Chapter 331 - 330 Plan Failed (Additional - )
Did Maxwell Peary’s threat work after all? After hanging up the call, Nia Mitchell awkwardly looked at Diana Hill, who was sitting across from her.
"A friend is looking for me. I have to leave now."
Nia Mitchell put down her chopsticks. Though she hadn’t had her fill, she had no choice.
"Won’t you finish eating first?"
Diana Hill looked at her curiously. What kind of friend would make her leave halfway through a meal?
"I’m not eating anymore. I have to go. Bye."
Nia Mitchell left in a rush and appeared in Maxwell Peary’s Office Room in just five minutes.
"HUFF... HUFF... You... you’re so unreasonable—"
Nia Mitchell was gasping for breath. She flung open the Office Room’s Grand Gate. She looked at Maxwell Peary, who sat leisurely on the sofa, her entire body trembling slightly.
Seeing her standing at the door, Maxwell Peary immediately stood up from the sofa and walked over to her.
"You should have walked slowly. Why did you run over here?"
He immediately reached out to gently rub her back. Once her breathing had calmed a little, he bent down and picked her up.
"Ah! What are you doing?"
Nia Mitchell was startled and immediately wrapped her arms around his neck.
"You’re tired."
He answered with just those three words, carried her over to the sofa, gently set her down, and then opened the food box.
As soon as he opened the lid, warm steam rushed out, filling the air with a rich aroma.
It was a sweet and sour fragrance—the distinct smell of Sweet and Sour Pork.
"It smells so good!"
Nia Mitchell’s eyes lit up. She immediately leaned in, her little nose twitching.
Maxwell Peary, smiling, opened each layer of the food box and arranged her favorite dishes in front of her.
"How much did you eat in the cafeteria?"
Maxwell Peary asked, afraid she would insist on finishing all her favorite dishes regardless of how full she was. Tʜe source of this ᴄontent ɪs ????????????????????·????????????????·????????????
"Not much. I only had three or four pieces of hairtail."
Nia Mitchell watched Maxwell Peary with a beaming smile, then picked up her chopsticks and went straight for the Sweet and Sour Pork.
Seeing her like this, Maxwell Peary unintentionally furrowed his brows.
"Look at the way you’re eating."
Noticing a drop of sauce about to fall, Maxwell Peary instinctively stretched out his hand to catch it.
Sure enough, moments later, the sauce dripped onto his hand.
"Mmph."
Nia Mitchell’s mouth was stuffed full. She widened her eyes at the sight of the sauce on Maxwell Peary’s hand.
She quickly grabbed a tissue, carefully wiped it off him, and then wiped her own mouth as well.
"Slow down."
Maxwell Peary looked at her, displeased by how she was stuffing her face.
Nia Mitchell nodded repeatedly to show she understood, diligently chewing and finally managing to swallow.
"Uncle, why would you catch it with your hand?"
Nia Mitchell’s cheeks flushed red; she was a bit unaccustomed to being cared for like this.
"Otherwise, it would have gotten on your clothes."
Maxwell Peary replied matter-of-factly. Seeing her rosy cheeks, he couldn’t resist leaning over to kiss her.
Mmm, soft, a little sour, a little sweet... The taste is... actually quite good.
"We’re eating," Nia Mitchell pushed him away, then covered her small mouth with her hand.
It’s all the taste of Sweet and Sour Pork!!! The thought made her cringe.
Maxwell Peary chuckled, then picked up his chopsticks to begin his own lunch.
"We’re staying at the Villa on the Hillside tonight."
Remembering his decision, Maxwell Peary broke the silence.
Having eaten her fill, Nia Mitchell rested her head on Maxwell Peary’s thigh, her bare feet, shoes discarded, swaying on the sofa.
She was holding some strawberries, occasionally tossing one into her mouth.
"What Villa on the Hillside?"
