Chapter 1473 - 1471 Watching the Sunrise
Chapter 1473 - 1471 Watching the Sunrise
Moyan was much more composed in comparison to Xia Lalan. Originally, some top-tier powerhouses on her Heaven Profound Continent could engage in combat via Divine Sense. However, only those above the Earth Immortal Realm could do this. She couldn’t help but wonder if Lin Feng was already an Earth Immortal. This... this was too exaggerated. Lin Feng looked under twenty years old yet had already reached Earth Immortal status, which was unbelievable. Even a genius would be labeled a legend if they reached the Earth Immortal Realm at one hundred—they could never imagine such a thing otherwise...
"Alright, don’t think too much about it. Rest up."
Seeing the astonished expressions of the two women, Lin Feng immediately understood what they were thinking. After saying this nonchalantly, he left their room. If he stayed any longer, they would likely barrage him with questions. He didn’t want to waste time on that; as long as they understood his meaning, that would suffice.
After leaving the room, Lin Feng moved and appeared in the clouds above the Oblivion Sect, pondering over the events of the past few days like a statue.
The next day, the sun shone bright, casting rays across the world. Lin Feng watched the sunrise from the clouds and suddenly opened his eyes, sending a golden light shooting to the horizon!
Nice!
Lin Feng’s face broke into a smile. After discussing with the Wuchen Ancestor, many of the previously obscure concepts became clear, making him feel as though he’d gained much from a night of contemplation. His Divine Sense scanned below at Xia Lalan and Moyan, finding the two still immersed in cultivation. With a flicker, Lin Feng returned to their room.
"Lin Feng, you’re back." Xia Lalan sensed someone enter the room. Upon opening her eyes to see Lin Feng, she immediately greeted him with a smile. For some reason, she felt a sense of emptiness from not seeing Lin Feng all night.
"Good day, my lord." Moyan also smiled in greeting when she saw Lin Feng, feeling an indescribably comforting presence whenever he was near.
"Yes, I’m back. How did you both rest last night?" Lin Feng responded coolly to their greetings. Looking at the two women, his heart felt warm. They were the only ones by his side now, so naturally, he hoped they hadn’t been disturbed.
"Don’t worry, my lord. Lanlan and I had no problems. We chatted last night without anyone disturbing us." Moyan quickly explained when Lin Feng asked, thankful for the Wuchen Ancestor’s instructions that even the bravest in the Oblivion Sect wouldn’t dare disturb them. So, they spent a quiet night chatting away their time.
"Yes, nothing happened to Sister Moyan and me. We chatted late into the night. If you were here, it would’ve probably gone even later." Xia Lalan added, looking at Lin Feng. However, after speaking, her heart raced strangely, feeling a tad unnatural.
"Chatting late into the night—what topics kept you talking?" Lin Feng’s curiosity piqued at their words. For two people always together, what topics could keep them conversing the whole night?
"Nothing much... Moyan... Moyan, you ask Sister Moyan!" Xia Lalan never expected Lin Feng to inquire about this and became flustered. She and Moyan had spent the entire night discussing Lin Feng. If he discovered her mind’s musings, how could she face him afterward?
Xia Lalan had never thought that straightforward answers would have gone unnoticed by Lin Feng. But her frantic response revealed her thoughts, sparking a notion within Lin Feng to tease Xia Lalan. With a knowingly mischievous smile, he asked her, "Really? I don’t believe you. Surely, you talked about me?"
"No... no way it was about you... you overthink it... you can ask Sister Moyan!" Xia Lalan hadn’t anticipated he’d guess the conversation, growing more flustered, her face as red as a ripe apple, with her heart pounding like a frantic rabbit. She felt utterly at a loss.
The fact that last night they discussed all matters related to Lin Feng—his life, his everything—was something Xia Lalan couldn’t bring herself to reveal. She felt it wasn’t the time for Lin Feng to know, so she was baffled about facing him should he find out.
Seeing Xia Lalan in such a disarray, Lin Feng stood still, grinning broadly, capitalizing on her adorable inability to lie. The happier Lin Feng became, seeing her charmingly flushed face, the more he realized how well he had guessed.
