Chapter 165 - 125: Who Wields the Sword; Eightfold Congratulatory Gifts (Part 3)
"Indeed, it’s quite troubling for the Third Elder. Senior Sister, does the Third Elder have a weapon she’s adept with?" You Su turned to ask.
"Yes, it’s called the Cui Divine Whip."
So, it really is the Third Elder...
You Su naturally wouldn’t be conceited enough to think that a female cultivator who’s stayed at the mountain peak for hundreds of years would take a liking to a fledgling like himself, a blind man. But even if the Third Elder admired him greatly, she should still remain uninvolved in such matters.
It could only be Master who asked for her help. For the Third Elder to set aside her pride as a mountain peak cultivator, Master likely had to pay a significant price.
You Su was momentarily lost in thought. Whether the Third Elder received compensation from Master or simply didn’t care about this matter, to You Su, he still owed the Third Elder a favor and should treat her with more respect in the future. As for the gratitude he owed to Master, there’s no doubt that he would repay it generously.
"Why does Junior Brother ask? You..." Wangshu hesitated for a moment and cautiously asked, "Do you not want to learn the sword anymore?"
"How could I not? I’ve put in so much effort just to stay on Lotus Peak to learn the sword from Senior Sister and Master." You Su laughed heartily.
Wangshu remained silent for a moment, suddenly stood up, and happily reached out for You Su’s hand. Yet, as if remembering You Su’s warning, she pulled back and said, "Junior Brother, follow me outside."
You Su didn’t understand why, but seeing Senior Sister retract her hand left him with a sense of loss. He shook his head and followed her out.
Outside, Wangshu was already waiting under the peach tree, surrounded by countless rare treasures.
They all exuded a magnificent aura, and any one of them was a precious treasure at first glance.
Seeing You Su’s shocked expression, Wangshu seemed pleased and explained:
"These are gifts from the other elders for your successful entry into Lotus Peak. I’ve accepted them all on your behalf."
Hearing this, You Su snapped out of his surprise. Senior Sister didn’t seem like someone who would covet treasures, but her tone implied a threat: ’If you no longer want to learn the sword, then these treasures won’t belong to you.’
He was touched, not expecting that just asking about the Third Elder’s weapon would lead his sensitive Senior Sister to think he was seeking higher ground elsewhere.
"It’s all thanks to the light of Lotus Peak."
These words came from the depths of You Su’s heart. He moved closer to start examining these valuable treasures.
Some of them were easy to identify, such as the Tribulation Relief Elixir from the Seventh Elder specializing in alchemy, with meticulous explanations of its healing properties next to it; and the exquisite snow fox fur gifted by the Eleventh Elder known for beast mastery, perfect for a lover’s gift; and a jar of premium Sword Nourishing Oil from the Ninth Elder, famous for swordsmanship, naturally meant for nurturing the Mo Song Sword.
Of course, there were also some unusual gifts, such as the exquisite wooden figurine You Su was handling, which held a miniature sword with great seriousness. You Su asked:
"Senior Sister, what’s the use of this?"
"This ’Bean Soldier’ was sent by the Twelfth Elder. Just have it perform a sword move, and it can continuously replicate it, even imitating its essence. It’s a precious magical treasure that can help you remember sword techniques if you forget them," Wangshu explained.
The treasure gifted by the Elder proficient in the Treasure Appraisal Skill was indeed extraordinary... You Su marveled silently.
"And what about this one?"
You Su picked up a stack of talismans, but instead of mysterious inscriptions, they depicted variously posed cool women.
"These are the Lady Talismans sent by the Second Elder adept in talismans. Each one can summon a paper lady to help you with chores."
You Su perspired. Was it really necessary to paint them so coolly just for household chores? Surely no one would use the paper figures for other purposes?
He took stock of all the gifts, totaling eight in all. Excluding Master, four major elders had not given gifts.
Senior Sister seemed to see through his thoughts and said:
"The Eighth Elder from Earth and Wood Peak didn’t know what to give, so he said if you wish to establish a cave, feel free to ask him; the Fifth Elder from Red Rainbow Peak has a sword pavilion and allows you to take a sword from there anytime; only the Tenth Elder from Book Immortal Peak gave nothing, I dislike the Tenth Elder the most."
Book Immortal Peak...
"What about the Third Elder?"
"The Third Elder said her gift has already been given to Junior Brother. What was it?"
"The Third Elder... fearing Junior Brother might become conceited, gave me a whip."
