Extreme Almightiest Young Master

Chapter 1293 - 1291: Spiritual Energy Outburst

Chapter 1293 - 1291: Spiritual Energy Outburst

"Old Gu, it’s been years since we’ve seen a sudden surge of Spiritual Energy like this. I suspect something big is going to happen."

"Of course, I know that too. That’s why I came to you. Do you have any other news?"

"What other news?"

"The Xia Family has an unusual relationship with Lin Feng. Is there any word from the Xia Family’s side?"

"Not a single bit. My informant has already sent back reports."

"Then what’s going on? I keep feeling like something major is about to happen!"

"..."

...

Both of them felt that the strange movements of Spiritual Energy must foretell something significant. However, after much discussion, they still couldn’t make sense of it. Just as they were talking about the matter, a member of the Kong Family suddenly approached them.

"Family Head, I have an urgent report!" A middle-aged man who appeared to be in his forties addressed Kong Lifeng. He was Kong San, the one Kong Lifeng had dispatched to the Secular World to monitor Lin Feng’s every move. He had returned with an important matter to report to the Family Head.

"Speak!" The moment Kong Lifeng saw that Kong San had returned, he immediately ordered him to share the details about Lin Feng.

"Family Head, I have been monitoring Lin Feng in Tianhai. A couple of days ago, I accidentally overheard something from a few Loose Cultivators. They mentioned a peculiar phenomenon—the farther one gets from Tianhai, the more concentrated the Spiritual Energy becomes. Some Loose Cultivators speculate that there’s an array in Tianhai designed to draw in Spiritual Energy. If such a Formation exists in Tianhai, it would likely be in the area where Lin Feng resides. So, I returned to ask the Family Head whether we should take any action."

Kong San conveyed everything he had learned to the Family Head. This matter was indeed extraordinary. The ability to set up a Formation that attracts Spiritual Energy could only belong to an exceptional cultivator, and within Tianhai, Lin Feng was the most plausible candidate. He wanted to know the Family Head’s stance on this issue.

As soon as Kong San finished speaking, Kong Lifeng and Gu Nantian both froze. They hadn’t expected such a thing to occur.

"Old Gu, what do you make of this?" Gu Nantian thought the likelihood of such a scenario was high. Lin Feng was not someone who followed conventional reasoning; any unusual situation involving him was entirely plausible. He had long suspected Lin Feng’s extraordinary abilities, especially how Lin Feng had managed to cultivate to the Human Immortal Realm in the Secular World. This latest development did not surprise him one bit, but he wanted to hear Kong Lifeng’s opinion on the matter.

"With Lin Feng, there seems to be no impossibility. The two of us should go and see for ourselves. If we confirm that it’s really the case, we can decide how to handle it then," Kong Lifeng considered seriously before speaking to Gu Nantian. He wasn’t entirely certain either, so he thought it best to investigate firsthand. Who knew whether the rumors were accurate?

"That works. We’ll check it out together," Gu Nantian agreed readily, as he had been thinking along similar lines. He wanted to visit the Secular World to confirm the situation and then collaborate with Kong Lifeng on a strategy to deal with Lin Feng.

"Let’s make arrangements and set out shortly." After Kong Lifeng heard that Gu Nantian also wanted to take a look, he briefly discussed the matter and then left to organize things for the Kong Family. Meanwhile, Gu Nantian departed the Kong Family to make arrangements for the Gu Family...

...

Over the past few days, Lin Feng’s life had been tranquil; he spent his time teaching children and students, playing chess with three elderly men, and enjoying the evenings with a few women. Life seemed leisurely and carefree. However, this was merely superficial. Lin Feng kept receiving updates from Zhu Tao and Leng Hao, who informed him that Spiritual Energy concentrations were increasing across many parts of the world—though not significantly. This heightened Lin Feng’s vigilance, as he sensed that something big must be on the horizon.

After pondering the matter, Lin Feng decided to summon the Old Monster to discuss it.

"Senior, with Spiritual Energy surging across the world all of a sudden, what do you make of this?" Lin Feng asked calmly, fixing his gaze on the Old Monster.

"Is this truly happening?" The Old Monster’s face showed surprise as he responded with a question.

"Yes. Zhu Tao and Leng Hao have already been dispatched to investigate. It’s not just Tianhai; Europe and America are experiencing the same thing. This is absolutely certain," Lin Feng nodded, his tone firm. He had a hunch that the Old Monster might know something.

"If that’s the case, something major may well be on the horizon," the Old Monster replied with furrowed brows and a trace of tension in his tone. He hadn’t expected such a scenario and began to feel a mounting sense of worry.

"Senior, do you know what might happen? I can tell this anomaly isn’t normal—something is definitely brewing. But I can’t figure out what it is," Lin Feng asked curiously, hoping to get to the bottom of the mystery.

