Chapter 163: Ran Another Lap!
Chapter 163: Ran Another Lap!
Lin Feng drove the car to the starting point of the race and then slowly came to a stop.
Feeling the car finally stopping, Ye Xiaoyu and Mao Rongrong rushed out and ran to the side of the road to start vomiting profusely.
"Oh my God, never again will I race like this. This isn’t the thrilling experience they talk about in movies; it’s pure torture! Ugh..." While throwing up, Ye Xiaoyu complained to Lin Feng. This was far from the ’slight discomfort’ Teacher Lin mentioned; it felt like death itself! So, the stuff in the movies was all lies, huh? Street racing isn’t passionate at all; it’s just self-inflicted suffering. I swear, I’ll never do this again—why is it so awful!
"It’s because you believed the scenes in movies. But really, I feel so terrible, ugh..." Mao Rongrong felt her legs go weak and her head spin. The sensation was unbearable. All that was left was an overwhelming urge to vomit. She vowed to stop Teacher Lin from ever racing again; it was too dangerous. She was so scared she didn’t dare to open her eyes. Had she done so, she might have been scared to death!
"Don’t move, you two. I’ll rub it out and you’ll be fine," Lin Feng said as he watched them vomit. He walked over and started to rub behind their ears. After a while, both of them stopped throwing up.
"Teacher Lin, how did you do that? I’m not vomiting anymore, and I don’t feel sick!" Ye Xiaoyu was astonished. Just a rub behind the ears from Teacher Lin and she wasn’t sick or vomiting—how miraculous! What was going on?
"Thank you, Teacher Lin, I’m feeling much better." At first, Mao Rongrong was a bit nervous when Teacher Lin touched her ears, but after he rubbed them for a while, she no longer felt the urge to throw up and her bodily reactions gradually returned to normal. She was indeed feeling much better, preferring the comfort of returning to normal.
"It’s nothing," said Lin Feng. As soon as he finished speaking, a row of car headlights flashed by. Huang Shi and his crew arrived back at the spot in their sports cars.
Although Huang Shi had already anticipated this outcome on the road, facing it directly was still excruciatingly painful. A bunch of branded sports cars had lost to an ordinary A7, which was a huge blow to their pride. It seemed he wouldn’t be driving his Lamborghini anymore; being laughed at would be worse than not driving at all. But no matter what, as the leader of this group, he had to confront the situation. A boss had to act like a boss!
"We lost, the money is yours," Huang Shi’s voice was low because he really didn’t want to acknowledge this fact, but he had to face it. Ah, what had happened today? He thought they were going to win some money, but the outcome was completely unexpected.
Damn! Just what kind of car is this damn A7? How could it be so fast? I’ve never heard of this junk being able to run so swiftly. How does it run like it’s on aphrodisiacs today? How are we supposed to hang out in Tianhai’s young masters’ circle after this!
But his driving skills are seriously off the charts; driving that old A7 and beating all of us in branded sports cars is just too awesome!
"Damn, there’s nothing to say if someone’s driving surpasses ours, but I want to know what you meant by overtaking us from behind that one time. Are you trying to provoke us because you find us displeasing, giving us an extra thrill from behind on purpose? Are you challenging us, looking for trouble?" Ye Feng said, looking at Lin Feng, completely enraged. We’ve lost fair and square, but this isn’t the way you play. Do you think it’s funny to provoke us? Do you know who we are? If you don’t give me a satisfactory answer, I’ll investigate you. If you don’t apologize to us on your own, I won’t take the name Ye.
Hearing Boss Huang and Ye Feng’s words, the others didn’t interject because what they said represented their doubts. They were already too busy listening, so how could they interrupt!
"Nothing much, just that after completing a lap, I saw there was still time, so I ran another lap," Lin Feng casually stated the truth while looking at Huang Shi and Ye Feng.
However, he didn’t realize that his words had left everyone on the scene dumbfounded. They all looked at him as if they had seen a ghost. What did he mean by having time for another lap? The Tianhai City outer ring is over 100 kilometers; how long does it take to run a lap? It’s not something you can just decide to do, especially when the minimum speed during their race was over 140-150 km/h. If it takes others one lap, and he did two, then just how fast was his speed? It was unimaginable!
