Chapter 162
Chapter 162
Ch.162 What Do I Know
The council settled on defending the capital.
For days, they remained on high alert.
It was natural—waiting for the enemy’s next move.
Finally, scouts confirmed: the undead army had withdrawn.
With that, the Hero Party had little to do.
Scarlet no longer needed to climb the watchtower daily.
Leah no longer stood guard on the wall.
Cecilia no longer waited with her holy knights.
At evening, the three gathered at a tavern near the wall.
“What now?”
“Yeah… what do we do?”
As Leah and Cecilia exchanged words, Scarlet thought:
‘Since there’s nothing to do for now… why not visit Hans’s mansion?’
She’d heard Auros planned to return to the Rare temporarily.
If things were stable… visiting Pisa wasn’t a bad idea.
She spoke:
“I’m going to Pisa.”
Jolt.
Leah and Cecilia froze.
‘Why are they reacting like that?’
Simple.
They’d planned to go to Pisa too.
Just… without Scarlet.
“Wait—why are you going to Pisa?”
Leah, voice tight, demanded.
Scarlet scratched her cheek.
“To see Hans. And if something happens here, I can return instantly.”
Because Icira’s teleport shuttle was in Pisa.
Of course, she wasn’t the only one thinking this.
‘Uh… oh no?’
‘Oh… right? We were going alone…’
They’d wanted to investigate Mia.
According to Giovanni, Mia visited Hans every night.
They suspected Mia’s intentions—and planned to observe her.
But if Scarlet came?
They’d assumed Scarlet thought she’d driven Hans away.
Now, if all three clashed over him?
Leah and Cecilia felt betrayed.
Leah silently asked Cecilia with her eyes:
‘What do we do?’
‘I’ll handle it.’
“Lady Scarlet… why go to his domain? A man who treats women like trash? It’ll do you no good.”
Cecilia waved her fingers dismissively.
Scarlet’s face darkened.
“I like Hans.”
Leah exploded:
“WHY?! Why do you like that womanizer?!”
“It’s my heart. I don’t know how he approached me—but I didn’t reject him.”
Logical.
To Hans, it was modern human logic.
To this world’s standards? He’d already given his heart.
Learning the truth didn’t erase her feelings.
If he’d approached her with malice, she’d hate him.
But he’d acted to save humanity. To support the Hero Party.
‘He said our cultures are different… he didn’t think we’d feel this way…’
Love made her see him positively.
Leah and Cecilia were surprised by her resolve.
“Hm… then we’re coming too. Hans might confuse Scarlet with strange words.”
“Why? I’m not your child.”
Scarlet frowned.
Leah nodded.
“Yes. Pisa has Icira. And lots to see.”
“Ah! Right! The doll shop is amazing!”
Cecilia—addicted to the Bibi dolls Hans gave her.
Scarlet grimaced.
“You’re both crazy.”
“Why? We’re going for fun! And to stop Hans from doing something sneaky!”
“Exactly! Why are you yelling at us?!”
Scarlet pressed her palm to her forehead.
She hadn’t expected this.
‘They haven’t given up…’
A reasonable suspicion.
Mia hadn’t either.
Scarlet and Mia were allies—but different.
Cecilia and Mia were fighting for the position of ‘primary wife’.
Scarlet and Mia? Normal romance.
‘Suspicious…’
Scarlet watched the two, eyes narrowed.

After the soldiers left,
A faint glow came from her notebook.
She opened it.
Written on the cover: ‘Scarlet’.
A messenger book from Auros.
“What’s this?”
She flipped it open—read the message:
—The army withdrew. Nothing to do for now. Can I rest at Hans’s mansion? With Leah and Cecilia.
“What?!”
All three wanted to go.
Not one.
Three.
“Oh… oh, God…”
She muttered, instinctively calling on the divine.
Gods existed here.
It wasn’t strange.
Honestly? She wanted to grab Him by the collar and shake Him.
Why bring me here to protect this world—
But give me nothing but suffering?
Wait—shouldn’t regression be a fair reward?
I’m breaking my back saving this world!
Others get perks when they’re summoned!
I got… nothing. Just suffering.
