Chapter 873 - 3: Irresistible Fate (Conclusion) _3
Ling Luo sighed inwardly.
She was found, and now there was no escape.
She had no choice but to say, "I’m not sure if we know each other, but this is the Crown Princess Consort calling for me by name. I cannot refuse to see her."
Li Xing’an saw her hesitance and comforted her, "The Crown Princess Consort is my second sister-in-law. Though stern, she is a good person."
Ling Luo thought to herself that she knew Ling Yuezi’s temperament much better than Li Xing’an did.
She awkwardly smiled and said, "It’s just a meeting, I’m not afraid. Your Highness, please wait outside for a moment while I fix my attire."
"Alright, I’ll wait for you." Li Xing’an walked outside.
Ling Luo steeled herself, got up, and dressed properly.
Outside, she saw Li Xing’an looking at her again.
She could only muster a forced smile.
Ling Luo followed Li Xing’an to the main hall of the front courtyard.
In the main hall, Ling Yuezi was leisurely sipping tea.
In her grand Crown Princess Consort attire, she appeared majestic and noble.
That said, as the Nanyue Princess, Ling Yuezi’s previous attire was just as luxurious and resplendent.
Ling Luo took a deep breath and bravely stepped forward, "Greetings, Your Royal Highness the Crown Princess Consort."
She dared not reveal her identity.
It was better for Ling Yuezi to speak of her identity herself.
Upon seeing her, Ling Yuezi felt a surge of anger.
But after a moment of thought, everything was in the past; Ling Luo had neither fled nor married.
"So it’s really you," Ling Yuezi set down her teacup, concealed her anger with a slight smile and said, "Come back with me!"
It was not a request, but an order.
Li Xing’an walked over, "Second Sister-in-law, is this truly someone you know?"
"You don’t believe? Ask her then," Ling Yuezi glanced at Li Xing’an, then at Ling Luo, but soon turned back to Li Xing’an.
She noticed that Li Xing’an’s expression as he looked at Ling Luo was quite tense.
Ling Yuezi frowned slightly.
Ling Luo nodded to Li Xing’an, "Yes, we know each other."
Li Xing’an sighed in relief.
He bowed respectfully to Ling Yuezi, "Second Sister-in-law, if that’s the case, then Third Brother is at ease."
Ling Yuezi smiled, "Third Brother, rest assured." She stood up and started to walk out, taking a few steps before turning to Li Xing’an, "If you wish to see her, come to the Eastern Palace."
Li Xing’an replied happily, "Thank you, Second Sister-in-law."
Ling Luo glanced at Li Xing’an, bit her lip, and followed Ling Yuezi out.
Li Xing’an remembered something and called out to Ling Luo, "Luo Sheng, wait a moment, you haven’t taken your luggage, I’ll fetch it for you."
He waved to Ling Luo and hurriedly ran towards the back residence.
Ling Luo felt embarrassed; what luggage could she have?
It was merely a couple of sets of women’s clothes and a few menstrual cloths.
Ling Yuezi said, "Then let’s wait a moment."
Ling Luo had no choice but to wait.
Before long, Li Xing’an returned holding a rolled-up bundle and shoved it into Ling Luo’s arms, "Take it."
Ling Luo glanced at him, lowered her head, and walked outward.
Ling Yuezi smiled and said, "Third Brother, stay put, we’re leaving now."
Li Xing’an escorted them to the gate, saw them onto the carriage, and then returned inside the residence.
Even though only one person was missing from the residence, Li Xing’an felt as though a hundred people had left, leaving it empty.
He sighed, hands behind his back, and wandered off alone.
After boarding the carriage, Ling Yuezi glanced at Ling Luo’s male attire, said nothing, and simply snorted coldly.
Ling Luo lowered her head and saluted Ling Yuezi, "I’m sorry, Eldest Princess."
"We’ll speak upon our return!" Ling Yuezi cast a distant glance at her, paying no more attention.
Ling Luo sighed inwardly and continued to keep her head down, fidgeting with the hem of her clothes.
Both maids were brought from Nanyue, understanding the situation well, and remained silent, merely furrowing their brows.
The carriage arrived at the Eastern Palace’s gates.
Ling Yuezi alighted first, while Ling Luo, like a withered blossom, drooped her head and followed listlessly into the residence.
As they reached the rear courtyard, they happened to meet Li Xingsheng, who was back from the palace for a rest.
Li Xingsheng saw Ling Luo and curiously said, "Oh, isn’t this... the friend Third Brother just made? Yuezhi, why did you bring him here?"
"Sheng Lang, take a closer look at her face," Ling Yuezi turned around, glanced at Ling Luo, and said exasperatedly.
Li Xingsheng approached Ling Luo, "Raise your head."
Ling Luo reluctantly raised her head to glance at Li Xingsheng before quickly lowering it again in fright.
Li Xingsheng was taken aback, "You are... Pingchang Princess?"
Ling Yuezi rubbed her forehead, feeling a headache, and said, "Sheng Lang, I’ll take her to talk about some things, you go away for a bit."
Li Xingsheng smiled, "I’ll not meddle in affairs between the two sisters, I’m off to see the children."
With hands behind his back, he departed.
Ling Yuezi gave Ling Luo a look, and with a stern face, said, "Follow me."
