Chapter 1938 - 1920: Myriad Flame Tower

Chapter 1938 - 1920: Myriad Flame Tower

"It’s fine, let’s go in and take a look," Lin Feng said with a faint smile at this moment, and after speaking, he stepped in directly.

Seeing Lin Feng entering like this, Wuchen Ancestor hurriedly followed. Soon, the two arrived at the location of the Myriad Flame Tower.

The cave’s exit had no path, and in front was a vast space, hundreds of feet wide and over a hundred feet high. Strangely, there were no pillars, yet it hadn’t collapsed. Looking down, there was nothing but rolling magma, turning the entire space into a fiery red hue that dazzled the eyes.

A black tower, towering thirty to forty feet high, stood in the magma. It was unclear what material this black tower was made of; it showed no change in the magma and was obviously not ordinary. Even more astonishing were the three archaic characters on the tower body, burning with flame – Myriad Flame Tower.

Looking at this Myriad Flame Tower, Lin Feng understood why Wuchen Ancestor and others couldn’t approach it. This tower was definitely left here intentionally by a powerful being, and Lin Feng and Wuchen Ancestor, standing at the cave’s edge, could feel the intense heat. To say more than just approach – even being at the cave entrance was unimaginable without the strength of the Human Immortal Realm.

"Sect Master Lin, that is the Myriad Flame Tower. I once tried to approach it, but I couldn’t get within a hundred feet. Otherwise, these old bones of mine would have been roasted alive. The closer you get to the Myriad Flame Tower, the higher the temperature. I once tested a cold iron Dharma Treasure at a hundred feet, and it turned into molten iron in a breath."

Pointing at the Myriad Flame Tower, Wuchen Ancestor briefly explained, recalling his exploration that made his heart palpitate. He had taken some elixirs and had the strength of the Human Immortal Realm Peak, but still couldn’t get within a hundred feet. Even weapons used for testing melted into iron in such temperatures. No one could survive here.

"Hmm, you wait here for me; I’ll go check it out." After listening to Wuchen Ancestor, Lin Feng nodded, left a simple sentence, and then walked toward the Myriad Flame Tower under Wuchen Ancestor’s gaze.

Floating about ten feet above the magma, Lin Feng was at ease and leisurely walked toward the Myriad Flame Tower. There was no suspense for the first several hundred feet – it passed in a few breaths. Approaching the hundred-foot range, Wuchen Ancestor’s breathing tensed, unsure if Lin Feng could withstand it.

What Wuchen Ancestor hadn’t anticipated was that Lin Feng entered the hundred-foot range without a hitch, as if the flames had no effect at all. This left Wuchen Ancestor puzzled, wondering how Lin Feng could ignore the heat. It was unbelievable!

No, what was that faint red flame on Lin Feng?

Suddenly, he noticed a very faint red flame on Lin Feng that he hadn’t seen before due to the red glow of the magma. Lin Feng wasn’t without precautions; he just didn’t know what that faint red flame was about. Lin Feng was indeed extraordinary with unheard-of methods!

Before he could say anything, Lin Feng entered the fifty-foot range of the Myriad Flame Tower, and suddenly, a change occurred!

The magma around the Myriad Flame Tower erupted towards Lin Feng. This erupting magma wasn’t the peripheral fiery red but slightly golden, clearly not ordinary magma! As this slightly golden magma appeared, the surrounding space’s temperature rapidly increased. Even at the cave entrance, Wuchen Ancestor’s face changed as he struggled to cope with the tremendous heat, forcibly circulating Gang Qi to resist the indescribable high temperature.

"Lin Feng, come back quickly, it’s dangerous!"

At this point, regardless of anything else, he exclaimed. He really didn’t want Lin Feng to get hurt. Who knew what that magma was? The temperature would be unbearable not only for humans but even for Demon Beasts. Now, he just wanted Lin Feng to stop and quickly return.

But his shout seemed too late, and in the blink of an eye, Lin Feng was engulfed by that unusual magma, turning his face dark instantly. The temperature far exceeded normal circumstances, enveloping Lin Feng and seeming impossible for him to survive, not even leaving ashes.

"Lin Feng... it’s my fault..." Wuchen Ancestor said in grief. To him, Lin Feng couldn’t have survived. That unusual magma was surely a safeguard of the Myriad Flame Tower. Hit by the magma, no matter how divine his skills, Lin Feng couldn’t live...

