Chapter 1268 - 1266: You... Your man...
Lin Feng gave his opinion: the route that Chu Meng had been researching earlier was the most orthodox and reliable. However, Jack’s method was entirely unconventional, though it had its advantages—it could save time. The normal research and development process was far too slow, whereas his method could quickly be put into production. Of course, there were also many drawbacks; if the corresponding problems were not handled properly, things could indeed become very troublesome.
After hearing Lin Feng’s words, Chu Meng nodded, already having decided on the next steps. But before she could speak, Jack glared at Lin Feng and shouted loudly, "Impossible! Solve all the problems within six months to a year? That’s just a pipe dream! If you don’t understand, don’t spout nonsense!"
Jack, glaring angrily at Lin Feng, spoke in frustration. Science is a meticulous discipline, and the problems that exist—and how many there are in the research process—he himself was undoubtedly clear about. These issues simply couldn’t be resolved in a short time; what’s more, some of them were impossible to solve with current technology. Yet here Lin Feng was, claiming that everything could be completed within six months to a year—this was pure nonsense! What an idiotic boast!
"Nothing is impossible." Seeing Jack’s strong reaction, Lin Feng didn’t seem surprised at all. He merely said these words calmly, suddenly pulling out pen and paper and quickly jotting something down.
How did that appear out of nowhere?
Jack was momentarily stunned, unable to believe his eyes. He thought to himself, Lin Feng didn’t seem to have any pen or paper on him—so how did they materialize, like magic? Could this kid actually be a magician? Otherwise, how could he have conjured pen and paper so suddenly?
Chu Meng stood to the side, smiling without saying a word. She had long grown accustomed to Lin Feng’s ways. If Lin Feng said something could be done, then it absolutely could be done. He never spoke without confidence. She was now just curious to see how Lin Feng planned to solve those problems.
In under two minutes, Lin Feng stopped writing, handing the written paper to Jack. Jack’s reaction was as if he had been struck by lightning. The content on the paper was none other than the theoretical formula for the RT Energy Box—flawless and accurate. What shocked him even more was that one of the formulas, which had baffled him for years, was also included on that sheet!
If he weren’t so confident in himself, Jack would have suspected that Lin Feng was the actual researcher behind this project. Everything was simply too incredible. These formulas hadn’t even been seen by others in the lab—yet Lin Feng managed to write them out casually. It was beyond belief! Subconsciously scratching his head, Jack wondered if he was dreaming...
Lin Feng looked at Jack’s dumbfounded expression and gave a faint smile. Then he spoke: "The design concept for the RT Energy Box is indeed correct, but it depends entirely on the practical implementation. For instance, in your design, during the collision between R particles and T particles, instead of using interface collision, you should adopt spiral collision. This would greatly reduce electromagnetic interference while significantly enhancing particle efficiency!"
"As for the instability problem, the root cause lies in the high-energy interference generated by the two particles’ collision. Solving this isn’t especially difficult; the challenge lies in the materials. If you could find a material capable of completely shielding the particles, this issue could be avoided, thus addressing the instability concern."
"Regarding safety, simply relying on heavy lead—a cheap metal—for encapsulation won’t suffice. Since both particles are high-energy, you would need a material that is highly heat-resistant and impervious. Such a special metal doesn’t currently exist on Earth, but it does exist on the Moon. If you could bring that special metal back and apply it, the process could be shortened by two to three years."
"Moreover, in terms of output power, this must also undergo reform..."
...
Lin Feng didn’t hide anything from Jack. He openly shared all his thoughts, knowing Jack was a science fanatic and would completely understand. What Lin Feng said was to point out to Jack that he wasn’t randomly making things up but genuinely understood this field inside out.
For Lin Feng, as long as he understood the general direction, he could easily deduce everything that followed, coming up with the most effective solutions to all the problems. For him, this was no challenge at all.
However, as Lin Feng spoke, Jack’s expression began to transform. At first, he looked puzzled, then frowned, followed by enlightenment, then joy, and ultimately, he reached a state of near-madness! By the time Lin Feng finished speaking, Jack stood like a wooden sculpture, staring at Lin Feng in utter disbelief, completely motionless.
This can’t be real!
