Extreme Almightiest Young Master

Chapter 489: The Terror of a Grandmaster-Level Trap!

Chapter 489: The Terror of a Grandmaster-Level Trap!

"No problem, keep chasing. They won’t carry much poison. They’re military personnel, they generally wouldn’t do such things. Leave two people to bury him," Ruan Dashan’s expression had become extremely grim by now. He had never expected that the soldiers they were facing would be so formidable, even carrying deadly poison. This was highly unusual, but it didn’t matter. There were still nearly two hundred of them, and the enemy was only about a dozen. As long as they caught up, none of them would be able to escape!

With that thought, Ruan Dashan continued to command the chase, but what he hadn’t dreamed of was that this was just the beginning. Having covered only a few dozen meters, they encountered something even more unexpected.

"Bang!"

The man in front tripped an invisible fishing line, but instinctively, he dove to the ground, trying to avoid danger from above, and at the same time, he shouted, "Danger!"

But he was still a bit too slow. Suddenly, over a dozen scalpel blades flew out, instantly piercing those who had not yet reacted!

"Aaah! Aaah! Aaah!..."

The eight people hit by the blades screamed in pain, frantically searching for their wounds. Yet before they could extract the blades, they were paralyzed and fell to the ground, stopping to breathe after just about fifteen seconds...

"Damn his Laozi! Since when did military personnel start using poison! And such a fierce toxin! All of you, stay alert, spread out, don’t bunch up, watch your step." Seeing this, Ruan Dashan flew into a rage, seething with anger. He was clueless about who they were dealing with, thinking how twisted and capable they were of setting such traps. He had never heard of any military personnel capable of such things; damn, it was so frustrating!

But the pursuit had to continue; otherwise, they wouldn’t be able to face the General. So many brothers had already died. If they didn’t catch these soldiers, the General would not be lenient with them. With that in mind, Ruan Dashan resolved himself to capture these soldiers no matter what.

"Report our current situation to the General. These aren’t ordinary military personnel; they definitely aren’t regular special forces. It seems like they are unprecedented super-elite troops. They’re now fleeing towards direction 301. Ask the General to arrange for support in the capture!" After thinking, Ruan Dashan, wanting to play it safe, called over the person in charge of communication to update Ruan Tiansheng on the situation.

However, after covering less than 100 meters, suddenly, the two leading men were hoisted up by transparent fishing lines, dying without even a chance to make a sound, strangled alive!

Aaah!

Another death!

How did he die?

...

The crowd found the situation incredibly strange, unable to comprehend how these two people had died. Logically, being hoisted up shouldn’t lead to such swift deaths; there would’ve been enough time to draw a dagger and cut the fishing line. Yet, these two men stopped breathing in less than two seconds from being suspended. What... what in the world was going on?

By now, Ruan Dashan’s men had begun to feel fear. Since the minefield, they hadn’t even covered three hundred meters and had already lost over ten men, all dying under unclear circumstances. Who... who were these soldiers ahead? Their ways didn’t seem to reflect military personnel at all; they were more like an incredibly sinister, super assassin organization. This... this was just too...

"Damn it! Who exactly are those ahead? These ********, they aren’t acting like military at all. Damn, even assassins aren’t as sneaky as them. Everyone be even more careful. I refuse to believe that while we’re chasing them, they would have enough time to set up these weird contraptions. Once we catch them, we’ll flay and tear them to bits to avenge our fallen brothers!"

Ruan Dashan was afraid now too because the situation was just too eerie. These people were clearly not the usual border guards and SWAT they had encountered before. They were elite among elites and also those who had no shame and were invincibly cunning. He wondered when honest military personnel began to resort to such tactics. This ********, they didn’t seem like military at all. It was also unclear why they had come here; it was simply too eerie!

His underlings were now being as cautious as they could, spreading out and each holding a branch, knocking it on the ground while walking forward, not wanting to be the next to die inexplicably and feel such suffocation.

But no matter how careful they were, what was bound to come would still come.

"Boom!"

A bomb, without warning, dropped from the sky, eerily exploding one meter above the ground. A single bomb wouldn’t normally kill many, but this one had been covered with mud and carefully rigged with a circle of scalpel blades around it, tearing apart everything they passed through like the teeth of a shark.

"Aaah!"

"Aaah!"

"Ah!"

...

