Chapter 1306 - 1304: Hunting Demon Beasts
Chapter 1306 - 1304: Hunting Demon Beasts
The unknown demon beast naturally sensed danger. Its ferocity erupted, and it immediately started fighting with the four kids. Yet, what it had not anticipated was that despite its immense power, it was nothing in front of these kids. Within just a few breaths, the kids had already inflicted several deep wounds on its body!
Seeing the situation, it tried to flee. But what shocked it even more was that the weapons in the kids’ hands turned out to be flying sword Dharma treasures. In the blink of an eye, the kids caught up to it, and before long, they had slain it, leaving it no time even to self-detonate its Demon Core.
Little did it know, the kids Lin Feng brought with him had long adapted to battling demon beasts. Countless demon beasts had already fallen to their hands. Slaying a demon beast in the early Transcendent Realm wouldn’t even require four of them—any one of them could accomplish it. They simply attacked together to save time.
Seeing the kids had already killed the unknown demon beast, Leng Hao called out to them. He immediately took the four kids onboard the helicopter and flew off toward the next target...
Throughout an entire day’s time, Leng Hao and the kids had killed six or seven demon beasts. Some were formidable, like a demon beast in the early Infinitesimal Realm, which required a joint effort to take down after much difficulty. Others were weaker, merely in the early Transcendent Realm.
Sitting inside the helicopter, Leng Hao looked at the information showing there were only three demon beasts left to be dealt with. He casually chose the one closest in distance and signaled the helicopter to fly toward that location.
The next target lay in a place called Gale Gorge. One side of the gorge directly opened to the ocean, where fierce sea winds howled through the canyon, emitting a woeful sound! The space within the gorge was vast, and at the bottom, there was a large-looking pond surrounded by trees. If not for the powerful winds, one could imagine a small village rooting itself here.
By the time the helicopter reached a high point overlooking Gale Gorge, night had already fallen. The bright moonlight hung in the sky, illuminating the gorge below clearly. Leng Hao looked down at the gorge and immediately led the four kids toward the bottom.
The five moved quickly, arriving at the gorge bottom in no time. However, the demon beast they were searching for was nowhere in sight. They found it odd—wondering where the beast might have gone and questioning whether the information was incorrect.
Just as the five were feeling puzzled, the seemingly calm pond suddenly began to churn violently. From the water emerged a demon beast resembling a crocodile. Its body stretched an ominous thirty to forty meters in length, covered in hard, jagged spines. Its face was hideously grotesque, with sharp teeth capable of inducing dread at first glance. Judging simply by its appearance, this was no ordinary demon beast.
Upon seeing the demon beast appear, Leng Hao immediately called out to the four kids to prepare to attack together. He realized he couldn’t discern the surface level of this beast’s power and instinctively knew it was not an easy foe. While he trusted the kids’ combat abilities in other battles, he hesitated to let them face this creature alone. But just as they were about to strike, something unexpected happened!
"You think you can kill me? What a joke! I haven’t tasted cultivators in ages. Those hundred or so ordinary humans I devoured were bland, but cultivators have such exquisite flavor. Since you’ve come to serve yourselves up, let me enjoy this little treat!" The crocodile-like demon beast fixed its gaze on Leng Hao and the four kids, speaking in human language. Before it had slept, it was already a Demon King-tier Earth Dragon Heaven Crocodile. Now, people wished to kill it—it found the notion utterly laughable.
After speaking, its gaze swept across Leng Hao and the kids, as though calculating which one to feast on first.
Leng Hao and the kids were already startled by the creature’s sheer size, instinctively feeling that this beast was extraordinary. But when they heard it speak in human language, cold sweat broke out instantly. A demon beast capable of human speech—a hallmark of Divine Change Realm strength—was terrifying to even imagine. Could it mean the crocodile before them was indeed a Divine Change Realm demon beast?
Realizing this, Leng Hao didn’t hesitate any further. He shouted to the kids urgently, "Fly now!"
Leng Hao was genuinely terrified. While demon beasts in the Infinitesimal Realm could be dealt with if carefully maneuvered, those in the Divine Change Realm were leagues ahead—an unfathomable gap far beyond their abilities. There was no way he and the kids could challenge it!
Already panic-stricken, the kids did not delay. Upon hearing Leng Hao’s command, they activated their flying swords without hesitation and soared into the air. Leng Hao, too, retrieved the flying Dharma treasure Lin Feng had given him, stepping onto the flying sword in an instant and leading the kids away in a desperate escape!
Flying swords?
The Earth Dragon Heaven Crocodile had never imagined that Leng Hao and the kids would possess flying Dharma treasures. Its huge eyes widened in disbelief. How could it be that after awakening, every cultivator now had flying treasures—even kids? What kind of absurdity was this!
