Extreme Almightiest Young Master

Chapter 462 Save Duoduo

Chapter 462 Save Duoduo

"All right, that’s it. I’m going to arrange for someone to do the hit. As long as the person dies, we both can rest easy." After Lin Qiu finished speaking, he hung up and immediately called the top assassin he had hired. The three of them were a small collective, seamlessly coordinated, and many a strongman had fallen at their hands.

"There are two more targets. Same rules, ten million per head. Are you taking the job?" Lin Qiu got straight to the point as soon as the call connected.

"What targets?" Yin Tian, dressed in a full set of camo and not very tall but with an exceptionally cold countenance, was not surprised by Lin Qiu’s call. He directly asked for details, as the assassination team’s leader, he had to be responsible for the lives of his members, so he needed to understand clearly who the targets were.

"Great South Gang’s boss Qian Duoduo and a French teacher from Yingbo University, Lin Feng." Lin Qiu stated two names. He was quite familiar with the style of these assassins—it was cruel and to the point, exactly how it should be with them.

"Qian Duoduo, thirty million, Lin Feng, ten million. If that’s fine with you, we’ll take the job." Yin Tian was taken aback by the two names. He had heard of Qian Duoduo, mainly about the Blood Kill Thirteen Guards, but as the boss of Great South Gang, a price of ten million was indeed too low, and killing Qian Duoduo would undoubtedly be dangerous. He wondered how many of the Blood Kill Thirteen Guards were by her side, so he took a moment and gave a price he thought was reasonable.

"Deal! But I won’t pay unless they both die!" Lin Qiu immediately agreed upon hearing Yin Tian’s demand. Money was not an issue; as long as Qian Duoduo and Lin Feng died, and Ruan Jun kept his promise to him, he would indeed make a fortune. The money was trivial in comparison.

"You’ll have the result before tonight," Yin Tian stated and then hung up. There was no time to delay; he immediately busied himself gathering the other two brothers to arrange the specifics of the operation. This matter had to be meticulously planned; otherwise, it could easily cause trouble. The Blood Kill Thirteen Guards were not to be trifled with.

Lin Qiu felt relieved upon hearing the click of the phone hanging up. There had yet to be a person they couldn’t kill. Although the price was a bit steep, the high cost came with good reason. As long as Qian Duoduo and Lin Feng could be eliminated, everything else would open up for him in the future...

Now, Lin Qiu was indulging in fantasies about the great advantages he’d gain after Qian Duoduo and Lin Feng died. The mere thought of it filled him with joy.

...

After leaving Chu Meng’s house, Lin Feng returned home and began to use old software to hack into the banking system, attempting to get the highest level of access in order to check that mysterious account. However, to his surprise, not long after running the program, he received a call from Ding Wan’er.

"Hello, Wan’er, what’s up?" Lin Feng glanced at the time; Ding Wan’er was usually at work now. Why did she have time to call him today?

"Lin Feng, about last night, I’ve just arranged to go out for coffee with Sister Leng. I plan to let you speak to Leng Mei. Are you free?" Ding Wan’er cut straight to the purpose of her call. She had been worried about Leng Mei’s situation all morning and finally decided it was best to invite her out, then have Lin Feng speak to her. After lunch, she called and made coffee plans with Leng Mei.

To Ding Wan’er’s surprise, Sister Leng agreed promptly without any delay. This was a positive start. With the time and place set, Ding Wan’er hung up and called Lin Feng, hoping he could seize the opportunity to clear things up and give Leng Mei some guidance.

However, after dialing, Ding Wan’er remembered that Lin Feng had taken the day off to tend to some business and wasn’t sure if he’d be available. But since arrangements were already made, she could only hope that he would go.

"Okay, tell me the time and place." Lin Feng quickly understood that he was being asked to speak to Leng Mei and agreed right away. Leng Mei’s issue would have to be addressed sooner or later, and resolving it earlier would spare her further pain. With that in mind, he set aside what he was doing and inquired about the time and place Ding Wan’er had arranged with Leng Mei so he could make it there.

"Four o’clock in the afternoon, at the Green Island Cafe across from the school. We agreed to have coffee and then dinner together. You can accompany Sister Leng in the evening; I’ll just go home by myself, don’t worry about me."

Hearing Lin Feng’s question, Ding Wan’er immediately provided the details. Sister Leng must be having a hard time lately, and having Lin Feng’s company might do her some good. To ensure Lin Feng wouldn’t worry about her, Ding Wan’er made it clear that she would go home alone, urging Lin Feng to focus on helping Leng Mei. If Sister Leng’s emotional struggles could be resolved, she wouldn’t be so tormented anymore, and brighter days would lie ahead. That was what Ding Wan’er needed most.