But as Lin Feng continued staring at her without speaking, Xia Lalan grew even more anxious, fearing he might learn something more. Her cheeks blushed hotter, feeling like a child who had done something wrong, completely unsure of what to do.
Moyan, watching from the side, couldn’t help but cover her mouth to stifle laughter. Seeing Xia Lalan so embarrassed, she eventually spoke up to defuse the situation: "My lord, don’t make it hard for Lanlan. We were just chatting about girl things, not suitable for you to hear."
"Oh, then I won’t ask further." Lin Feng nodded at Moyan’s words, recognizing her effort to help Xia Lalan back down gracefully. He had only meant to tease Xia Lalan and never intended to embarrass her, so he replied as though he genuinely believed Moyan’s explanation.
"My lord, do you have any plans today?" Moyan shifted the topic, understanding Lin Feng didn’t want to continue teasing Xia Lalan. Seeing Lin Feng appear amongst them surely meant something; she was eager to know his intentions.
"Nothing major—just wanted to take you both up to the sky to see the sunrise. It’s different from those in the Secular World," Lin Feng replied casually. He intended to share the experience with them, allowing them to feel the wonder of watching sunrise from the clouds.
"That sounds great!"
"As the lord wishes."
Excited by his proposal, Xia Lalan and Moyan both expressed their eagerness, curious about what made this sunrise different.
Seeing their agreement, Lin Feng, without further ado, enveloped the two women in a flash of golden light, whisking them into the sky. In an instant, they reached the cloud tops. Upon arrival, Xia Lalan and Moyan were instantly struck dumb by the view!
The clouds around the Oblivion Sect were thick, a sea of mist swirling gently above. A pale red sun rose steadily, lighting the skies with warm, unobtrusive light that felt soothing, casting rainbow hues upon the clouds as if they were entering a fantastical world!
"So... beautiful!"
Both women echoed each other’s sentiments; this breathtaking sunrise far exceeded their imagination. Without Lin Feng, they’d never have had the chance to witness such beauty wrought by nature’s brilliance!
They stood transfixed, gazing endlessly at the ascending red sun, as a peculiar, enchanting feeling engulfed their hearts, drawing them entirely into that sensation.
Seeing them so captivated, Lin Feng shared a knowing smile, choosing to stay silently by their side, watching the crimson dawn together...
......
The news of Lin Feng being taken spread swiftly through the Hidden World, creating ripples. The Gu and Kong Families, already weakened by the Heavenly Immortal Mansion Ruins, began to stir once more, now that Lin Feng was gone. Gu Nanshan and Kong Lifeng secretly met again.
"Old Kong, do you think the news of Lin Feng being taken is true or false?" Gu Nanshan asked anxiously, wanting to know Lin Feng’s fate. If the rumors of the Six Elders of the Nine Nether Sect taking him were true, Lin Feng wouldn’t fare well. The Nine Nether Sect, equivalent to the Myriad Saints Sect, wouldn’t let him off easy after killing their Junior Sect Master.
"Old Gu, this news is solid. My sources are reliable, and Lin Feng was indeed taken," Kong Lifeng replied confidently. He initially doubted the accuracy, but further investigations confirmed Lin Feng’s capture by the Nine Nether Sect’s Second Elder. Recalling the Elder’s imposing aura, Kong Lifeng shivered, knowing Lin Feng’s might was futile against someone like that.
"If that’s the case, then we can relax. With the Myriad Saints Sect backing us, the Xia and Song Families, without Lin Feng, are no match," Gu Nanshan’s eyes lit up, hopeful for the Gu Family’s revival. Even with two Human Immortal Ancestors supporting them, the Xia and Song Families couldn’t challenge them now, finally allowing them some relief.
"Absolutely. Let’s test the Xia and Song Families’ reactions. Tell our people to stop showing them respect and watch their responses. What do you think?" Kong Lifeng, brimming with excitement, suggested. Understanding the Xia and Song Families’ stances would make further actions easier.
