Evading the Hero’s Party with Full Effort

Chapter 119

Chapter 119

Ch.119 I’ll Accept Your Alliance Proposal

The game of tag lasted all night until morning.

Was it the Tracking Spell?

The Hero Party kept appearing wherever I hid.

I vowed: once back in my territory, I’d remove this cursed spell immediately.

After confirming Auros was awake, I stuck to his side all morning.

Wouldn’t a true rival let me die?

Perhaps curious about other worlds, the Lord welcomed me warmly with a hearty laugh.

The Hero Party, finding me beside the Dragon Lord, could only tremble with rage—too afraid to cause a scene.

After the morning chaos settled…

“We’ll take our leave now.”

As we bid Auros farewell, he chuckled.

“Do. Inform me when Roy appears.”

“Yes. Icira will notify you.”

“Good—I trust only you, Icira.”

She gave a small nod. “Worry not. It’s not difficult.”

“Right, right—you’re a proper elder dragon. Off you go.”

“Bye-bye, Lord!” Aria waved cutely.

“See you!” Nephert and Nekhuf also bowed.

“Farewell,” Mia said to the Hero Party, who pouted—but what could they do?

“Teleport.”

At Icira’s command, blue light enveloped us. Soon, my familiar mansion appeared.

“Ugh… running all night was exhausting. I’ll nap a bit.”

“Sleep well~”

I hadn’t slept a wink.

As I headed to my room, grumbling inwardly—

“Hans, got a minute?”

Mia called me.

“Huh? I’m tired…”

Everyone else was heading to their rooms.

“Just… a quick word.”

She looked like she had something to say. I nodded.

“Okay. Where to?”

“How about a walk?”

Alone with me, she slipped into polite speech.

“Uh… sure?”

It felt odd—she always used informal speech before.

“Alright.”

We strolled through the garden.

“Scarlet was so clueless in the capital—it was exhausting.”

Back in the capital, Scarlet had tried to ‘date’ me.

Mia had intervened to prevent us being alone, bickering as they toured together.

“R-really?”

“Sigh… I didn’t notice before, but she’s surprisingly oblivious.”

Mia gave a naturally radiant smile—

so dazzling it made my chest flutter.

“Did Scarlet say anything specific?”

Should I admit she confessed?

Fearful of whips or flaying, I shook my head.

“Nothing like that.”

She narrowed her eyes, frowning.

“Hmm… Impossible. She was looking for you all morning.”

Her sharpness was unnerving.

But backing down would only make things worse.

“Mia, love is built on trust. Are you doubting me?”

She gave a sleepy-eyed look.

“Where’s your conscience?”

“Huh?”

“How can you say that—with five girlfriends already?”

Her calm tone stung more than anger.

But in moments like this, audacity was key.

“Hmph. Attacking your future husband with facts? Is that how a good wife acts?”

I shamelessly referenced her past wish to be a ‘good wife.’

She sighed. “Fine. I won’t ask. You only treat me like a fiancée when it suits you.”

At her annoyed look, I nodded.

“I really had nothing with Scarlet.”

I did get a confession, but nothing else happened.

“Okay, I believe you. What choice do I have when you insist so much?”

Her gentle tone made my heart skip.

Was… was Mia prettier than usual today?

No! Snap out of it! She’s a professional interrogator!

“Hmph… I’m going in to sleep. Really tired.”

Wanting to flee before I said something stupid—

Mia smiled sweetly. “Go rest.”

Leah and Cecilia

had secretly agreed to meet, avoiding Scarlet’s eyes.

To deal with last night’s confession incident.

—Toc toc.

Late at night, the red-haired girl knocked on Cecilia’s door.

Soon—

—Click!

The platinum-haired girl opened it.

“Come in.”

—Boom! Click!

Once the door locked, Leah demanded,

“Why were you hiding there yesterday?”

Cecilia shrugged. “Same reason you visited Priest Hans.”

Both wanted to talk to Hans after so long.

Leah, not foolish, guessed Cecilia’s motive.

She bared her teeth. “You haven’t given up either, huh?”

“Of course not! Why would I? We’re already dating.”

“How is blackmail ‘dating’?!”