"Here’s the thing: back when I was in the Capital City, I read numerous ancient books and rare manuscripts. One of those books mentioned this type of phenomenon. It stated that an aberration in Spiritual Energy across the entire world could only mean one of two things: either an elemental tide is occurring, signaling the end of the Era of Doom and the revival of a cultivation golden age; or another realm’s powerful entities are attempting to forcibly invade our world, causing Spiritual Energy disturbances as they work to open the gateway."

"Both scenarios are extreme. If it’s the first, then it’s good news; it would benefit all cultivators. But if it’s the second, that spells trouble. We can’t predict the intentions of such intruders. If they harbor malicious motives, we’ll be powerless to resist..."

The Old Monster’s tone grew increasingly severe as he spoke. His worry deepened; although Lin Feng was extraordinary, the strength and intentions of a powerful being from another realm were entirely unknown. He couldn’t bring himself to believe that such intruders would be benevolent. If his suspicions proved correct, it could spell disaster...

Lin Feng listened to the Old Monster’s words and nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. After weighing things in his mind, he responded, "Senior, with me here, there’s no need to worry. Nevertheless, we must prepare. Here’s what we’ll do: for the next few days, I’ll rely on you to keep an eye on things. I intend to go into seclusion for a few days. If anything happens, please handle it. If it’s beyond your capability, come to me."

The reason Lin Feng decided to enter seclusion for several days was that he realized the time had come for him to enhance his strength. The past period had been dominated by constant travel and activity, leaving him no opportunity to focus inward. Now was the crucial moment to refine his abilities and prepare for the imminent troubles ahead.

"No problem, leave it to me. I’ll proceed with caution," the Old Monster said, astonished to hear that Lin Feng was planning to enter seclusion. To his knowledge, Lin Feng had never done so before. However, as he considered Lin Feng’s motivations, he quickly understood and agreed without hesitation. With him standing guard, normal issues wouldn’t pose a problem.

All tasks now settled, Lin Feng used Divine Sense to notify Ding Wan’er and Leng Mei of his intention to go into seclusion. Then, with a flicker of his figure, Lin Feng vanished from the Old Monster’s presence.

High above the clouds, Lin Feng sat cross-legged like a meditative Buddha, perched on the cloud bank. Around him, Seven-Colored Gang Qi radiated outward, resembling a brilliant rainbow-like sun. Endless Spiritual Energy surged toward Lin Feng at a terrifying speed, while Lin Feng held a Jade Essence Bead, methodically refining and absorbing the energy into his body...

...

Meanwhile, as Lin Feng practiced atop the clouds, Gu Nantian and Kong Lifeng, accompanied by a few others under Kong San’s guidance, arrived near Yingbo University. However, none of them dared to come too close. Kong San had already explained that Yingbo University not only housed Lin Feng but also an Infinitesimal Realm Old Monster as its guardian. They weren’t afraid of the Old Monster, but they worried that a confrontation might draw Lin Feng out. Thus, they stopped short of stepping into Yingbo University’s grounds.

"Old Gu, did you notice something during our journey?" Kong Lifeng asked Gu Nantian as they gazed at Yingbo University.

"Something definitely feels off. On our way here, it became clear that the closer we got to this location, the thinner the Spiritual Energy became. I suspect Lin Feng really has set up a Formation to gather Spiritual Energy here," Gu Nantian replied gravely, his expression tense.

Throughout their journey, Gu Nantian had paid close attention to this phenomenon, eventually confirming its reality. He was now almost certain Lin Feng was behind it; no one else in Tianhai could have caused such effects. The Hidden World no longer had Array Masters capable of such feats, leaving Gu Nantian puzzled as to how Lin Feng had managed to construct such a Formation...

"Old Gu, how should we deal with Lin Feng? Should we disclose this information and let the Loose Cultivators here give Lin Feng a hard time?" Kong Lifeng proposed, thinking that while they couldn’t directly confront Lin Feng, the uninformed Loose Cultivators could still create trouble for him.

As soon as the words left his mouth, Kong San interjected.

"Family Head, this method won’t work. Similar attempts were made before, and those Loose Cultivators couldn’t even get close to the university. Even those who managed ended up with disastrous results. Yingbo University has already become a taboo among Loose Cultivators—no matter how curious they are, they wouldn’t dare set foot inside."

Kong San had long wondered why Yingbo University evoked such fear in Loose Cultivators despite earlier rumors. Unknown to him, this perception was planted by Gu Shengwu himself. Hearing Kong San’s explanation, Gu Shengwu, standing behind Gu Nantian, felt his heart race. He dreaded the possibility of Lin Feng’s victory against him being exposed through this incident...

"That’s true. Back when I was investigating the Immortal’s Relic Mansion in Tianhai, I heard about this as well and found it quite odd," Gu Shengwu added seriously. Secretly, though, unease gnawed at him; he prayed his past defeat wouldn’t attract his father’s attention or the scrutiny of the two accompanying Elders.

When Kong Lifeng heard both Kong San and Gu Shengwu affirm the same, he frowned deeply. He hadn’t anticipated these complications. With his earlier plan unfeasible, he found himself at a loss for how to deal with Lin Feng.