Jack couldn’t calm his emotions anymore because everything Lin Feng mentioned had been the exact problems he was facing. These were issues he hadn’t managed to solve—not a single one—and yet Lin Feng laid them all out and even resolved them effortlessly. How could Jack possibly believe this? He couldn’t understand how Lin Feng knew all of this. They were from entirely different fields! Lin Feng was simply too incredible—beyond human comprehension. He wasn’t a mere mortal; he was a Divine Being!
It took Jack a long while to gather himself and regain his composure. His expression returned to normal, but he no longer wanted to talk to Lin Feng—afraid of being struck by another wave of inferiority.
Walking over to Chu Meng, Jack asked, "How could you have someone like him and not have designed everything earlier? He must be the one behind your current strategy, right? He’s incredible! Someone like him staying under the radar—your secrecy is unparalleled!"
Jack was now fully convinced about Chu Meng. He couldn’t believe she had someone so capable on her side and had managed to keep him hidden. It was clear that the rise of Cloud Fund was no coincidence!
Upon hearing Jack’s words, Chu Meng couldn’t hold back her laughter anymore. Covering her mouth, she giggled, and even Lin Feng chuckled beside her—leaving Jack baffled. What was going on? Why were they laughing at the same time? What was so funny about what he said?
While Jack was still confused, Chu Meng walked over to Lin Feng, wrapped her hand around his arm, and said to Jack, "Thank you for the compliment. But I should clarify, he’s not my designer. He’s my man. You’ve mistaken his identity!"
Chu Meng’s radiant smile was almost blinding. She was elated—feeling ecstatic to have someone like Lin Feng as her husband. To watch him completely dumbfound a scientist like Jack was immensely satisfying. In her glee, Chu Meng ignored all decorum and planted a kiss on Lin Feng’s cheek, making him smile knowingly.
"You... your man..."
Jack was utterly stunned upon hearing Chu Meng’s words, staring at Lin Feng as if he’d seen a ghost. No matter how he looked at it, he couldn’t believe Lin Feng was Chu Meng’s partner. How on Earth had Chu Meng found someone this ridiculously brilliant?
Reflecting on all that had transpired, Jack was left speechless. Lin Feng was beyond the comprehension of ordinary people. Forget everything else—his intellect alone was enough to make anyone feel inferior. Now Jack finally understood why Chu Meng and Lin Feng were so happy together. If anything, Lin Feng was leagues beyond Chu Meng. At this point, he even began to suspect that Chu Meng had only ever been a figurehead, and it was Lin Feng who had been quietly orchestrating everything at Cloud Fund...
"Now everything’s ready. I’ll give you the data for the RT Energy Box. I hope Cloud Fund can mass-produce it quickly and drive the Locke Group out of the market. That way, they’ll lose all their clients, and their previous investments will turn to dust. I know how much they’ve already poured into this project—basically their entire capital. The entire Locke Group will soon face serious issues, possibly even bankruptcy!"
Now that everything had been laid out, Jack dropped all reservations and spoke directly to Chu Meng. He no longer hesitated; as long as Chu Meng followed his advice, the Locke Group would definitely not survive this blow, and bankruptcy was highly likely. Only with the total collapse of the Locke Group could Jack finally feel at ease.
"No problem. I also don’t want to see the Locke Group cause any more trouble." Hearing Jack’s words, Chu Meng nodded in agreement with his suggestion.
But just as Chu Meng and Jack were about to discuss other things, Lin Feng interjected, "Let’s leave first. There’s no need to talk here."
Jack, hearing Lin Feng’s words, suddenly remembered something: he had been out for quite some time. The Locke Group would likely track him down soon, so he immediately wanted to leave. But then he saw that his mecha had been damaged and became flustered. Without it, how could he escape?
Panicked, Jack turned to Lin Feng and said, "I can’t leave; my mecha is out of commission. It’s far too heavy and completely broken—there’s no way to move it."
That mecha was Jack’s prized possession, his lifeline against the Locke Group’s pursuit. Unless it was absolutely necessary, he wasn’t willing to abandon it—it was literally his safety net.
Lin Feng, hearing Jack’s concern, was speechless. Even now, Jack couldn’t stop worrying about his mecha. Then, an idea crossed Lin Feng’s mind. The quality of the mecha wasn’t bad—he could take it back for research and send a few units to his senior brother. Waving his hand, Lin Feng made Jack’s mecha vanish into thin air, storing it within his Space Ring.
