Chapter 220: Second Form: Tomato man

Chapter 220: Second Form: Tomato man

The old man’s movement had been fast.

Unexpected.

Sudden.

No one had the time to stop him before it had happened.

It just did.

A pause.

Shick written all over Sophia’s face. Then a gut wrenching scream tore from within her chest.

"PAPA!!!"

It was accompanied by careless kicking and punching.

Strength had come from no where, as an elbow jabbed Black in the face, instantly letting her break free from his hold.

No one stopped her as she dove knee first beside him.

—blood gushed from the wound in alternating jets as she trued to seal it with a hand.

"No... no...no...no... Papa why dud you do that? Why dud you do that?"

Even as her hand trued to seal tge wound in his neck, it shook.

—Not because of the rushing blood, but because of fear.

Soren’s mind suddenly flashed back. A familiar scene.

One that his many repeated days had nearly drowned in his soul.

But now, clear as the morning sun.

The day his father died.

His eyes brightened. "Heal him. Hurry up and do it."

"Yes. Heal him you bitch." Don’t Alejandro echoed Soren’s thought process.

Sophia suddenly remembered what she was capable of doing.

"I... I...I..." she stammered, eyes searchibg around. "...accept your... your...blood as payment."

The rune glowed by his neck, but then it broke.

*crash*

Like glass.

Withering away.

"No... no... I accept your blood as payment."

*crash*

"No... I accept your hair as payment."

*crash*

"I accept your clothes..."

*crash*

Again and again. No matter what she did, it did not work.

Sophia knew why. She could see it in his eyes.

The only thing that managed to still have so much life.

He wasn’t giving an offering to her. And without the intension to gift, her ability was useless to help.

The old man gagged. There was no doubt that he had things he wanted to say.

The words choked at his throat—accompanied by coughing blood.

His weak hand stretched to cup her face.

—one last time.

And as Sophia looked, his eyes suddenly became lifeless.

Hand falling to the ground.

He was dead.

"Papa..." sophia muttered. Tears an unending stream— mixing with her makeup and staining her wedding gown.

Don Alejandro frowned, and it morphed further into absolute disgust.

"You useless thing!" He stepped forward and kicked Sophia.

—right in the face.

She fell to the ground, bleeding from a wound on her mouth.

He kicked against and again.

Unlike before, she did not fight back.

No... she did not have the strength to. How could she?

Soren wanted to step up, but this time, ot was polystar that stopped him.

Soren turned to him.

Shocked.

Polystar merely pointed ahead.

And that was when soren noticed Sophia’s father’s corpse.

It was visibly turning a dark shade of brown—Neuralink runes appearing as it did.

A sudden realisation dawned on Soren and Polystar.

The old man was the Anchor. He was the Contract.

Meaning that with his obvious death, Sophia was now free.

Soren gave Polystar a side gaze.

Both boys nodded at each other.

Instantly, Polystar waved his hands and two blades made entirely of leaves rushed forth, instantly cutting the necks of Red and Black with incredible precision.

Soren moved, rushing in between the gap of the twins.

He arrived in front of the Baron, taking the man by surprise.

Soren struck. The Baron blocked the attack.

No doubt, he had also trained in martial arts.

However, the body of a Soulbound warrior was many times stronger than that of a normal person.

Alejandro would have better dodged than parried Soren’s attack, because the clash of arms instantly resulted in the familiar sound of bones shattering.

"AHHH!!!" He screamed. Before Soren side stepped and struck again.

Clap.

The Baron was knocked to the side.

Soren moved, grabbing Sophia by her arm.

The girl was so broken emotionally that she did not want to move.

But Soren was not about to gift her the privilege of mourning her dead father.

At least not here.

If she was not going to move, then he would carry her.

Soren slung her on his shoulders.

Just then, he felt his Blackfield react.

Soren’s hand moved—catching the object mid air.

It was the Glassheart.

"Keep it safe!" Polystar screamed. Soren nodded.

Soren could tell what Polystar wanted to him.

It would be him against the twins that were slowly getting back on their feet.

Soren thought of helping out, but Polystar gave him a gaze that spoke volumes.

"Don’t interfere."

Soren was only reluctant for a fraction of a second before rushing out.

If Polystar was making a way out for him, then he should probably take advantage of it.

After all, Soren knew the noble boy to be too smart to make stupid decisions.

At least, he hoped so.

Soren rushed out of the opening leaving Polystar to face Red and Black.

Both of whom looked at Polystar luke he was an idiot.

Red turned to the side. His father was on the ground. Sophia and Soren were missing.

He turned towards the opening. But a projectile suddenly flew his way.

It was red. Like paste. Sticky. The moment it touched his feet, it solidified. He could not pull his leg from the ground.

"What is this?" He asked in frustration. However, looking up, he noticed Polystar’s body was already changing form.

Polystar was starting to look red. Even more, he was eating a tomato.

"Trust me... I hate this form more than you would believe.

It lacks elegance.

But since coming here, I have neither had carrots or enough time to bath in the sun."

Polystar waved a hand. His body was becoming rounded, wider.

Black stepped forward to punch.

—fingers tearing into Polystar’s body. But once it did, pulling out was difficult.

No matter how hard he tried, he just could not do it.

Polystar sighed. "This is not my fault. If you are to blame anybody, then please blame your chef for serving... Tomatoes."
