Chapter 540 The Voice in the Mind...
Chapter 540 The Voice in the Mind...
What was more important was that Lin Feng’s actions were entirely intentional. The corner of his eye had caught the flash of something odd in Yuan Kun’s gaze, and that alone was enough of an answer. If his guess was correct, everything that happened tonight had likely been orchestrated by Yuan Kun. Lin Feng found himself admiring Yuan Kun’s acting skills; his cunning was deep and seamless. If Lin Feng hadn’t been paying close attention, he wouldn’t have noticed anything amiss with Yuan Kun.
Initially, Lin Feng was indifferent to it all. As long as it didn’t concern Leng Mei and Leng Hao’s safety, he couldn’t care less. However, Yuan Kun’s covert manipulation annoyed him. As Lin Feng pondered over this, he began to contemplate how to expose Yuan Kun. Having someone like Yuan Kun around Leng Hao was a terrible influence.
"..." Leng Mei felt Lin Feng’s warmth and her heart was no longer so anxious. But seeing Leng Hao in a perilous fight with the AA-ranked Feng Qi, she couldn’t help but worry. Leng Hao was her only brother, and she desperately didn’t want any harm to come to him.
But she had no doubt about Lin Feng’s abilities. If Lin Feng said her brother would be fine, then he surely would be. Still, Leng Mei was curious as to how Lin Feng would do it. She couldn’t fathom why Lin Feng was still sitting so calmly amidst the chaos, wondering... how he intended to ensure her brother’s safety...
......
"Bang!"
As Leng Mei fretted and pondered, Leng Hao was kicked by Feng Qi. Despite Leng Hao’s quick reflexes, using his hands to protect his chest only ensured he wasn’t seriously injured, and he was kicked to the wall.
It was clear that Leng Hao was at a disadvantage fighting Feng Qi. The gap between an A-ranked and an AA-ranked fighter was not easily bridged. Leng Hao’s situation was quite dire, but after roaring loudly, he reignited his fighting spirit and charged back into the fray against Feng Qi.
"Whoosh!"
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
"Crack!"
...
Their fists, each carrying strong wind, made the spectators feel bursts of air pressure. It was evident that Leng Hao was giving it his all. He was sweating profusely, barely blocking Feng Qi’s relentless attacks. Leng Hao’s defeat seemed to be only a matter of time.
Leng Hao was incredibly anxious. From the first exchange, he knew he was no match for Feng Qi, but he couldn’t retreat with his sister behind him. Even if it meant being truly beaten down by Feng Qi, he clenched his teeth and persisted in order to protect his sister. Leng Hao exerted all the techniques he had kept in reserve, but even so, he stood no chance against Feng Qi.
At this view, Leng Mei’s heart raced with worry. She didn’t want anything to happen to her brother. Unconsciously, she gripped Lin Feng’s hand tightly, her heart pounding, not understanding why Lin Feng still hadn’t made a move...
Yuan Kun, seeing Leng Hao in this state and knowing he had exerted all his strength, felt increasingly delighted. Once Leng Hao was down, it would be Lin Feng’s turn to face misfortune. Tonight’s situation awaited his intervention for salvation! Yuan Kun secretly reveled in his heart at the thought. Only he could orchestrate such a scene, treating everyone like pawns on a chessboard, which gave him a profound sense of accomplishment. Yet his expression grew even tenser, giving onlookers the impression that he was ready to jump into action any moment.
However, all this was just a façade by Yuan Kun. In truth, he was even more eager for Leng Hao to be swiftly defeated, for only then would come his moment to perform.
The battle became increasingly intense, and Leng Hao seemed nearly unable to hold on...
Watching this, Lin Feng knew he couldn’t wait any longer to intervene. But instead of taking action himself, he simply sat there, steadying Leng Mei’s nervous heart while his lips began to move silently...
......
Just as Leng Hao was about to suffer a severe blow from Feng Qi, a voice suddenly appeared in his mind!
"Dodge to the left rear, and kick the lower body."
Driven to a point where he was powerless to retaliate, and in peril, Leng Hao had no time to think. Instinctively, he followed the instruction.
And a miracle happened. Just as Feng Qi thought his move would surely topple Leng Hao, Leng Hao unexpectedly dodged it with a swift counter. As Feng Qi attempted to pursue, he found he couldn’t move forward because Leng Hao’s foot was already targeting his center of gravity. If he continued his advance, he would surely be hit. Left with no choice, Feng Qi had to retreat and evade Leng Hao’s kick.
