Chapter 288 264: Killing Demons and Receiving Charms (Two in One)

Li Tongya landed among the mountains and could only hear a few low wolf howls echoing through the forest. The clouds and fog obscured everything, turning it pitch black in all directions. His Spiritual Sense swept in front of the cave, and he immediately felt an intense rush of Demonic Qi and the scent of blood assaulting his senses. He pressed his hand to his sword to move forward, his left hand conjured a ball of fire magic, and with a flick of his fingers, he shot it into the cave.

The fire magic rose for just two breaths within the dense Demonic Qi before flickering out, uncertainly. Li Tongya's gaze remained indifferent as he stared at the enormous creature within the Cave Mansion, clutching his sword without uttering a word.

"Taoist Fellow, why must you press on so relentlessly..."

The raspy voice came through, echoing in Li Tongya's ears. This demonic creature had detected Li Tongya's arrival long ago but had been hiding silently within the Cave Mansion, relying on the Great Formation.

On this side, Yan Mountain was shrouded in dense fog, desolate and uninhabited. Spiritual Sense was ineffective here. The demonic creature had expected that the proud and lofty Foundation Establishment Cultivator would hate the trouble of searching painstakingly through Bianyan Mountain and would therefore hide in the Cave Mansion, waiting for Li Tongya to give up due to difficulty.

Little did the creature know that Li Tongya would choose this exact place to alight. Thinking that the cultivator possessed some powerful Magical Treasure, the creature dared not confront him and hissed:

"I am a Demon General under the Demon King's command; please leave quickly, Taoist Fellow, and do not displease the Demon King!"

"What Demon King? If you had a patron, you wouldn't dare stay in Xu Country!"

Li Tongya had already asked the fox about this and immediately refuted it. The demonic creature was at a loss, realizing it couldn't deceive Li Tongya and pitifully said:

"You are a cultivator of the Zifu Golden Core Path, not some mage who subdues beasts and banishes demons. We demons have dealings with your kind as well, so why must you be so relentless..."

Seeing that Li Tongya remained unmoved, the creature's voice grew increasingly shrill and plaintive:

This wolf demon had cultivated for many years in Bianyan Mountain, and Xu Country was a place where various teachings converged. The North and South had completely different Taoist Spells and practices, and the creature had learned quite a bit. After pleading for a while, it said:

"I escaped from the North and was fortunate to see the Maha Dharma Appearance, who granted me a stroke of Karma Magic. Now the time is near; if only you, Upper Immortal, would spare my life..."

Li Tongya, unmoved by its words, silently amassed Sword Qi. The wolf demon paused, then ultimately gave up hope and darted out of the cave like the wind.

There appeared a grey wolf, as large as a hut, its form revealed. Its green eyes gleamed like electricity, like fire, its Demonic Qi dense, its fur bristly yet sleekly stretched out. It made a turn on the ground, intending to flee.

Li Tongya had been ready for some time. He drew his sword, unleashing a bright white Sword Qi that locked onto the wolf demon and rushed forward powerfully. The wolf demon was forced to turn and face him, shocked and angry, howling:

"You cultivator, you seek to destroy my path!"

"Not just your path,"

Behind Li Tongya appeared spiraling deep blue serpents, unlike the deep green water veins of Wangyue Lake. The water veins of Yan Mountain were colder and appeared deep blue. The two serpents bared their teeth and claws as Li Tongya spoke:

"Your life as well!"

The wolf demon glared at Li Tongya with deep resentment and gritted its teeth:

"So it is 'Jing Dragon King'."

After speaking, it lightly exhaled, emitting a beam of green light that waved and drifted around, instantaneously splitting into nine streams, swarming toward Li Tongya and shredding his Sword Qi to pieces.

The wolf demon's Taoist Foundation was that of "Earth Shaman Blessing," and it knew many Secret Techniques, harboring a blast of Green Ruler Qi within its chest and abdomen, demonstrating formidable strength. Li Tongya's Sword Qi was instantly torn asunder, leaving him no choice but to direct the two serpents to advance while his Longsword never ceased its flurry of strikes towards the wolf demon.

Although the wolf demon was stronger, it had no intention of engaging in a Spell Battle with Li Tongya. It thought internally:

"This person does not seem to be a powerful Sword Immortal, just an ordinary cultivator. But these cultivators always stick together; killing one brings an older one. Thus, it howled loudly, and four black winds rose in the forest below, the demonic creature's Qi Cultivation subordinates, all rushing up the mountain. Unexpectedly, several beams of Dharma Light also emerged around, as the Li Family's people surrounded it.

The creature, huge in size and overpowering Li Tongya with its green light, was nevertheless anxious and devoid of joy, persistently begging for mercy while keeping a wary eye on Li Tongya, fearful he would produce a Talisman or Magical Treasure and finish it off in one fell swoop.

Li Tongya's Spiritual Sense stirred the Dharma Mirror, vaguely sensing the power of the Taiyin Profound Light within. He knew that taking a direct hit from the Dharma Mirror's Xuan Guang would most likely cost him his life, and even though the wolf demon was slightly stronger, it might not survive either.

The wolf demon was also decisive, realizing the situation was dire. Unsure if there were any Foundation Establishment Cultivators in the Dharma Light below, it howled intensely, spewing out another beam of green light tinted with blood from its throat, its power even greater than before.
