Chapter 9 : A Gift from the Tenjin Race

Seeing a member of the Tenjin Race, regarded as gods in the Milky Way Galaxy, I too felt fear - because I could sense the tremendous energy concealed within her body.

The instant I felt a presence that sent a chill through me, the naked form of the Tenjin called Zorofiēnu was enveloped in an elegant space suit.

【I am grateful to you two for releasing me from the seal the Anubis Race placed on me. Therefore, I intend to give each of you three gifts. Decide what you would like.】

She suddenly said she'd give us gifts. Being told something like that out of nowhere, I couldn't decide what would be good. Moreover, I had no idea what Zorofiēnu possessed or what kinds of things she could give.

Since I didn't know, I decided to leave it to her.

「Please give me the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to survive in space from now on.」

Zorofiēnu laughed with apparent amusement, kuku.

【Very well. I shall choose and bestow them upon you.】

「I'm the shame ash Zen.」

When Sario spoke, Zorofiēnu nodded. Then, looking at Sario and me with eyes that seemed to see through everything, she declared.

【Your knowledge is far too limited, so as the first gift I shall grant you 『General Common Sense.』 Next, to Sario I shall bestow 『Control Brain Technical Information』 and 『Physical Drive Engine Technology.』】

「Thank you very much.」

Sario bowed his head in thanks. Zorofiēnu turned her gaze to me.

【Hmm, interesting. It appears Zen possesses Bosoru Sensitivity. To you I shall grant knowledge and techniques regarding 『High-Dimensional Access Method』 and 『Tenshiryoku Drive Engineering.』】

「Thank you very much.」

I didn't understand what I'd received, but I expressed my gratitude. After that, she told me to close my eyes, so I obeyed, and my consciousness faded.

【First, to use the 'High-Dimensional Access Method,' let us form a 『Seireikaku』 - no, a 『Seirei-un.』】

A Seireikaku - or Seirei-un - was what you got when you reconstituted the soul, normally a vague and formless thing, into a higher-dimensional entity. It served as the foundation of mental civilization.

The Rikageru Tenjin Race used Seireikaku. But Earthling souls were underdeveloped - forming a full Seireikaku all at once was impossible. So Zorofiēnu formed a Seirei-un instead, a functionally inferior version.

I awoke after the Seirei-un had been formed and the necessary information had been inscribed into the Seirei-un - my soul. My Seirei-un was pathetically small, roughly the size of a soybean. Incidentally, since Zorofiēnu didn't know what a soybean was, she showed me the size with a gap between two fingers.

【You two should return to the small spacecraft. By that time, I shall ensure you can use what I have bestowed. Well then, farewell.】

Zorofiēnu vanished. I had no idea what method she used, but she disappeared in an instant.

「Is this a dream?」

「It'sh not. Let'sh return to the shmall shpacecraft.」

Feeling like I'd been bewitched by a fox, I returned to the small spacecraft. I opened the airlock's outer hatch and entered, and once air filled the chamber the inner hatch opened automatically, so I headed for the cockpit.

I stripped off my space suit along the way, and the moment I sat in the cockpit seat, a massive amount of knowledge flooded into my head. Unable to withstand the load, I lost consciousness.

After a while, I woke feeling thirsty. I drank some water and looked around.

「Sario, wake up.」

I roused Sario, who had passed out in the seat next to me.

「Ugh, uhhh……」

When Sario woke, he looked around with bewildered eyes. After a while, he seemed to remember the situation.

「What'sh thish? My head feelsh shtrange.」

Hearing him say that, I checked inside my own head too. Then I noticed a massive amount of new knowledge existed in my mind. It was what Zorofiēnu had called 'General Common Sense.'

Sario and I fell silent and began confirming the knowledge that existed in our heads. It was the general common sense possessed by Civilization Level C races. Civilization Level C meant a civilization that controlled hundreds of stars.