Especially being loved by four insane women?
Wait—five?
The situation suggested she’d have to seduce Selena too.
“Aaah… my head’s spinning.”
I was in agony—
Tap-tap.
Knocking.
Oh no. Not now.
Tap-tap-tap-tap!
Furious knocking.
Irritated, I snapped:
“Who is it?”
—My lord?! The Hero Party has arrived at the mansion!
Giovanni’s trembling voice made me jump.
“What?! Already?! How?!”
They were a week away.
They were here?
CLANG!
Giovanni burst through the door like a man possessed.
—T-The dragon Auros used teleportation!
“Aaah… seriously… I hate this.”
I cursed Auros in my mind.
Then—
“Lord! Brother! I’m taking a vacation! One month!”
“No! Go back! Am I supposed to stay here alone?!”
“Brother, the Hero Party freaks out whenever they see me! I’ll die before you do!”
Giovanni’s face was pale.
Apparently, the Hero Party harassed him constantly.
They were literal nuisances.
“I can’t let you go. If you leave, I’ll be buried in work—and I’ll have to see them more.”
I paused.
Wait.
Giovanni managed all domain operations.
Final approvals were mine—but everything passed through him.
If he left…
My workload increased.
And I’d see the Hero Party ‘more’.
“Fine! Go! Go rest with Ellis!”
Then—
“Hans?”
“Father Hans!”
“Master!”
Three bombs—and Auros—entered my study.
“Haha! Already here? Auros, long time.”
“Haha. You’ve been well?”
I wanted to scream:
‘You’ve been well?! Why did you drop these bombs on me?!’
But I held it in.
“Yes, thanks to you. But why are you here?”
Auros smiled warmly.
“I wanted to see you before returning to the Rare.”
“You’re going back to the Rare?”
If Auros leaves now, the capital’s safety is compromised.
He’s the only one who can bind the liches.
Even with the wall, if liches use Fly spells to rain magic over it, we can’t stop them easily.
He knew my worry. Smiled.
“Don’t worry. If I’m needed, I’ll return.”
“Then I’m relieved.”
“Haha. Where are Icira and Aria?”
“They’re…”
Icira was creating the Magic Construct underground.
Aria?
She’s playing with the maids.
“Haha… I haven’t seen that child in ages. I’ll take the chance to speak with you too.”
“Ah? Should I call them? Giovanni?”
“Yes, my lord.”
“Bring Icira, Ariah, and Mia. And—your vacation is approved. Take a full month.”
Giovanni bowed deeply, eyes shining.
“Thank you! I’ll fetch them immediately!”
He vanished like wind.
“Everyone, sit.”
I gestured to the sofa.
Auros looked serene.
The girls looked… annoyed.
Why?
They clearly had complaints.
“Anyway… the Seal Stone shattered again, didn’t it?”
I gave a sheepish look.
“Yes… it wasn’t easy.”
“You said in your game, four Seal Stones shattered before the final battle. I won’t blame you. But this one… must not break.”
“Haha…”
I scratched the back of my head.
Auros stared coldly.
“I’ve helped you because the prophecy says you’ll save us.
But if the Seal Stone breaks… and the Gates of Hell open… and the God of Death returns…”
Wait.
“Gates of Hell?”
That’s… an odd term.
“Do you know what happens if the Seal Stone breaks?”
“Of course. I was a young dragon when they were forged.”
What?
“So… what happens if it breaks?”
“In your game, it ends. But I don’t know what happens after.”
In ‘Destiny’, when the Seal Stone broke, the screen turned black:
GAME OVER.
Player defeat.
“It opens the Gates of Hell. Not the same as the Demon King’s dimensional invasion.”
“Why Gates of Hell?”
In ‘Destiny’, the Seal Stones imprisoned the God of Death.
My understanding was different.
“Of course. The God of Death was imprisoned deep in Hell—beneath endless fire and lava.”
I froze.
“Wait… the God of Death wasn’t imprisoned in the Seal Stone?”
Auros shook his head.
“No. I remember clearly. The day they sealed him in the endless fires of Hell.”
My head spun.
Then… what do I know?
