Chapter 255: Kneeling Down
Chapter 255: Kneeling Down
For the Quinn Family to survive in Stanton City, Mrs. Quinn had no choice but to find Nora Northwood again.
This time, her attitude changed dramatically, it was quite a reversal.
"Nora, it’s Aunt Quinn who was wrong in the past, I beg you to be the bigger person and forgive me."
With prior experience, Nora led her into VK, afraid of being photographed and posted online again.
Nora’s tone was slightly cool, "The events have already happened, forgiveness or not won’t change anything." Her thin lips seemed to press together slightly, perhaps an unconscious movement, yet it invited speculation.
"The police said that if you agree to a private settlement, Christian could be released. How about this, we’ll compensate you, pay for all the damaged items at full price, okay?"
"Not okay."
Nora’s brief reply directly silenced Mrs. Quinn.
Mrs. Quinn still remembered Mr. Quinn’s instructions before she left and steeled herself, "thud" her knees hit the ground.
"Nora, I beg you, please show mercy and release my son, or this old woman will be unable to go on living."
"You and your son have repeatedly disrupted my life and work, why should I show mercy, who has ever shown mercy to me?"
In the past, Nora might have softened somewhat.
But, after going through so much, she understood the principle that kindness is often taken advantage of.
This time, no matter how Mrs. Quinn pleaded, she didn’t relent.
For peace and quiet, she directly found the mall manager, and had the Quinn Family recorded in the system, prohibiting them from entering Brenner Mall.
Moreover, they lost purchasing privileges for any Sinclair Group ventures.
After these actions, Nora felt somewhat relieved.
Megan Underwood teased her, "President Sinclair’s fierce protection of his wife deserves to be recorded in history, immortalized for eternity."
Lily Sloan also said, "It seems our decision to move into the mall was right, otherwise, the flower shop would have been smashed again."
This time, instead of getting shy, Nora graciously accepted their teasing and admiration, "Since you all say so, I’ve decided to reward President Sinclair tonight."
Her intention was to cook a delicious meal for Jasper Sinclair, but to others, it sounded like something else entirely.
Soon, Nora realized everyone was looking at her differently, she also realized the meaning was misconstrued and quickly explained, "Don’t get the wrong idea, I meant I’ll cook for him tonight!"
The words appeared a bit weak and pale, and no one listened.
Megan said, "We all understand the fun between newlyweds, no need to explain."
Annie chimed in, "We’re all adults, who hasn’t been in a few relationships? Those who know, know!"
Sitting in the corner, Lily raised her left hand silently, like a student wanting to answer a question, she said, "I haven’t been in a relationship yet."
Indeed, Lily lacked much dating experience.
She handled plenty of tasks in the studio, which made people overlook her actual age.
"Lily, what kind of boys do you like? Sis will introduce one to you!" Annie said boldly.
Soon after, Lily propped her chin, her eyes began to sparkle, her gaze wandered somewhere unknown, she dazedly said, "I like handsome ones! Ideally, as impressive as Nora’s husband!"
The next moment, Annie splashed a basin of cold water on her: "You won’t find a second one in Stanton City, we might as well look in outer space."
This set everyone off in a burst of laughter.
