Chapter 425: Archdevil Stages & Assira’s True Identity
Chapter 425: Archdevil Stages & Assira’s True Identity
Liora had just advanced and was currently at the Creation stage.
Just like its name suggested, Archdevils in this stage needed to slowly "create" their own Throne.
By turning their insights, knowledge, and abilities into nourishment, they could integrate them into their Throne and gradually turn it from something illusory into a real, material object.
At that point, the Archdevil’s strength would improve dramatically, and they would reach the Throne stage.
Beyond that, there were two other stages that Archdevils had to go through if they wished to become Ancient Devils. Anchoring and Ascension, respectively.
However, both of these substages were far away from the current Liora.
Her main focus at the moment was on further strengthening her own Throne.
As her mind constantly shifted through this information and she planned her course of action for the foreseeable future, Liora softly let out a breath before standing up.
Her mind connected with the inheritance palace, and the two communicated. She sensed that there was nothing amiss and quickly relaxed.
Having completed her advancement, she had no other reason to stay here.
Although the previous situation had been cleared up and she had dealt with the Commander, there were still some things that needed her attention before she embarked on the journey back to the Demon World.
With that in mind, Liora communicated with the inheritance palace, and the space around her trembled, sending her out.
--
Although a lot of events had happened and Liora had experienced a fierce and exhausting confrontation against the World Devourer Ancestor, not much time had gone by in reality.
Less than a day had passed.
In such a short amount of time, her strength had transformed once again. Yet, some people had remained the same.
The moment Liora exited the inheritance palace and collected this treasure into her hand, she saw that two women were seated in the clearing outside, seemingly awaiting her arrival.
The two did not say a word.
Alpha sat in one corner and fiddled with a miniature wooden puppet in her hands, while Assira was busy recovering from her previous injuries with her eyes closed.
Neither of them noticed Liora’s arrival.
Even though she had advanced, her control over her power had not lessened at all. If anything, she could now freely control every bit of her body and energy.
She no longer needed to use any abilities to hide herself.
Even if she stood there without doing anything, no one below the Archdevil stage would be able to detect her existence.
It was only when she walked several steps and consciously revealed her aura that the two sitting women finally noticed her.
Alpha immediately rose to her feet and bowed slightly with a smile.
On the other hand, Assira seemed relaxed and got up with undisguised elegance.
"It seems that the inheritance is truly destined for you. Your rate of progress is truly rapid.", Assira spoke with a smile as she greeted Liora with an ethereal gesture.
Liora returned the gesture and nodded in response.
However, she didn’t say a word and chose to remain silent.
Secretly, her eyes locked onto Assira, and a tiny Devil Rune flickered within her pupils.
The Devil Rune only manifested for a brief moment.
Yet, during this time, Liora had confirmed her previous guess. The previous missing puzzles fell into place, and she understood everything.
She instantly shook her head, not hiding the emotional fluctuations in her eyes.
"I had some suspicions before, but it’s truly shocking to see them confirmed."
"You are truly hidden very well among us."
"I’m certain that the Commander and the Universe Chamber of Commerce never expected that an Archdevil had unknowingly mingled among a group of Greater Devils."
"Even when the Commander perished, he must have never guessed that you were perhaps a bigger threat than me."
Liora’s voice was plain, but the meaning of her words was anything but that.
What she was implying was clear: Assira was not a Greater Devil but an Archdevil just like her!
Indeed.
The moment Liora observed this woman, she immediately noticed a thread growing out of her back, a thread that she could not sense with her previous strength.
The thread penetrated through the maze and even the world beyond that, traveling through the Origin Sea and towards the distant Demon World.
"Hehe.", Assira chuckled and hid her smile behind her hand.
"You’ve only just advanced, yet you’re able to see it. It seems that you’re even more extraordinary than I originally believed."
Saying this, she shook her head.
"But you should have already seen that this body is just a clone of mine."
"Although my true form is an Archdevil, I can at most exert the power of a Greater Devil at the moment."
With nothing to hide anymore, Assira didn’t wait for Liora to ask any questions but took the initiative to come clean.
"You should have seen that this world, and most importantly, this inheritance, can only be accessed by Greater Devils. If an Archdevil appeared and chose to obtain the inheritance, the palace would immediately launch an attack on them."
"Besides the need to conceal myself from the Universe Chamber of Commerce’s investigation, this is how my current body came to be."
"I originally planned to hide myself and obtain the inheritance on my own. Unfortunately, your arrival disrupted my plans."
Upon hearing her explanation, Liora nodded and understood her thoughts.
Even though Assira was only a clone at the moment, her identity as an Archdevil granted her methods far beyond those of her peers.
Therefore, if Liora had not been involved, she would indeed have had a high chance of obtaining the inheritance and hiding it from the Universe Chamber of Commerce.
Unfortunately, no one would ever know for sure.
The inheritance had already fallen into Liora’s hands. Without her permission, Assira could only dream of ever getting closer to it.
Thinking of this, Liora couldn’t help but recall their earlier agreement. She knew why Assira had been waiting, and she chose not to keep her waiting.
Her mind communicated with the inheritance palace. Instantly, her consciousness dove into a space deep within it and wrapped around a tablet.
Information poured into her mind, complicated enough to drive weaker Greater Devils insane.
Fortunately, her advancement had made her thought process several times faster. Otherwise, it would have taken all her effort to fully digest this technique.
After memorizing the information, Liora stared at Assira for a few seconds and, under her expectant gaze, waved her hand.
A pink light emerged and fired at Assira.
The opponent did not try to evade. Of course, even if she wanted to, she had no chance to dodge the light.
Regardless, Assira let the pink light land on her.
The moment it did, her eyes closed as her mind felt like it was about to burst apart.
Despite this, she showed no disappointment.
Rather, a faint smile appeared on her face as she consciously worked to digest the information in her mind.
It was hard for her to contain her excitement.
After so long, she had finally obtained the technique she had been chasing after!
Although there were some unexpected events through this process, and things didn’t go as she predicted, it ultimately didn’t matter.
With this technique in her hands, a technique that fully matched her bloodline, there was a high chance she would soon advance further.