"Eh..." Feng Qi felt extremely puzzled. What just happened? He had Leng Hao cornered, so how did he suddenly pull off such a move, effectively countering his finishing blow? What... what was going on?
But Feng Qi only hesitated for a moment before rushing back at Leng Hao. Convinced that Leng Hao had merely been lucky, he decided that this time his finishing move would surely down Leng Hao. With that, Feng Qi prepared to unleash his full power and knock Leng Hao to the ground.
"Whoosh!"
With a whistling fist wind, Lin Feng launched a punch toward Leng Hao’s chest, so fast it was astonishing, resembling a bolt of Lightning, charging forward with the momentum of thunder.
Having just narrowly escaped danger, Leng Hao felt incredibly perplexed by the voice that had suddenly emerged in his mind. What was going on? But as he saw Feng Qi rushing towards him with a full-force attack, Leng Hao’s heart raced with urgency once more. The punch was too fast; he couldn’t dodge it, and if he were hit, he would surely be severely injured. What to do... what to do...
At that moment, the voice reappeared in Leng Hao’s head.
"Kick his ’little brother’, then target the lower body to disrupt his rhythm."
Without a second thought, Leng Hao relied on his instinctual reaction and swiftly kicked at Feng Qi’s groin.
"Huh!"
Feng Qi, startled by Leng Hao’s kick, realized that if he continued with his punch, even if he were to hit Leng Hao, he would still get hit in the groin, potentially crippling him, which was not the outcome he wanted. With no other choice, Feng Qi could only halt his attack in dismay and retreat to evade Leng Hao’s deadly kick.
But little did Feng Qi imagine that this retreat would cost him the initiative forever.
Seeing Feng Qi forced into retreat, Leng Hao knew his chance had come. Without a moment’s hesitation, he followed the guidance in his mind and launched a frenzied attack on Feng Qi’s lower body, plunging his opponent into disarray.
Feng Qi was now immensely frustrated; his expertise was in boxing, and he was not as practiced with leg techniques. Overwhelmed by Leng Hao’s onslaught, he could only keep dodging while desperately trying to figure out how to break out of this unfavorable situation.
Suddenly, a light bulb went off in Feng Qi’s mind. He had an idea—to endure Leng Hao’s kick and knock him down with a punch. With that in mind, he took a solid horse stance and threw a fierce punch downward toward Leng Hao’s leg.
"Draw back your leg, then elbow strike the midsection."
The familiar voice echoed in Leng Hao’s mind once more. Immediately trusting the voice, he retracted his leg and his right elbow smashed down toward the indicated area.
"Huh!"
All of a sudden, Feng Qi noticed that his punch had missed its target. Surprised by the sudden withdrawal, and with an ill wind approaching overhead, Feng Qi instinctively raised his arms to guard his head without a moment to think.
As Feng Qi’s fists came down, his head inadvertently lowered into the path of Leng Hao’s right elbow, which was originally aimed at air but now found its mark on Feng Qi’s head.
"Bang!"
Feng Qi stumbled backward several steps from the impact of Leng Hao’s elbow, his vision swarming with stars despite being an AA-grade master. He could not fathom how Leng Hao had suddenly produced such an unexpected move. How was this possible, what was going on?
"Chase him, left leg to his lower body, then a right jab aimed at two o’clock."
The voice in Leng Hao’s mind instructed him once again. By now, Leng Hao had complete faith in the voice, uncertain as to how it appeared but knowing from the previous actions that following its commands was the right move. He resolved to carry out the voice’s directives to the end, certain that he would take down Feng Qi.
With that thought, Leng Hao surged forward, attacking Feng Qi with his left foot and right fist, both strikes whistling through the air. But due to the limitations of his body, his fist fell a bit behind the foot in speed. Although his punch only hit air, Leng Hao was undeterred, confident that the voice’s commands were infallible.
"Huh!" "Huh!"
Feng Qi, seeing Leng Hao’s kick coming his way at a daunting speed, didn’t dare to withstand it and, moving out of habit, dodged to the left. But little did he suspect that Leng Hao’s fist was already waiting for him; this dodge exposed his chest directly to Leng Hao’s incoming punch...
Feng Qi, without time to think about anything else, instinctively protected his chest with his left arm—there was no time left for a counterpunch!
"Bang!"
"Thud thud..."
Feng Qi staggered backward several steps before he could steady himself, feeling numbness in his chest and arm. A wave of shock washed over him; it was as if Leng Hao had completely anticipated his moves. What was going on? How had Leng Hao suddenly become so formidable?