"Okay, I’ll be there on time. Be careful driving by yourself, Wan’er. I’m going to hang up now and rush to the university." After hearing Ding Wan’er mention the 4 o’clock meeting at Green Island Cafe opposite Yingbo University, Lin Feng glanced at his watch and felt he had enough time. So he agreed to meet and reminded Ding Wan’er to drive carefully before hanging up the phone and getting into his car to head to the university.

Upon hearing the dial tone on the phone, Ding Wan’er knew that Lin Feng must be rushing to drive to the university and must be quite a distance away. However, there was no need to worry; as long as Lin Feng had promised, he would definitely make it on time. The rest was up to Lin Feng.

...

By the time Lin Feng arrived at Green Island Cafe, it was already 3:55 p.m. The journey had taken a bit longer than expected, and spotting a newly opened gift shop, Lin Feng suddenly remembered that he had never given Leng Mei anything. Spurred by a sudden impulse, he got out of the car, picked out a rather special gift for Leng Mei—a music box with a clown inside that looked quite interesting—and decided to give it to her.

After parking his car, Lin Feng entered the cafe and started looking for Leng Mei’s seat. He immediately spotted her sitting alone and quietly in a corner, deep in thought with furrowed brows, as if pondering over some problem.

"What are you thinking about?" Lin Feng walked over and sat down directly, observing Leng Mei in front of him. He also noticed that she seemed to have lost quite a bit of weight recently, her skin had become even paler, and her complexion suggested she had been resting poorly. Only then did Lin Feng realize how upset Leng Mei had been these last few days. If he had known, he would have consoled her earlier and not let her suffer so much.

"I’m not thinking about anything. Hm? Lin Feng, it’s you?" Just as Leng Mei was contemplating how to face Lin Feng and Ding Wan’er, even considering leaving Yingbo University, she truly did not want to vie for her friend’s husband. Just then, she suddenly heard someone asking her what she was thinking and instinctively responded.

It was only after she spoke that she registered the voice belonged to Lin Feng. Shocked, she wondered why it was Lin Feng and how he knew she was here. Wasn’t he supposed to meet up with Ding Wan’er for coffee and then dinner? What was going on?

"Wan’er sent me over. You don’t need to wait for her anymore. Here’s a little gift for you, I saw it on the way here and thought it was interesting, so I bought it for you," Lin Feng replied simply, understanding her confusion about why he was there and not Ding Wan’er. This visit was intended to address the very issue troubling Leng Mei, and with that in mind, Lin Feng handed her the music box.

"Oh, thank you. So that’s what it is." Hearing Lin Feng’s explanation, Leng Mei had not expected Ding Wan’er to arrange the meeting on Lin Feng’s behalf, which made her somewhat nervous. She already had a hunch about why Lin Feng had replaced Ding Wan’er in coming to see her. Then she quickly relaxed a bit when she saw the music box Lin Feng had given her, finding the dancing clown on top quite amusing and liking the special gift very much.

Leng Mei also knew that whatever was destined to happen would surely come to pass, but she had not expected everything to unfold so quickly, and she was afraid of what the outcome might be. She feared she may lose even the right to stay by Lin Feng’s side...

"Wan’er and I are both very distressed seeing you like this, so..." Lin Feng saw that Leng Mei was relatively calm, so he decided to discuss the matter he and Ding Wan’er had deliberated over, hoping to resolve Leng Mei’s inner turmoil and spare her from further pain.

Just as Lin Feng was about to get to the main point, his phone suddenly rang, which puzzled him—how could it be such a coincidence? However, when Lin Feng took out his phone and saw that it was Ding Yi’s number, he became serious. Ding Yi wouldn’t typically call him at this time, so his call meant something important must have happened.

With this thought, Lin Feng gestured to Leng Mei and immediately answered the call, but the voice on the line wasn’t Ding Yi’s—it was that of the old rascal Qian Rong.

"Lin Feng! You damn kid, why did you take so long to answer? Hurry to the military district’s general hospital, Duoduo’s had an accident—she’s been blasted to within an inch of her life! You... you get over here quick and save Duoduo!" Qian Rong, who had always been able to handle situations with composure, was now utterly panicked. Qian Duoduo was his everything, and if something happened to her, Qian Rong would stop at nothing, even if it meant destruction for all involved, to take revenge on whoever was responsible. Now his only hope was that Lin Feng could arrive in time to save Qian Duoduo’s life.

"Got it! I’ll be there right away!" Lin Feng said and then hung up the phone promptly, slapped a bill on the table, and grabbed Leng Mei, leading her swiftly out of the cafe. There was no time to waste—for all he knew, Qian Duoduo’s injuries could be severe, and he had to get there as quickly as possible. With this thought, Lin Feng, leading Leng Mei, moved even faster, vanishing from the cafe in the blink of an eye.

Taking Leng Mei without delay, Lin Feng hit the gas and began racing down the streets, racing against time to save Qian Duoduo’s life.
