"Okay, I’ll take good care of myself, don’t worry Brother Lin Feng. I have to go to class soon. We’ll chat more after you’re back. Bye." Lin Jie’s cheeks flushed with Lin Feng’s concern, quickly ending the call with her heart feeling warm. Brother Lin Feng’s words proved that she held a special place in his heart, and she could tell that he meant what he said, making her exceptionally happy.

Now, Lin Jie felt incredibly joyful; Brother Lin Feng was about to return to Tianhai. When she found the chance to speak with him and spend some time together, how wonderful that would be. As she thought, her cheeks flushed with a bashful smile, humming a tune cheerfully, she skipped towards the classroom, ready to start another day of lessons.

Lin Feng chuckled upon hearing the dial tone, left the room, and went to look for Leng Mei. He planned to conduct final check-ups for Meng Ping and Leng Hui, have a chat, and then it would be time to leave Capital City.

When he reached Leng Mei’s room, he knocked on the door, and after Leng Mei opened it, he stepped inside.

"Why does the setup here look exactly the same as in Tianhai?" Lin Feng noticed something as he entered the room. Leng Mei’s room was arranged just like his place in Tianhai, which he found strange and casually remarked upon.

"Actually, the setup is the same back in Tianhai as it is here. I’m a bit of a homebody, and I have trouble sleeping in unfamiliar surroundings," Leng Mei said with a faint smile, offering an explanation to Lin Feng. This was simply her habit and nothing significant really.

"Are you all packed?" Lin Feng asked Leng Mei. They were due to return to Tianhai that afternoon, and if Leng Mei still had things to do, he would go alone to give the two elders their follow-up checkups.

"Mhm, I didn’t bring much with me to begin with. Going back, I’m just taking some local specialties for Wan’er and Duoduo. There’s nothing much to pack. Oh, and I’ve also brought gifts for your senior sister and uncle and aunt," Leng Mei replied to Lin Feng. However, when she mentioned preparing something for Lin Feng’s parents, she became slightly shy and unnatural, even though she concealed it well, her heart still thumped twice.

"That’s good. Come with me for Elder Meng and your grandfather’s final checkup, we’ll have a chat, and then it’s time to leave," Lin Feng said upon hearing that Leng Mei was ready, sticking to his original plan to take Leng Mei for the elders’ follow-up.

"Okay, let’s go," Leng Mei agreed immediately upon hearing Lin Feng’s suggestion, and naturally took his arm. The two of them left the room and walked towards the living room.

Upon entering the living room, they saw both elders chatting and laughing together; the guard was standing at a distance, and Leng Hao was accompanying the two older men. Seeing Leng Hao acting like that surprised Leng Mei greatly; her brother had never behaved like this before, and if nothing was amiss, all this was Lin Feng’s doing. "Brother Lin, sister, come sit over here," Leng Hao got up to offer his seat to his sister and Lin Feng when he saw them. He walked over and stood by the two elders, with a beaming smile on his face. Seeing Lin Feng and his sister together filled him with envy. The more he looked at them, the more suitable they seemed as a pair. He used to worry about his sister’s marital prospects, but all those concerns had vanished since Lin Feng appeared, and Lin Feng was the only one who could truly match his sister.

Lin Feng and Leng Mei sat down, looking perfectly at ease amidst the family members, who were all intimately close—there was no need for formality.

"Elder Leng, Elder Meng, before we leave, I thought I’d give you both another checkup, and then we’ll be heading off," Lin Feng spoke to the two smiling elders, happy himself. Seeing Lin Feng conducting the checkup for the elders, Leng Hao said nothing. He quietly left the living room, soon returned with a large bowl filled with various fruits, and carefully placed it down so as not to make any noise that might disturb Lin Feng. After ensuring everything was in order, he stood beside Leng Mei.
