Chapter 108 : I See You
Chapter 108 : I See You
"The fire poker... no, the holy sword is heating up? I've never seen it like this before," Loranhir murmured to herself.
Ever since she pulled this golden, radiant holy sword from the massive rock, Loranhir had never witnessed the holy sword show any activity. It was always useless—even when used as a fire poker, the sword had never reached such a high temperature, as if it had encountered some predetermined target.
"But why?"
Loranhir truly couldn't figure out the holy sword's activation mechanism. If it were any other idle moment, she might carefully ponder the cause, but now she had no time to consider the issue.
A powerful wind rushed toward her, accompanied by a deafening roar, followed by a sharp sound that nearly tore through her eardrums—a screeching noise like fingernails scraping across a blackboard.
Gogogogrrr...
Hatred boiled within Elaphia.
Every breath she took, every humiliation she endured, every trust she betrayed, and every drop of power she accumulated were all for this moment.
Even after failing time and again, wailing in agony under torment, having her dignity crushed repeatedly, no matter how many times it happened...
She was determined to crush that bastard!
This was her last shred of dignity.
"Vlad, Vlad Dreka, this time I will make you understand—I will absolutely make you understand what fear is!" Elaphia shouted.
"A mere rat, just lucky for a while, and now you’ve forgotten your place and want your master’s life? Let me teach you what respect and manners mean," Dreka said coldly.
Loranhir’s gaze shifted. In the distance, two crimson figures continuously clashed—bloody claws striking sparks, blood splattering into raindrops, staining the puddles red. Cracks spread across the cobblestone path, and it seemed more than just that—the entire central square appeared to be twisting and tearing apart.
She’ll win, right?
Loranhir thought instinctively. She had never seen Elaphia move so swiftly; even in close combat with the vampire overlord Dreka, she didn’t fall behind. Who knew how long she had been hiding this strength?
However, this dominance didn’t last long. Loranhir clearly noticed Elaphia’s movements slowing down, slower and slower, as if something was gradually failing.
Not only that, but even the capillaries in her skin began to turn purple and swell.
Spoke too soon...
She thought it best to say less.
But she really had to help.
Gripping the heated holy sword, driven by a sliver of hope, Loranhir tried to pull it out. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t budge an inch.
'What was I thinking?' Loranhir sighed.
"Never mind, it’ll work fine as a blunt weapon," Loranhir said, gripping the holy sword’s thick hilt with a reverse hold and approaching the two combatants.
A stone statue in the city center was struck squarely by a black shadow and shattered completely, sending dust flying. Elaphia, clutching her stomach, struggled to rise, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth."Two broken ribs, several shattered internal organs. The swallow's decoction still has a little effect left. Not a big problem, I've had worse," Elaphia briefly assessed her condition.
"The fusion effect of black honey is about to wear off. We need to hurry."
Elaphia spat out fragments of internal organs, wiped the dirty blood from the corner of her mouth, and stood up. Immediately after, she saw Loranhir suddenly walk up to her.
During this brief breathing space, a ferocious expression flashed across Elaphia's face, which was covered with blackened capillaries. She even seemed to radiate a sense of madness.
"He's mine he's mine he's mine he's..." Elaphia kept repeating.
"Stop being stubborn. You don't want to lose either," Loranhir said without turning her head. "The Princess is waiting for us. We can't afford to fail here."
She tossed the holy sword in the air a couple of times, gauging its weight.
"You're really lucky to have ended up with a country bumpkin like me," she said to the holy sword.

"Hey, why are you staring at me like that?"Patunasankus stood under the dilapidated imitation windmill, dissatisfied with her hands on her hips, her sharp gaze fixed directly on Shatina who stood before her."
"Is there something dirty on my face?"
"No," Shatina said bluntly.
"Then why are you staring at me?" Patunasankus covered her forehead. After finishing her business, she had intended to wait quietly for news like a proper princess, at least until Loranhir returned with the other two. During this time, she could have gotten some proper rest.
But who would have thought that shortly after, Shatina would come rushing over in a flurry, clinging to her like a puppy—staring here, staring there, practically wanting to follow right behind her.
"I don't care. Wherever you are, that's where I'll be," Shatina said.
As if thinking of something, she hesitated slightly before adding, "Even if you go to the restroom later, I'll be waiting in the stall next to yours."
Patunasankus froze for a moment, then slowly blushed.
"...Pervert," she said directly.
"Who, who's a pervert?" Shatina's face also turned red with embarrassment. "I'm warning you—if you don't behave and run around everywhere, I'll tie you up."
"T-tie me up?" Patunasankus pointed at herself.
"...Uh." Shatina briefly imagined the scene, instantly realized something was wrong, and quickly changed the subject, speaking with forced authority. "I don't care! Until they return, you're not allowed to run around anywhere!"
"Must be tough work protecting me."
Patunasankus patted Shatina's head, like a little girl reaching out to pet her own kitten.
"Hehe..." The soft, comfortable stroking made Shatina narrow her eyes contentedly. "I'm not that great either."
"Then I'll trouble you to follow me around for free."
"Mhm, it's fine. It's worth it anyway."
A few seconds later, Shatina processed what had been said. "Wait... I'm not your cat! 'For free'?! How can those two words form a sentence? My god, demonic words, demonic!" Shatina exclaimed.
"Yeah, right, right."Patunasankus replied perfunctorily, then idly put her hands behind her back and began strolling around.
"Hey, wait for me!" Just as she said, Shatina followed closely behind her without leaving a single step.
Someone had erected an old windmill in the fields outside the city, but the breeze was too faint, leaving the windmill still and unable to turn.
Woodbine and white roses cascaded from the top of the wall, looking quite lonely.
Patunasankus's gaze was drawn to a blooming dandelion, its fluffy white sphere swaying gently in the slight breeze as if beckoning to her.
A somewhat shy and withdrawn little dandelion, blooming in a secluded and shadowy spot, emitted a faint fragrance—only by chance could one catch sight of it.
Patunasankus bent down, her fingers lightly brushing its soft fuzz, feeling the delicate touch of nature.
"I see you there."
The warm and gentle tone gradually resembled hers.
Patunasankus liked such a voice, one that gently spread through her heart, careful and tender.