Watching Leng Hao and the kids flee rapidly on their flying swords, it could do nothing but glare helplessly. Although its speed was impressive, it could never hope to match the velocity of flying swords. Left with no alternatives, it had no choice but to return to the giant pond to rest. Recently awakened, it still felt somewhat unaccustomed and required time to adjust. Once it restored itself to peak condition, remaining in this place was out of the question...
"Good heavens!"
"That was close!"
"Thank goodness we had flying swords. Without them, we might have all lost our lives!"
...
Having narrowly escaped death, the kids saw that the Earth Dragon Heaven Crocodile hadn’t pursued them and finally exhaled deeply. They expressed their lingering fear, remarking on how terrifying the situation had been. Had the Earth Dragon Heaven Crocodile not wasted time speaking, but immediately attacked, none of them might have survived.
"Let’s go back!" Leng Hao’s face was pale at this point, still feeling deeply shaken. He had never imagined such a scenario occurring in the Secular World. To deal with a demon beast of this caliber, he could only seek help from his brother-in-law, Lin Feng!
Having said that, Leng Hao quickly led the kids back to the helicopter. As soon as they boarded, they flew at maximum speed toward Tianhai...
By the time Leng Hao and company returned to Lin Feng’s side, the sky had already begun to brighten. Lin Feng and Xia Lalan were supervising the kids’ morning training at that moment. Seeing Lin Feng, Leng Hao dashed toward him in a panic.
"Brother-in-law, I was scared to death! If I had reacted any slower, I might not have made it back to see you." Leng Hao spoke frantically, still gripped with fear.
Leng Hao’s words immediately puzzled Lin Feng and Xia Lalan. Given Leng Hao’s current strength, he should have had no trouble handling any demon beast below the Transcendent Realm. With the added help of the four kids, they could even take down Infinitesimal Realm demon beasts. How could an incident happen?
"What happened? Explain clearly," Lin Feng asked calmly. If Leng Hao wanted his help, he’d need to clarify the situation first.
"Brother-in-law, we just encountered a Divine Change Realm-level demon beast! It spoke human words and scared all of us to death. To stay safe, I took the kids and fled back here immediately." Hearing Lin Feng’s question, Leng Hao hastily recounted the specifics.
The four kids stood silently behind Leng Hao, their faces equally pale. Just recalling the Divine Change Realm demon beast sent shivers down their spines.
"A Divine Change Realm-level demon beast?" Lin Feng raised an eyebrow at Leng Hao’s words. He hadn’t expected a Divine Change Realm demon beast to emerge this randomly, realizing how dangerous the encounter had been. If that was so, it seemed action was necessary.
Likewise, the two Demon Kings perched on Lin Feng’s shoulders exchanged startled glances. Demon beasts at the Divine Change Realm were among the most elite in the Hidden World. How could such beings appear in the Secular World? This defied typical logic. First, the encounter at the small fishing village, and now another one—what was going on? Since when were there so many powerful demon beasts in the Secular World?
Upon hearing Leng Hao’s account, Xia Lalan’s face froze in terror, her mind racing with worry. How could such a dangerous situation occur for Leng Hao and the kids? Fortunately, Leng Hao’s quick reaction led to their escape, for otherwise, the consequences would have been unthinkable. She even began suspecting whether this crocodile-like demon beast had burst forth from the Hidden World.
"It’s absolutely true, Brother-in-law. Just go see for yourself." Leng Hao eagerly looked to Lin Feng, imploring him to deal with this monstrous threat. Only Lin Feng could handle it now. The kids behind him prepared to echo his plea, but before they could say anything, Lin Feng raised a hand.
"Let’s pay it a visit." Lin Feng agreed readily. This type of demon beast was far beyond any average person’s capability to confront. Given the circumstances, heading there for a look wouldn’t hurt.
"I’ll come too." Xia Lalan chimed in next to Lin Feng. She wanted to witness what kind of demon beast had emerged.
"No problem." Lin Feng smiled at Xia Lalan and replied gently.
"I’ll lead the way!" Leng Hao, seeing Lin Feng agree, was elated. He immediately turned to leave, with Lin Feng and Xia Lalan following closely behind. The three boarded the helicopter together and headed toward the Earth Dragon Heaven Crocodile’s gorge...
A few hours later, the helicopter reached the outskirts of the gorge and stopped at their earlier position. Leng Hao was about to guide Lin Feng toward the location, but Lin Feng waved him off and said, "There’s no need for me to act. Let those two handle it alongside you. I’m just here to assess the surroundings."
Truthfully, Lin Feng had little interest in personally engaging a demon beast, even one at the Divine Change Realm. It didn’t inspire him to action. His primary motivation for bringing Xia Lalan was to scout for any potential lairs or treasures associated with the beast. Last time, he obtained Jade Essence Beads; if there was more to gain, it would certainly be worthwhile.
The two Demon Kings, hearing Lin Feng’s words, immediately leaped from his shoulders onto Leng Hao’s. They were ready to assist.