True—Cecilia had pressured him using her saintly authority—but her face was thick.

“Either way, I’m the official girlfriend. Right, ‘Second’?”

“What?! S-second?! You wanna die?!”

Leah snarled, her red hair flaring like flames.

Cecilia sighed. “We’ll discuss titles later.”

“What?! You call me ‘second’ then say that?!”

“Calm down. With luck, you’ll be Third or even Fourth.”

Leah stared, shocked speechless.

“B-but…”

“Look—Mia walks with Hans often. She hasn’t given up. Scarlet confessed right in front of us! Clearly, someone will become Third or Fourth.”

It made terrible sense. The naive Leah cried out,

“No! Master would never do that!”

When they lived together, he was pure.

How could he keep ‘four’ women?

She refused to believe it.

“That’s just your dirty mind talking!”

Cecilia’s eyes narrowed. “Dirty? Calling a saint ‘dirty’?!”

“Yes! One man with four women—talking about ‘thirds’ and ‘fourths’—that’s filthy!”

“I’m just facing reality!”

“What reality?!”

Leah trembled with shame and confusion.

Cecilia wagged a finger, smirking.

“Think—two more girls clearly like Hans, right?”

“W-well… yeah.”

“So he’ll want to live with all four—since they’re all beautiful?”

“No! Master isn’t like that!”

“If he’s not, then why’s he juggling five girls—including Selena?”

Fact hit hard. Leah’s face burned.

“Th-that’s… to save the world…”

“Tsk tsk. Selena tried to kill him, so that’s unlikely. But if Scarlet or Mia won’t quit… Will Hans, being a man, really reject them?”

Truth was—Hans wanted none of them.

He was terrified of these women.

The fact that a saint thought this way was deeply depressing.

“Anyway—he told me we’re dating!” Cecilia declared proudly.

Leah scoffed. “That was before you got your leg caught!”

“No—it was on the ship last time!”

Leah gasped, furious. “What?! He promised to keep his vow to me!”

“I swear by the gods—it’s true.”

“Th-that’s…”

“Now we know one thing for sure!”

—Gulp.

Confident, Cecilia gestured dramatically.

“Hans is an uncontrollable womanizer! He definitely accepted Mia’s confession—and would’ve taken Scarlet’s if we hadn’t been in the wardrobe.”

Both were fighting to survive—but they truly believed he was a hopeless flirt.

“He… he wouldn’t…”

Leah denied it weakly, but her trembling eyes betrayed her doubt.

“You say you trust Hans,” Cecilia said, “but your heart doesn’t.”

Fair enough.

“S-so what? What can I do?!”

She’d loved Hans deeply for years—since her teens.

She couldn’t imagine life without him.

Yet she never thought he’d be a womanizing rogue.

Cecilia gave a sly smile.

“If we can’t stop the other women… why don’t we form an alliance?”

Cecilia had given up on having Hans to herself.

Logically—a womanizer like him would build a harem.

She’d known Hans since her teens; they’d ‘dated’ over three years.

She loved him too much to leave.

(Though if he added more girls, she’d break his head.)

But if allying with Leah meant eliminating two rivals? That was acceptable.

After all…

‘I’ll be the ultimate victor. Leah, your sneaky, fake love can’t beat my true devotion.’

Cecilia’s sinister thoughts.

‘Does Master really need more than one woman?’

Leah couldn’t understand his mindset.

But…

‘I don’t want to be abandoned…’

Hans was family—the only one who’d helped and raised her when she was worthless.

‘But sharing him… especially with Cecilia… is unbearable.’

(Though Cecilia felt the same.)

But at this rate, she might end up sharing him with all three: Cecilia, Scarlet, and Mia.

‘I hate sharing…’

Which woman would willingly share her love?

Seeing no one in the Hero Party willing to give up Hans, Leah despaired.

‘If Cecilia and I team up… we could eliminate the others.’

With luck, they’d monopolize Hans—just the two of them.

After all, she and Hans had lived together.

‘Compared to the worst case… it’s not bad.’

Sharing him with four women was unbearable.

After deep conflict, Leah spoke.

“I’ll… accept your alliance proposal.”

They were thinking the same thing, after all.