However, just as his voice trailed off, the unusual magma subsided, and his eyes widened because he saw Lin Feng, standing in place, unharmed except for a faint red flame burning on him, leaving him dumbfounded, unable to understand how Lin Feng survived the magma, or how he stayed unharmed under such high temperatures. Is Lin Feng still human? How did he do it?

"Don’t worry about me. I’m fine," Lin Feng waved his hand in the air towards Wuchen Ancestor and said, and then under Wuchen Ancestor’s stunned gaze, continued walking toward the Myriad Flame Tower.

But from then on, things were no longer as calm as before. With every step Lin Feng took, a wisp of lava shot toward him. However, not a single wisp could harm him, as all were blocked by that faint red flame. Even when the lava turned golden, it still had no effect on Lin Feng.

Under the astonished gaze of the Wuchen Ancestor, Lin Feng finally ascended the Myriad Flame Tower. At that moment, all the lava attacks abruptly ceased and vanished without a trace, as if nothing had ever happened.

This... how is this possible!

Wuchen Ancestor was so shocked by the scene that he couldn’t utter a single word. Standing at the cave entrance, even he couldn’t withstand the increasingly intense temperature, forcing him to step back a hundred feet to barely cope. Yet, Lin Feng was able to walk through such heat. Anyone would find it unbelievable!

Looking from afar at Lin Feng standing on the Myriad Flame Tower, Wuchen Ancestor was at a loss for words. No words could describe his current shock; Lin Feng’s actions were astoundingly supernatural. He didn’t even know how to articulate his astonishment at Lin Feng, as words were insufficient.

"Ancestor, I’m fine. If you have nothing else to do, please wait outside." Lin Feng said calmly while looking at Wuchen Ancestor from a distance. It wasn’t easy for him on the way over, but fortunately, he had the Body Refinement from the Burning-Flame Fire, which had reformed him and left a trace of the Burning-Flame Fire. Without these, he wasn’t sure he could approach the Myriad Flame Tower.

Upon hearing Lin Feng’s reassurance, Wuchen Ancestor nodded. Since Lin Feng had no issues, nothing should go wrong. Whatever else there was to know, he could find out once Lin Feng came out, so he quickly turned and left.

After Wuchen Ancestor departed, Lin Feng began to seriously inspect the Myriad Flame Tower.

He had no idea what material made up the whole tower, as it was pitch black without any reflection. Strangely enough, in such a blistering environment, there was no discomfort around the Myriad Flame Tower; the temperature was similar to the outside. This situation piqued Lin Feng’s curiosity.

With questions in mind, Lin Feng began searching for the entrance to the Myriad Flame Tower. After circling the tower, he couldn’t find a way in, making him even more puzzled, thinking it impossible for the Myriad Flame Tower to have no entrance.

Considering this, he carefully examined around it and, surprisingly, finally found the entrance at the top of the tower, concealed by the tower’s flaming characters. Without close observation, the entrance would have been undetectable.

With a wry smile, Lin Feng moved and stepped into the entrance.

Upon entering the Myriad Flame Tower, Lin Feng suddenly felt darkness enveloping him. A black spiral staircase appeared. Within the tower, unknown occurrences caused light screens to appear on the walls, illuminating the staircase clearly; although not very bright, the stairs were unmistakably visible.

Without much thought, Lin Feng followed the staircase downward, unexpectedly walking for over two hours. If not for the ever-widening angle of the staircase, he might have wondered if he’d encountered formations like those at the Death Abyss.

Continuing downward for an hour, the spiral staircase finally ended, giving way to a pitch-black hall.

The hall appeared circular, roughly two to three miles in diameter. In the center stood an altar-like structure, and numerous white light spheres on the surrounding stone walls illuminated the entire hall as if it were daylight.

Gazing at the altar-like object, Lin Feng knew this altar must hold the secrets of the Myriad Flame Tower, so he stepped forward.

"Whoosh..."

As Lin Feng stepped into the altar, a burst of golden flames erupted from it, its hue akin to that of gold, instantly filling the hall with golden light. More terrifying was the sudden spike in temperature within the hall, as if the flame weren’t just a flame but a sun.

Witnessing this, Lin Feng furrowed his brow and instantly released both the Burning-Flame Fire and the Fire of Heart Flame outside his body, prioritizing his survival. He definitely didn’t want to perish there; that would be a huge loss.
