Everyone Wants Me Dead: The Villain Lord's Survival Diary

Chapter 12 – With a bang, the person just disappeared

Chapter 12 – With a bang, the person just disappeared

On the terrace of the Mayor's Estate stood a tall, handsome man with golden hair.

The man crossed his arms, his gaze stern, with a greatsword nearly as tall as a person strapped to his back. He wore luxurious silver armor, with a golden gem the size of a human head on his chest plate, shimmering gently in the sunlight.

His entire body was emanating a golden aura, even his deep blue eyes were tinged with gold.

As his battle aura surged, a massive presence gradually formed behind him, first transforming into a roaring lion, then slowly morphing into the shape of a giant dragon.

The dragon lowered its head to gaze down, its pale golden eyes filled with disdain, as if overlooking a group of insignificant ants.

What struck the players even more was the man's name, glowing red, and the menacing skull icon beside it.

[Eaglehold Lord - Sylvie Goldlion (Skull)]

There was no need for players to use Appraisal; Sylvie had already displayed his health bar and level.

[Earth Knight - Level 44 - Nightmare]

The players swallowed hard as they looked at the long health bar of the Eaglehold Lord, and the flashing level and rank beneath his name.

The words "Nightmare" flashed in a dark red, was that the threat level? It was clearly the Death Omen hanging over their heads!

But soon, the players became excited again. What was the most enjoyable thing in the early stages of an ARPG game? Besides leveling up, fighting bosses, collecting equipment, teasing NPCs, it was finding and watching those top-tier bosses that they couldn't possibly defeat at this stage, and taking pictures for posterity.

Undoubtedly, for the players now, the Eaglehold Lord was a top-tier boss.

In terms of identity and background, Sylvie Goldlion was the Eaglehold Lord, an Earl of the Cologne Empire, a big shot for sure.

Looking at his strength, a Level 44 Earth Knight, although the players didn't know what that meant, it didn't matter. As long as the threat level was Nightmare, that was enough.

Finally, in terms of appearance, his majestic figure, handsome face, cool effects, and top-tier equipment that didn't even need Appraisal to be recognized.

Voices were already rising from the player community, "I want to have Lord's babies!"

"Holy crap! Holy crap!!"

"Awesome! This is too cool!"

"Is this the Eaglehold Lord? Such a terrifying sense of oppression, I actually feel chest tightness and suffocation in the game."

"Quick, take a screenshot! Quick, take a screenshot!"

"From today on, I am Lord's dog!"

"Emmm, aren't you Saintess Sister's dog?"

"There are too many dogs for the Saintess, one more or less doesn't matter, but if I show my loyalty to the Lord now, maybe I can immediately become one of his henchmen!"

"You're dreaming."

"What do you think, if we take him down, how much good stuff would we get?"

...

This sentence, spoken by an unknown player, resonated with most of the players.

Yeah, if they could kill the Eaglehold Lord, wouldn't all his cool equipment and skills belong to them? Wouldn't they just soar to the top?

Thinking this, the players' gazes at Sylvie shifted from shock and admiration to greed and eagerness.

Some players also turned their eyes to Ye Hao.

"?"

Why are these players looking at me?

Ye Hao's face twitched, feeling extremely anxious inside. Yesterday, he used his Foresight skill and didn't foresee these events. The storyline clearly ended with the killing of the Morninglight Town Mayor, so where did this Eaglehold Lord come from?

The key is, it looks unbeatable!

Listening to the players' chatter, Sylvie's eye twitched. The natives of Kain Continent couldn't understand what the players were "babbling" about, but as a transmigrator, Sylvie could understand perfectly.

"Goodness, I haven't even made a move, and you're already planning how to divvy up my loot? Shouldn't I just smash your heads?"

Sylvie snorted coldly, drawing the greatsword from his back.

"I am the Eaglehold Lord, Sylvie Goldlion. Invaders, you will pay for your ignorance!"

Before the words finished, Sylvie leapt from the terrace, gripping the greatsword with both hands, slashing down at the group of players below.

"Roar—"

The majestic roar of a lion echoed, and a massive golden lion's phantom appeared behind Sylvie, its mane flying, muscles knotted, its raised giant paw merging with Sylvie's greatsword.

"Boom—"

A violent gust roared, spreading from Sylvie's landing point, the greatsword imbued with battle aura crashing into the ground with a thunderous boom, temporarily deafening the surrounding players.

As the gust subsided and the dust settled, the players found a massive crater over ten meters in diameter and about a meter deep at the center of where the Eaglehold Lord stood, filled with the crisscrossed bodies of players, while outside the crater lay a large number of players who had been blasted to death or flung away.

Many players hadn't even reacted before their vision went black, turning into energy forms floating above their corpses. They would enter a period of death penalty, after which they could spend experience to revive. During this time, they could observe their surroundings as energy forms.

"Hiss—! Who aggroed the boss?"

"No one aggroed, the Lord attacked first."

"Holy crap! With a bang, my whole person was gone!"

"Is this boss's sword nuclear-powered or something?"

The players reacted quickly, though Sylvie's heavy blow left them stunned, the remaining players began organizing a counterattack, and those whose revival time had come hurried to revive and run back.

"Mages, fall back a bit, the boss's attack range is wide. Warriors, hold the front!"

Dozens of warrior players charged forward, swords and shields in hand, fearlessly rushing toward the man in the crater.

Sylvie pursed his lips, stomping his right foot hard, shattering the ground as he charged out like a speeding train. Players in his path couldn't even make a sound before being knocked back, vomiting blood, their health bars emptied.

The players rushing in felt a blur, and the Eaglehold Lord was already standing before them, his blue eyes burning with golden aura, his cold, oppressive gaze paralyzing them.

The greatsword swung abruptly, and several fan-shaped sword qi as wide as doors flew out, instantly evaporating a group of warrior players, swords and all.

"Warriors, triangle formation, don't cluster toge... uh?"

The player giving commands stopped mid-sentence, as the warrior players he was referring to had already turned into dozens of floating energy forms.

"What the heck?! You guys just vanished?"

"Yeah, I just saw the boss do this and that, and then I was floating..."

"Not even on the same level, my health is only 250, do you know how much damage the boss's sword qi did to me? 3,126,782 without a crit!"

"Hilarious, experiencing the feeling of being hit by a truck in a game."

...

While the warrior players heroically sacrificed themselves, the mage players had finished chanting, and a myriad of low-level spells flew toward the Eaglehold Lord, looking quite spectacular.

Sylvie dismissed the low-level magic flying toward him. The players were still too weak; this level of attack couldn't even break his defense.

But Sylvie knew the players grew at a terrifying pace, and if he didn't hurry to improve himself, the opportunity to crush the players would only diminish.

Ignoring the low-level magic falling on him, Sylvie gripped his greatsword and leapt into the mage group like a meteor, then with a few sweeping strikes, the players fell like wheat in an autumn harvest.

In just a few breaths, all the players present entered a death countdown state, and those who died earlier didn't approach the battlefield after reviving, only watching from afar.

Because there was still one person standing, and that was the protagonist, Ye Hao.
