"I... I did!" Lin Banxia stammered, practically losing her ability to speak. She did look at it, but... not carefully enough.
She was doomed. Would she truly be trapped here, unable to leave even if she wanted to resign?
"President Leng, for the sake of us knowing each other from before, can you grant me one more act of mercy and let me leave?" Lin Banxia immediately forced a smile and pleaded, hoping he would let her off the hook.
"And what if I refuse?" Leng Weichen suppressed the surge of frustration in his chest. The thought of this woman being so desperate to escape from his side irritated him to the extreme.
Lin Banxia froze for a moment. "Why won’t you agree? I’m not some irreplaceable talent. Keeping me here doesn’t do you any good; I won’t be able to fulfill any value you expect from me."
She was on the verge of fainting. Lin Banxia hadn’t expected resigning from a job would be more difficult than getting hired in the first place.
