Chapter 158 - 123: Bathing Together; Yang Poison (5k)_2
He kept his eyes tightly closed, with only the pale gold Immortal Seed between his brows continuously glowing, faintly flickering.
There was no need for You Su to actively channel his energy, as the Profound Qi in the water that originally belonged to He Shutong was drawn by the Lotus Immortal Seed, entering You Su’s body spontaneously through every pore.
He Shutong lay on the opposite side of You Su, in the water darkened by the night. Her exposed skin glowed like a second moon in the pool.
The dense mist between them did not obstruct the sight of a cultivator in the Void Realm. She observed the increasingly rosy face of the young man, satisfaction filling her expression.
You Su had been soaking in this pool the entire day, and she was amazed at the great "appetite" his body had for Profound Qi. Yet, she felt no regret for the loss of her Qi, only hoping that the young man would recover quickly.
In fact, even though You Su seemed almost fully recovered by now, she did not plan to move him out of the Lotus Pool; instead, she intended to replenish the dried-up Immortal Seed in him. Giving enough Qi for two whole Immortal Seeds wouldn’t matter to her.
The seventh day of the reporting and announcement process for You Su’s true disciple status had just ended.
He Shutong nodded silently, surprised that the Book Immortal Peak, where the Tenth Elder resided, never openly opposed You Su during this announcement process. She initially thought they would intervene on the last day, but to her surprise, the seventh day passed peacefully.
Though, after yesterday’s battle, it was expected by all that You Su would become a true disciple of Lotus Peak, so it made sense that Book Immortal Peak did not intervene.
He Shutong smiled slightly. Despite some obstacles, the final outcome was as desired; she had finally become You Su’s master as she wished.
However, this young man had put in too much unnecessary effort. Accepting him as a true disciple was initially just her own wishful thinking, a self-perceived compensation, yet this brought undue trouble to You Su.
She felt a pang of remorse for her presumptuousness, and she made a silent vow that in the future, whenever she wanted to compensate or reward You Su, she would first ask him what he wanted.
To You Su, she should not be a lofty Immortal but a loving and tolerant Master.
The autumn night was brisk, the cool breeze wafted, blowing away the water-drenched strands of You Su’s hair and tickling the young man’s lashes.
You Su opened his eyes groggily, only to see a blur of darkness, feeling warmth all over his body. He tried to lift his hand, clearly sensing he had plenty of strength, yet his actions were sluggish due to bodily fatigue.
Despite this, he still caused slight ripples in the water, and as he inhaled the elegant fragrance in the air, coupled with his Sea of Consciousness being completely clouded, he quickly realized he was soaking in the pool where his Master was in seclusion.
This realization shocked the newly awakened You Su. How could he possibly share a pool with his Master? He wondered if the pool water had been changed or not...
"Master...?"
You Su tentatively called out, hoping desperately for no response so that he could quietly slip away.
"Hmm."
A gentle reply echoed, making You Su feel as if he was a petty thief caught red-handed in broad daylight. He quickly gathered all his strength, trying to flee from the pool.
But as soon as he moved, he felt as if the pool water was binding him. Upon closer sensation, it turned out that thin strands of Profound Qi were wrapping around him, preventing any movement.
"You’ve been through two consecutive battles, and your body is exhausted, so I brought you to the Lotus Pool for recovery. You’re not yet fully healed; there’s no need to rush out."
He Shutong held her fingers like an orchid, her voice as clear as a spring.
You Su’s eyes couldn’t see, and his Divine Sense was obscured by the spiritual fog. Hearing his Master’s ethereal voice, he couldn’t discern whether she was speaking to him from the shore or sharing the pool with him...
If it’s the latter, that would be excessively presumptuous...
He initially intended to voice his objection, but then he thought that his Master had brought him here and transparently told him, evidently not wanting him to harbor any unnecessary misunderstandings. If he were obstinate about it, it would only make his Master feel awkward. You Su felt moved, realizing that his Master valued him greatly by allowing him to use her exclusive Lotus Pool for recovery.
He also thought about how his Master, being a Venerable in the Void Realm, probably lived for countless years. As for himself, a mere eighteen-year-old in the Spirit Platform Realm, he was likely seen as a child in her eyes, which is why she permitted this to happen.
Thinking this through, You Su gave up on standing up, though there was still an unnatural blush on his face. Yet he remained soaked in the water, sitting properly and trying his best to cover important areas.
"Thank... Thank you, Master."
Even while in the water, You Su insisted on bowing in gratitude.
"I remember telling you that when receiving what you deserve, there’s no need for excessive formalities."
The cold and clear voice made You Su tense slightly, musing that to his Master, these were perhaps the rewards he deserved for his efforts in dispelling objections...
He got injured to successfully become a disciple, so having his Master heal him seemed appropriate. By bowing too often, it appeared distant.
"Please don’t mind me, Master. It’s just that You Su felt overwhelmed and couldn’t help but show my gratitude." You Su cautiously spoke, not wanting to anger his Master.
"It’s alright. I wasn’t criticizing you earlier, just reminding you."
He Shutong replied softly, secretly regretting her earlier cold tone, fearing she had scared You Su.
After the words fell, a quiet silence enveloped them both. Sensing a hint of awkwardness in the air, You Su proactively broke the silence:
"Master, what day is it now?"
"It’s the end of the midnight hour, your seventh day of the announcement process has just passed." He Shutong, understanding why You Su was inquiring about the day, added, "On the last day, no one challenged you. From today, you are officially recognized as a disciple of Lotus Peak by everyone."
