Extra’s Path To Demon King

Chapter 470: Blown Cover

Chapter 470: Blown Cover

Axel looked at the prince with suspicion, "Your Highness? Why are you here?"

This bastard prince just teleported into this place out of nowhere. Wearing the usual smile, and the very moment Heinz exited. Axel recalled the servant’s words: Lucien had only allowed Axel to enter this place.

Lucien sighed, "Don’t you think you’re overthinking things a bit?"

"What do you mean?" asked Axel skeptically.

"I can almost hear your brains turning. You’re not that good at hiding your expressions as much as you’d like to think, Axel," said Lucien.

Axel did not respond, simply keeping his gaze on the snake-like prince’s expressionless face.

Lucien laughed, "You’re too tense, Axel. It’s nothing much really. I was just intrigued by how easily you handled Heinz. Of course, in a full-on death battle, things would be much different. Even so, I must say your battle awareness is amazingly sharp."

"So, let’s have a small fight ourselves...shall we?" proposed Lucien.

Axel chuckled, "I’m but a runecaster. How can I have the capacity to fight you?"

Lucien shook his head, "There’s no need to pretend, Axel. You defeated Morin Drake fair and square in a battle. You were ruthless enough to kill him as well. It’s also possible that you could be the one who had killed Talon Vex."

Axel’s face turned cold. He stated with barely contained annoyance, "Your Highness? Are you sure that you are not purposefully trying to piss me off?"

"Actually, I have every reason not to do such a thing... So, no, I’m not trying to anger you. I want to have a small bout? Or do you think your pride will be hurt if you lose to me?" asked Lucien provocatively.

Axel held both of his hands up in a gesture of surrender, "In that case, I already admit defeat."

Lucien was stunned for a moment; he didn’t think this arrogant runecaster would so brazenly admit defeat, but then again, considering how he had just acted with Heinz Gil in such a hooligan-like manner. It seems there were many layers to Axel Nomrad’s personality than what the bastard showed him in one conversation.

This bastard was perhaps just like himself, a cunning snake disguised with an arrogant facade.

The prince stated, "Unfortunately, that’s not an option. So, here I go..."

Lucien’s figure shot forward in dizzying speed, almost blending in with nature itself. It was to the point that Axel could barely notice him using the passive capabilities with his runic eyes. He almost had the urge to spread his awareness into the worldly mana via the energy sense skill.

Since this was one of the most versatile and strong abilities of the prince, apart from the abilities of the Draconic aspect, Axel should be able to detect him much more easily in that case. But if he activated that, it would instantly expose him, Lucien knowing that Axel possessed the same rare skill as him.

The Golden Prince would become even more suspicious. Another chain binds him again.

Barely reacting to the prince’s increased speed, Axel swiftly moved his hand and redirected the attack. Again showing restraint on his martial prowess.

This was a massive headache. He could at least express 60-70% of his real battle prowess when against others, but not against this damn bastard. Axel could only show below 50% of his runic battle prowess.

He could only grunt in annoyance and begin using his various binding-type artifacts. At the same time, dodging Lucien’s various blows.

Lucien unleashed the 1st form of his imperial sword technique of the Suncrest Royal family. With no other choice in hand, Axel brought out a common grade 2nd-tier rune sword. Blocking the sword strike.

The prince laughed,

"Come on, Axel. Stop holding back. Show me what you’re made of....and don’t be such a fucking coward."

Lucien attacked with even greater ferocity. Axel could barely stop those attacks while holding back so much. In the end, he decided to take the loss, intentionally making a mistake trying to counterattack.

Axel watched on as the blade of the prince got closer to his neck. To his horror, he realized the bastard had no intention of stopping.

He didn’t know whether it was a bluff, but the risk was too great.

His two demon hearts let out a violent burst of power. His eyes flashed in a demonic light as the rage building up within him could not be contained.

It almost felt like his own body went out of control, moving at the full speed of human capability and maximizing all of his mana through the rune circuit that existed throughout his body. The arrogant prince did not have the chance to react to such an increased speed, as Axel directly grabbed his face, dodging the blade.

Bang....

Axel smashed his head directly to the ground, almost cracking the impenetrable marble floor. At the last instance before Lucien’s head would smash to the floor, a small protective barrier formed around his head. Since he was the prince, he naturally had no shortage of life-saving artifacts on him.

Not that it was a life-threatening attack in the first place, Lucien was just caught off guard; even so, blood was gushing out from all over his face. This happened to him even though he possessed the partial constitution of the golden dragon.

If it were any normal Seeker, their head would have turned into a meat paste 10 times over by now. Axel looked at the arrogant bastard beneath through the gaps of his fingers, as he was still holding Lucien’s head as it was bleeding out.

He was beyond furious at this son of a bitch.

But when his eyes met the completely golden eyes and the draconic slits that looked at him like a worthless insect, filled with heaven-sundering arrogance. Axel felt a profound chill run down his spine, followed by a voice that made his blood run cold with terror: "Move your hand, little demon."

As if the raw survival instinct of his demon bloodline had taken over, he jumped back more than five meters, his eyes turning red, his pupils narrowing and lengthening. His canine teeth grew sharper.

He didn’t transform into his half-demon state. But the features manifested automatically as the demon bloodline felt threatened by the remnant will of the strongest dragon ever to exist on this continent.

As Gilderon took over Lucien’s body. The injuries on his head healed immediately, followed by a wave of dragon aura spreading through the training room in a controlled manner.

Two small backward curved dragon horns came out of Lucien’s forehead as well. Gilderon spoke in a displeased tone, "What the fuck do you think you’re doing?"

Before Axel could form any respectful response for the mighty Dragon Lord, the Dragon Will added in a controlled fury, "You nearly blew your cover, boy...."

Axel stepped back even more, unable to control his own body. Gilderon let out a low growl at the sight, and...

BOOOOM!!!

A powerful force landed upon Axel’s gut that sent him flying, as he crashed onto the white walls of the chamber. He threw up an unhealthy amount of blood. Not just that, he was literally bleeding all over his body, and his mind went blank from the sheer pain he was feeling.
