Chapter 778 - 358: Necromancer Purification Experiment Log_2
Luo De stepped forward for a glance; it was books about the basic application of ice elements, all related to first-circle spells.
Luo De searched around the desk and cabinet again, finding only dried ink bottles, a stack of parchment records, and some bags of dried fish.
"Look at this."
Vivian took out an ordinary wooden box from the cabinet beside her, opened it, and placed it on the table in front of Luo De.
Inside were some extraordinary gemstones the size of fingernails.
Luo De counted; there were seventeen in total.
Spirit Gems, Life Gems, Flame Gems, and others, but no Frost Gems or Magic Gemstones.
"Looks abandoned."
Luo De closed the lid of the wooden box and casually stored it in his storage insignia.
"Obviously, this place has been cleaned up."
Luo De glanced around; essentially everything of value had been taken.
"I wonder if Wizard Kevin fled or joined the battlefield."
"Let’s go inside and take a look."
Luo De led Vivian into another corridor.
The three-meter-wide corridor had three branches, leading to Kevin’s private library and bedroom on either side.
The library contained some wizard tomes but nothing extraordinary.
The bedroom had nothing noteworthy apart from some automatically dust-proof robes.
The meditation room was similarly empty.
Yet the meditation room itself had value—the floor was adorned with intricate runes, and the surrounding walls were embedded with numerous powerless demon crystals.
It was obvious these arrays could enhance meditation efficiency, usable once the wall’s demon crystals were replaced.
Actually, Luo De was more interested in the laboratory at the corridor’s end and the storage connected to it.
But inside, besides the laboratory equipment and empty bottles and jars, there was nothing.
The only gain was a few runic laboratory tools, which might hold some value.
"Kevin seems to be a wizard who likes cleanliness."
After exploring the entire area, Luo De lamented, "It’s tidied up so well, nothing left behind."
"Didn’t we find extraordinary gemstones?" Vivian asked.
"Extraordinary gemstones aren’t considered rare items here."
Luo De shook his head, "There should have been more powerful magic jewelry or scrolls."
Vivian nodded in agreement; those extraordinary gemstones indeed seemed too small.
This place was indeed too clean, really appearing as if someone had fled.
"However, the facilities here are quite comprehensive, definitely suitable for a private domain," Luo De added.
The underground Wizard Tower was completely different from those above ground.
The Sea Abyss Wizard Tower extended infinitely forward, room configurations complete, ready for habitation with simple preparations.
It provided a secluded research environment for wizards, closing the doors ensured no one would be disturbed.
But if truly living here, Luo De felt he preferred the outside world.
Occasional sunbathing, enjoying the scenery, rather than staying in such extreme underground silence.
"Should we check the other wizard’s rooms?" Vivian asked.
"Yes."
Luo De replied without hesitation, "Even if there’s nothing, we should check everything."
Even a box of extraordinary gemstones would count as a gain.
Luo De immediately led Vivian out of Kevin’s dwelling, heading into another corridor belonging to Melos, the Soulbinder.
Just as they reached the door of Melos’ private domain, a thick black mist suddenly surged out from inside.
The mist tumbled and expanded in the air, swiftly forming into floating words.
"Please state the access command."
The words were written in the ancient language of the Sea Race, the letters glowing with a purple light, exceptionally clear.
Luo De paused, carefully observing the black mist before him.
Was it a Magic Guard?
Luo De was somewhat curious.
"No command."
Luo De said calmly.
Without any clue, Luo De did not intend to guess or deceive.
The letters in the black mist instantly changed.
"Command incorrect, access denied."
After the words changed, the black mist fell to the ground, quickly twisting and transforming.
In the blink of an eye, a humanoid creature emerged within the black mist.
A shield sentinel over two meters tall, fully covered in jet-black heavy armor, its surface flowing with dark purple light.
The helmet concealed the entire face, with only the eye area revealing two crimson glows.
The sentinel held a sword in its right hand and a shield in its left, the shield bearing intricate magic runes.
It stood silently in front of the archway, staring at Luo De, adopting a standard combat posture.
"Do you have intelligence?"
Luo De remained unfazed, calmly focusing on the black mist sentinel.
The sentinel didn’t budge from its combat stance, showing no intention of responding to Luo De.
"Looks like there’s no talking it out."
Luo De wasn’t inclined to damage any magical devices now.
Initially, he did intend to converse with this magic guard, but it seemed impossible now.
With that thought, Luo De didn’t hesitate, raising his right hand toward the sentinel.
In an instant, a torrent of flames erupted, engulfing the black mist sentinel.
The sentinel immediately raised its shield to block, compressing its entire body behind the shield.
But perhaps having endured the passage of countless years, its energy was nearly depleted, the shield withstanding for only three to five seconds before disintegrating.
The entire sentinel crumbled like a sand sculpture within the flames, collapsing into wisps of mist that gradually faded.
A muffled sound resonated from the stone door, then everything completely disappeared.
Luo De explored with his mental tendrils, finding no remaining prohibitions, then led Vivian to push the door open and enter.