Apparently, the minimum necessary knowledge for the Tenjin Race was Civilization Level C. That knowledge was so vast that comparing it to Earth's science university students would be laughable. Judging by this knowledge, Earth's civilization was probably about a hundred thousand years behind.

「I'm starving.」

After spending hours confirming the knowledge in my head, this time I felt intense hunger. I invited Sario to eat. Even though I felt I'd become a considerably better person with increased knowledge, what I had to eat was the worst preservation food tubes. Tragic.

「I wonder if there's a method for making delicious food in all this knowledge?」

「Even if there wash, we don't have the ingredientsh to make it.」

I sighed. Then I washed the disgusting food down into my stomach with water.

Sario and I did nothing for about ten days, confirming the 'General Common Sense' we'd been granted. Then Sario began investigating the technical information regarding control brains.

Meanwhile, I began investigating the 'High-Dimensional Access Method' bestowed by Zorofiēnu. This included knowledge about how to use Bosoru Sensitivity.

This Bosoru Sensitivity was the ability to sense and manipulate Bosoru particles - undiscovered on Earth - and Tenshiryoku, and using this I could apparently draw in energy called Tenshiryoku and Bosoru particles from a high-dimensional universe.

Tenshiryoku was a type of high-dimensional energy that held possibilities exceeding nuclear energy. In particular, acceleration force field generators using Tenshiryoku had long been used as one type of spacecraft propulsion system.

The knowledge of 'Tenshiryoku Drive Engineering,' the other gift, was knowledge and technology for moving objects using Tenshiryoku. Acceleration force field generators were, it seemed, constructed utilizing this technology.

Incidentally, Bosoru particles were particles that reacted to the thoughts of intelligent life forms. Those Bosoru particles existed in a separate universe in a higher dimension than the one we lived in. To access that separate universe, from what I gathered, required a door that transcended dimensions.

The Rikageru Tenjin Race called that door the 'High-Dimensional Border Field' and the high-dimensional universe on the other side the 'Nayuta Realm.' - or so the knowledge told me.

That Nayuta Realm was filled with Bosoru particles and Tenshiryoku, and those with Bosoru Sensitivity who used them were said to become mage-like existences.

I looked within myself. Following the knowledge received from Zorofiēnu, I heightened my willpower to the extreme and constructed a High-Dimensional Border Field above my head via the Seirei-un. Something I absolutely couldn't have done before encountering Zorofiēnu.

Teeth clenched, I mobilized every ounce of willpower - my consciousness connected to the Seirei-un reached the threshold of the High-Dimensional Border Field. I extended the hand of my consciousness toward the High-Dimensional Border Field and entered the Nayuta Realm.

The Nayuta Realm felt dazzling. In my immaturity, I could only tell that it was filled with vast energy. Tremendous pressure bore down on my consciousness that had entered the Nayuta Realm. The energy and Bosoru particles existing here were trying to force their way into my consciousness and leak out of the Nayuta Realm.

The moment I realized my consciousness was about to be crushed and extinguished by the vast energy at this rate, Zorofiēnu's knowledge taught me how to handle it.

I created an energy pathway called a 'Power Conduit' inside my consciousness, like a water pipe filling a pool, and attached to it a 'Control Gate' that regulated the amount like a faucet. Power Conduits and Control Gates were unique technologies of the Rikageru Tenjin Race, precious techniques that almost no one outside the Tenjin Race knew.

I closed that Control Gate and directed my consciousness to the Nayuta Realm. It was a separate universe overflowing with energy called Tenshiryoku and Bosoru particles, a world where the fundamental energy of mental civilization could be obtained.

Keeping the Power Conduit connected to the Nayuta Realm, I returned my consciousness to the real world. When I opened my eyes, I saw Sario's face.

「Are you all right?」

「No problem. What happened to me?」

「You shtopped reshponding when I called out to you, sho I wash worried.」

Apparently I'd been in a state like I had passed out in the cockpit seat.