"What... what!" As Huang Shi heard Lin Feng’s words, his mouth hung open wide, motionless, and his heart thudded violently. Good heavens! Is he even human? We, the sports car drivers, had just completed one lap, and he in an A7 had done two; how fast must he have been going? Our average speed was about 140, so his average would have had to be over 280...
Lord above! I can’t even reach those speeds on an empty track, let alone on the ring road with other traffic. I would have been in an accident long ago going at that speed. But there Lin Feng stood, perfectly fine, and his A7 without a scratch. How did he do it, driving on such complex roads at those speeds? One miscalculation and it could be car wreck and fatality. Is his brain a computer? It’s just not possible for a human to react that quickly!
Who exactly is he? Even the world’s most famous racing champions might not be able to achieve such speed, and someone with top-tier racing skills like these couldn’t possibly be unknown. If I had known how good his techniques were, why did I even bother to race him just now? It was like voluntarily getting slapped in the face. Losing money is a minor issue, but the blow to my pride is massive. How can I drive my Lamborghini out again after this, and how can our group have the nerve to race in Tianhai City again?
No, as soon as I get back, I need to arrange for someone to thoroughly investigate who this young man really is. I want to apprentice myself to him. With his level of racing skills, I could definitely become a famous racer in the world one day—that’s my dream!
"Had time to run another lap? Damn..." Ye Feng was so stimulated by Lin Feng’s words he didn’t know what to say. What do you mean you ran a lap and checked if there was time for another? You’re just damn well mocking us, making us look like a bunch of idiots driving vintage cars. Our average speed was already over 140, and you still lapped us? Just what the **** speed were you going at then? A conservative estimate would be an average speed of over 280 km/h!
At that speed, you just can’t react in time to the cars ahead. No normal person could possibly drive over 280 km/h on a road with that many cars. How did he do it? Does he have some kind of special ability that lets him see the future?
Who exactly is he? There couldn’t possibly be such a car god in Tianhai; otherwise, our group would have known about it by now. With his skill level, he could definitely win a world-class racing championship. Why did he come to Tianhai to play the role of a pig to eat a tiger and swindle us all, making us lose face completely? I really don’t understand what he’s thinking, did we ever provoke or offend him?
But he’s too young. I often watch the World Championships, and there are no Asian drivers, let alone European ones, who are this young. He looks only two years older than me, but how come his skills are so freakish? I’ve definitely never seen him in the World Championships, so who is he, and where did he learn such freakish driving skills? If I knew where he learned them, I’d go there even if I had to go bankrupt!
"He’s not human!"
"A demon!"
"When did Tianhai have such a divine being?"
"The A7 can go that fast..."
"Madman, definitely a madman!"
...
Heavens, who is he? Could he really be some immortal or monster? Even idiots can tell how fast his car is by now, twice the speed of my own car, which is to say, a speed of over 280 km/h. How many can react at such a high speed? Even when I drive on this kind of road, I have to be extremely careful to dodge and overtake, yet he managed to reach double our speed. How did he control the car, overtake, and avoid other vehicles, or were the other cars just like stationary pieces of wood for him?
But even if the other cars were just like stationary pieces of wood, you couldn’t possibly drive that fast. That’s over 80 meters per second! Heavens, that’s frightening. At such a high speed, how could a human brain even process information that quickly? Is he really still human?
"Teacher Lin just did two laps?" Ye Xiaoyu was completely dumbfounded now. Didn’t Teacher Lin just do one lap? How did it become two laps? Considering the speed that group of sports cars was going, and that Teacher Lin was a whole lap ahead, it means his speed was twice theirs. Just how fast was Teacher Lin driving? I don’t even dare to think! No wonder we felt so bad just now; it was because Teacher Lin was going too fast, which is why Sister Rongrong and I ended up getting so sick. At that speed, how could we not feel terrible, but how come Teacher Lin seemed unaffected at all? It doesn’t make sense!
Teacher Lin’s racing skills are incredible. He left those branded sports cars a lap behind on the public roads; such speed could scare someone to death!
But the thing is, Teacher Lin is a teacher, not a professional racer. How could he possibly drive a car that well? These are two completely different extremes: a French teacher, and a top racing driver. These two professions have nothing in common, so how could they possibly overlap in Teacher Lin? If I told this story to a hundred people, definitely not a single one would believe it!
