Extra’s Path To Demon King

Chapter 485: The Inception of All Wars

Chapter 485: The Inception of All Wars

600,000 suicidal undead creatures that did not care the slightest about their own existence. As the army of the dead was revealed, the expression on the faces of the four figures changed immediately, for they knew better than anyone how unfair a battle against an undead army could be.

Because every single undead would revive multiple times before they are permanently killed, unless they could find the 2nd phase Lich’s who were commanding this army from behind. The actual number of undead the human army would have to kill is actually three times the total number of undead.

Lucien called out, "Jaden..."

Jaden said, without turning to the prince, "Don’t worry, every single armor and spear of the soldiers has been imbued with light-based magic. Principal Alric Stragoy himself had guaranteed that these would deal at least double the damage of Normal artifacts."

Lucien scowled, "I’m not talking about that. The undead army could literally crush our army just from their unstoppable charge. We need to slow them down...."

Jaden sighed, "I know, and the best thing we could do for that is Light-based arrows from the long-range shooters. That should at least do the trick somewhat...."

At this moment, Thorian interjected, "This 600,000 undead army is nothing but disposable cannon fodder for them. To weaken our forces. But the attack that would come after it. When the 2nd phase bone golems and stronger undead mages would join in."

He stated after some hesitation, "Not to mention the human talents of the minor kingdoms would also join in. The ghost race has not only destroyed the Vex family of Suncrest but also rescued the minor kingdoms’ princes and princesses who were imprisoned in Blackvale."

"The bastards slaughtered all guards in the most inhumane manner imaginable. Enough to make even me vomit in disgust..." he spoke through gritted teeth.

Enrick nodded, wearing a grim expression, "If the unified army is not able to perform well under our leadership by that time. We would be stripped of our authorities, and the higher military officials would take over. This position of ours is only temporary."

Then he turned towards the Golden prince as he added in a displeased tone, "The same goes for you as well, Lucien."

To that comment, Lucien only sneered, "You don’t have to say anymore. I know you’re desperate, that your brothers are after your position. But you’re thinking a bit too negatively."

He added with scathing intensity, his eyes blazing with hatred as he looked at the approaching undead army, "Because we would not merely keep standing against the endless undead forces, we will fight back and win, and win we shall with a marginal victory."

The other three behind could only frown at that comment; they could not help but look at each other and shake their heads. It wasn’t that they were not confident in their armies; after all, they had prepared very extensively on everything they could think of.

However, they were also practical enough to admit the power of the ghost race. The fact that even ten people survived amongst the 1200 was already a miracle, if not for the Valkyrie taking out the Death Knight and everyone else giving it their absolute best. They would not have survived.

Lucien looked backwards at three of them and sneered, "You lot can think whatever you want, while you guys fought off against hordes of undead, but I fought against something far stronger and survived alone. Or can you say that I am not the strongest in our generation except for her??"

They all remained silent because, as uncomfortable as it may be, that indeed was the truth. Lucien’s true battle prowess was well cemented in the 3rd phase, despite being a 2nd-phase seeker.

A powerful shockwave reached the unified army below, and their attention shifted towards the enemy army of the dead. From such a distance, it looked like a tsunami of darkness, filled with skeletal bones, was approaching, and the tide was rising higher and higher.

The 300,000 soldiers could not help but be horrified, gripping their weapons tighter, the ground beneath them quaked harder and harder as the death army was about to crash onto them; if that charge were not stopped, this alone would kill all of them without a shadow of doubt.

Lucien Suncrest, from high above, waved his hand and shouted, "MARCH FORWARD....."

The Unified army could only swallow their fear and march forward in almost perfect sync, even when the two armies were only kilometers apart. His voice echoed through the battlefield once more, "Fire the Light Arrows...."

Countless white, glowing arrows were shot towards the heavens, creating a surreal picture of 100,000 light arrows converging like a wave of purifying light about to descend upon the wave of undead. And that’s exactly what happened with a calamitous explosion.

Where light and undead darkness met, the tsunami of undead had no choice but to slow down; the dark creatures shrieked in the most inhumane manner. Their bone-grinding screeches rattled the minds of the soldiers. If not for the armors having the effect of passive spiritual protection, many of them would have already collapsed.

The wave of light arrows managed to temporarily grind the march of the undead to almost a halt. Innumerable of them had already died, but the undead skeletons would not stay dead; they would revive after a short interval.

Using this chance, Lucien proclaimed in a kingly tone, "Unified Army of the Great Kingdoms, SLAUGHTER EVERY LAST ONE OF THOSE WRETCHED UNDEAD. WE WILL WIN, AND WE SHALL WIN NO MATTER WHAT..."

His voice itself was like a magic, a hidden effect of the Golden Dragons’ bloodline, and just those simple words boosted the morale of the unified army to the brim, with a combined battle cry that shook the entire battlefield. The 300,000-strong army dashed forward towards the nigh-endless, skeletal enemies.

When the two opposite armies of Human Seekers and Undead Skeletons finally clashed, the entire western corner of the continent trembled. No land within the human region was spared from the shockwave that travelled through the grounds. Every single human, beast, animal, and monster could feel the sensation of it.

At the same time, within the confines of the Samartan Great Kingdom, in a region that was nothing but a barren desert for miles and miles, a figure clad in dark attire from head to toe walked through the endless dunes—searching for something, like a needle in a haystack.

He stopped in his tracks, turning around, towards the borders where the war had just started. A gust of sandy hot wind rippled his dark attire, revealing a small part of his face, a skull mask on his face, and demonic red eyes. He stated in a wistful tone, "And so it begins...."

"The war... which would be the inception of all Wars."