At that point, everyone within a 60-meter radius of the bomb had no chance of escape. They were all pierced by the sharp surgical blades, and each person understood what the deadly shrapnel meant; they knew instantly that they were done for. What frustrated them the most was that they hadn’t even seen the enemy and were about to die in confusion. They had even given up trying to remove the blades lodged in their bodies because they knew it was futile.

Sure enough, after a dozen seconds or so, the forty plus people who had been struck by the blades all stopped breathing. They lay in a circle around the site of the explosion, bodies everywhere.

"Fuck his great uncle! Get the General on the line now!" Seeing this, Ruan Dashan’s eyes bulged with bloodshot fury. This battle was going depressingly shitty; just what the hell was going on? Who the hell were these people, laying traps so inconceivable they were utterly unavoidable?

They hadn’t gone far in their pursuit when they had already fucking lost fifty to sixty men without even seeing the enemy. How were they supposed to fight this battle? Ruan Dashan no longer had any clue what to do and could only report to Ruan Tiansheng via the walkie-talkie.

"General, this is Dashan. We’ve hit a snag. More than two hundred of us went out, and within less than five hundred meters, we’ve lost fifty to sixty men. What should we do? This fight is too damn suffocating; we can’t even see the enemy!"

"You fucking wastes! By all means, waste those bastards! If you can’t catch anyone, don’t bother coming back. Do I really need to teach you this? Stop fucking wasting my time with your chatter!"

Upon learning of Ruan Dashan’s predicament, Ruan Tiansheng exploded with rage. What fucking good-for-nothing trash; how could they have lost so many men without even catching sight of the enemy? No matter what, they had to eliminate these soldiers. If he wasn’t mistaken, they were here to cause trouble in the Golden Triangle. That’s why there had been so many different forces attacking him lately. Hence, now that they had a trace of these people, he was determined to waste them at all costs!

After shouting at Ruan Dashan, Ruan Tiansheng called over his most trusted henchmen and ordered two of them to lead two hundred men each and lay an ambush near location 301. If those people made it to 301, they were to wipe out the soldiers on the spot, promising a reward of 200,000 for each kill plus a woman!

After arranging all of this, Ruan Tiansheng sat back down in his chair and lit a cigar, puffing away as he seethed inwardly, thinking, "Dare to fuck with Laozi? I’m going to fucking play you to death!"

Ruan Dashan realized that Ruan Tiansheng had hung up and knew that today’s trouble was likely insurmountable. The General’s words had never been taken back. If they couldn’t catch these soldiers, the only thing waiting for him was a dead end. Thinking of this, Ruan Dashan hardened his heart and roared at his brothers in front of him.

"Brothers, the General just said that if we kill those ahead of us, he will reward us handsomely. There’s cash, there are women. For our fallen brothers, let’s charge together and kill these soldiers, letting them see what we’re made of!"

With no other options, Ruan Dashan could only inspire his men with false promises, aiming to kill those soldiers ahead. Otherwise, everyone here would die! After his shout, Ruan Dashan picked up a long stick and ran to the front of the troops, leading the charge.

Seeing Ruan Dashan leading the charge, everyone closely followed, intent on killing those ahead to claim the General’s promised rewards of money and women. But they had no idea that Ruan Dashan was deceiving them; all they had in mind was catching up to and killing those ahead!

Death continued unabated, and time did not stop.

"Ah!"

"Ah!"

"Ah!"

...

Ten minutes later, Ruan Dashan, leading the pursuit with over two hundred men, was left with fewer than ten. These remaining few were utterly terror-stricken. The radio operator kept transmitting the current situation to Ruan Tiansheng, but they didn’t know that Ruan Tiansheng wasn’t listening to them; he was busy venting his frustrations with two women...

Ruan Dashan, like the rest of his men, was panic-stricken. They stood petrified, not daring to advance any further, knowing that to continue would be the path to certain death. Looking at the road ahead that led to Hell, Ruan Dashan felt regret for the first time, regretting why he had come to reinforce them, as that led to this outcome.

Suddenly, a burst of gunfire erupted from the jungle, startling birds that took flight en masse...

...

Xia Yong and his men followed Lin Feng through the minefield, watching him set up all manner of strange traps left and right. The men were sweating cold beads of fear, thankful that there was no second Lin Feng in this world. Otherwise, if they were enemies with him, they would end up like those drug traffickers, dying without knowing how they met their end!
