Chapter 180 : Yuanyuan’s Great Fury

Chapter 180: Yuanyuan’s Great Fury

After finishing his morning exercise with Professor Mu, Lin Mo went to the cafeteria for breakfast. Though he could now cook for himself—and quite well, too—come on, have you ever seen a chef who likes to cook in their free time?

Even top national banquet chefs felt the same way. Work was work, and life was life.

So, to save himself the trouble, he would rather eat out than go through the hassle of cooking breakfast—unless, of course, he was craving something specific.

Yesterday, partly to satisfy his appetite and partly to get more familiar with his new skill, he had made himself a grand chicken feast in the evening: stewed chicken with mushrooms, cola chicken wings, mouthwatering chicken, dry pot chicken, and even chicken soup. It was quite a meal.

The taste was incredible—simply divine. The only downside was that he had to watch a cooking video each time to learn how to make it. Still, the skill was no joke.

He felt that even if he opened a restaurant now, he could make a fortune—maybe even serve high-end private dishes.

After breakfast, Lin Mo returned home to wash up, planning to read for a while. He was supposed to visit Professor Li later today, so he needed to make some progress. Otherwise, if his teacher checked up on him and found him slacking, wouldn’t that be embarrassing?

Since moving into his current place, he hadn’t been visiting the library or the self-study room. Reading quietly at home alone suited him just fine. Plus, being at home meant freedom—he could dress however he wanted, with snacks, drinks, and air conditioning all within reach. Why go to the library to suffer?

As for the items on his shopping page these past two days—well, let’s just say they were hard to describe. Not that the things were bad or worthless—on the contrary, they were unusually valuable.

Thinking of this, Lin Mo glanced at the glass display cabinet in his living room. Inside sat two porcelain boxes—one black, one white. The white round box contained Longquan sealing paste, while the black square box held Tongyan Huizhou ink.

Both were said to be worth more than gold. The key thing was how incredibly complex and time-consuming their production was—it could take years to make a single batch. These were true luxury goods in every sense, far beyond what foreign designer brands could compare to.

There was no doubt the items were precious, but they were also hard to sell. First, there was no clear market price for such things; second, they were extremely niche—very few people actually used them.

It seemed only calligraphers or painters would appreciate them. Ordinary people might not even have heard of them.

The Longquan sealing paste—resistant to freezing in winter, oil separation in summer, and impervious to water damage—could even survive fire, leaving traces. It could preserve color for over a hundred years. In ancient times, it was something only emperors used.

As for the Tongyan Huizhou ink, there was an old saying: “Gold is easy to find, but Huizhou ink is hard to come by.”

Each weighed one thousand grams—one kilogram. Definitely valuable, but difficult to sell at a good price, at least not by himself.

So, Lin Mo planned to contact his two “financial backers” in the next few days—Miss Yuan and Liu Rushuang—to see if they could help him find buyers.

After all, keeping them at home was pointless; it was better to turn them into cash.

In these past two days, perhaps because of different schedules—or because the policewoman upstairs had to work—he hadn’t seen her again. Everything seemed to be heading in a good direction, which made Lin Mo secretly sigh in relief.

After all, whenever he faced Ms. Zhao, the pressure was real.

Then, taking The Shennong Herbal Classic, he sat at the table on his balcony and began reading quietly, hoping to review enough before visiting Professor Li later in the afternoon.

But peace never lasted long. At 2:30 in the afternoon, his phone suddenly rang—it was Wang Chu.

“Hey, Lao Mo, where are you?”

The moment Lin Mo picked up, Wang Chu’s anxious voice came through, tinged with panic.

“I’m at home reading. What’s wrong?” Lin Mo asked, puzzled.

He had already arranged with Professor Li to visit today and told his friends about it too. Why did it sound like something bad had happened?

Sure enough, the next second Wang Chu blurted out urgently, “Hurry downstairs, quick! Chuanmei and I got beaten up!”

“What?” Lin Mo shot up from his chair. “You got beaten? Who did you fight with?”

“Ah, don’t ask—just get down here! We’re not far outside the community, head toward the art academy next door! Hurry!” Wang Chu said before hanging up.

Seeing this, Lin Mo didn’t dare waste a second. Reading could wait—his friends were in a fight! From Wang Chu’s tone, it sounded like they had even been overpowered.

As a young man in his early twenties, Lin Mo was full of energy. When his friends got into trouble, there was no way he could stay out of it. Friendship was friendship—if someone touched his friends, he had to stand up for them.

He quickly changed clothes and dashed downstairs, running out of the community toward the nearby art academy without stopping.

The art academy next door was filled with girls, the exact opposite of Jiangning University of Science and Technology, so the two schools kind of balanced each other out.

Old Zhao from his dorm had a girlfriend there—they’d been dating since high school. Because of that connection, the guys from Lin Mo’s dorm had visited the art academy quite often. After all, who didn’t dream of a sweet campus romance?

Soon, Lin Mo arrived near where Wang Chu said they were. Just as he was about to pull out his phone to ask for directions, Wang Chu suddenly rushed out from nowhere, grabbing his arm.

“Lao Mo! Thank goodness you’re here!”

Lin Mo turned and saw Wang Chu covered in dirt, his white T-shirt marked with two clear shoe prints. He was limping slightly, looking absolutely miserable.

“What happened to you? Where’s Chuanmei?” Lin Mo asked, pulling him anxiously.

Wang Chu sighed heavily. “Ah, Chuanmei’s done for—she’s been captured!”

“Captured? Wait—what happened? How many of them were there? You actually left Chuanmei behind?” Lin Mo widened his eyes in disbelief.

Wang Chu waved his hands frantically. “I couldn’t help it! You’ll understand when you see her. There was only one person, but I had no choice!”

As the two spoke, they walked toward the public restroom nearby. Wang Chu continued, “We went to the art academy to film some material. Chuanmei went to the public restroom, so we split up for a bit. When I saw her again, someone had her pinned down. Of course, I couldn’t just stand by and watch, so I jumped in to help—but I lost.”

“Just one person, and you lost?” Lin Mo looked at Wang Chu’s solid build, struggling to imagine what kind of monster the other person must be.

Wang Chu nodded repeatedly. “I fought bravely, but that opponent was fierce beyond measure. I took three heavy blows and was utterly defeated! Don’t even know their name!”

As he spoke, they arrived near the restroom. Wang Chu immediately stepped forward, shouting toward the door: “Bold fiend! Come out and face me! Today, we settle this once and for all!”

The next second, a sound came from inside. A figure slowly walked out.

Short hair, a tall, slender frame, exquisite facial features, and a strikingly fit figure—her waist-to-hip ratio was almost criminal. Her chest was impossible to ignore, her skin glowed with a healthy bronze tone, and the muscle lines on her arms were distinct.

It was none other than Officer Zhao Yuanyuan.

Her face was full of fury as she stepped out, activating her special skill—[Yuanyuan’s Great Fury].

“You still dare come back? Looking for death?”

Her crisp voice should have been pleasant to the ear—but at that moment, Lin Mo was completely dumbfounded.

“Lao Mo, that’s her! Let’s go! The two of us together—let’s take her down!”

Lin Mo: …
