora Northwood glanced briefly at the menu, without thinking too much, she confirmed directly, "It’s fine, no need to add more."

The morning competition had already left her exhausted, and at this moment, she just wanted to enjoy the breeze quietly.

Soon, the beautifully plated dishes were brought to the table one by one.

Looking at the lemon shrimp, boiled shrimp, and potato shrimp balls on the table, Nora Northwood fell into a brief contemplation.

Seeing this, Jasper Sinclair slightly curled his lips with a charming smile, as if seeking praise, he said, "Today you can enjoy unlimited shrimp."

A few days before the competition, Jasper Sinclair had been worried about her health and had strictly controlled her diet.

Megan Underwood, feeling like a third wheel, remarked, "Please, you two, consider the feelings of us single folks."

Nora Northwood picked a boiled shrimp with the communal chopsticks and placed it on the plate in front of her, "Megan Underwood, the first bite is for you. Thank you for coming to the competition with me."

"Now that’s more like it, Nora is always the best."

After the meal, they rested for a while, chatted, and drank tea, savoring the rare leisurely afternoon.

On the way back to the competition site, Jasper Sinclair said, "After the evaluation event, come with me to visit Aunt Hutchinson."

Nora Northwood knew he was referring to Master Elaine and nodded, "Sure."

On the way back, they encountered some traffic, causing the three to arrive just in time.

Before going onstage, Nora Northwood ran into Yuna Hughes and couldn’t avoid a few sarcastic remarks: "Haven’t seen you around, thought you’d run off out of embarrassment."

"It seems Miss Hughes is very focused on me."

Upon hearing this, Yuna Hughes retorted indignantly, "As if! I just want Elaine to see that you’re not better than me!"

With that, she angrily took her number card and went on stage.

Nora Northwood followed closely and found that all the contestants had already arrived for the third round selection, leaving ten people.

The top three scorers this time would advance to the provincial competition.

Information about each contestant scrolled across the LED screen.
