Chapter 863 - 862: For You, Defying Heaven—So What?

Maxwell Peary paused, his heart suddenly softened. His entire heart was filled with Nia Mitchell’s words, and he sat beside her, reaching out to grab her little paw.

"I won’t let you leave either."

He was confident that no one could separate them.

Even if that person was fate itself, he would defy it.

Nia Mitchell’s face was full of smiles, her cheeks rosy.

"Alright, then you have to protect me forever, so that I won’t leave."

Nia’s tone was light, giving an impression of her very good mood.

"Okay."

Maxwell Peary nodded, solemnly agreeing.

The two of them chatted and laughed along the way, quickly arriving at the new house the Mitchell family bought.

"It seems to be on the 8th floor, apartment 802, I think."

After Nia got out of the car, the smile remained on her face.

"Hmm, let’s go up and have a look."

Maxwell Peary held Nia’s hand and directly headed upstairs.

"Alright, uncle, should I call dad and tell him we’ve arrived?"

Nia hesitated a bit, unsure whether to make the call.

"Since we’re here, let’s just go up directly."

Maxwell Peary didn’t say much, directly pulling her into the elevator and then reaching out to press the 8th floor.

"No matter what Dad says later, just remember, having me by your side is enough."

Nia nodded, feeling warm inside. How could she forget these words?

This was a promise from Maxwell Peary, words she would always keep close to heart.

After they exited the elevator, they directly knocked on the door of apartment 802.

Aldy Mitchell had mostly recovered; the cast was long gone, and he was doing rehabilitation exercises every day.

There was no one else at home, just him, so he slowly walked, leaning on crutches, to open the door.

As soon as the door opened, he saw Nia’s smiling face and was momentarily stunned.

Only she, regardless of what happened, could always smile so happily.

"Sis, why did you come over?"

Aldy Mitchell had no knowledge of their father inviting Nia home.

"Aldy, are you the only one at home?"

Nia furrowed her brows in confusion; their father had called her back, yet he wasn’t home.

"Yeah, Mom and Dad went out to buy groceries. I’m at home training my legs."

Aldy said this while slowly moving forward on crutches.

"Sis, have a seat, and you too, brother-in-law."

When Aldy opened the door, he saw Maxwell Peary but wasn’t sure what to say to him.

So he pretended not to see him at all.

But now, he couldn’t keep pretending, so he reluctantly began to entertain them.

"Hmm."

Maxwell Peary responded, pulling Nia to sit down together.

If it were someone else, he wouldn’t bother to even acknowledge them.

Since it was Nia Mitchell’s brother, he would be kind and courteous.

If Aldy knew what Maxwell was thinking, he’d probably be furious.

Are you calling this kind and courteous?

Haha, Young Master Peary, aren’t you mistaken?

"Aldy, have a seat too. Rehabilitation should be taken step by step, don’t be hasty."

Seeing the sweat on Aldy’s forehead, Nia said with a smile.

Listening to Nia, Aldy nodded and then focused his gaze on Maxwell Peary.

"Young Master Peary, are you really married to my sister? What about those previous rumors in the news?"
