"Okay, I got it. I’m really sorry." Wu Chengzu hung up the phone, a look of helplessness on his face.
"Was that Mr. Dong?" Chen Bei asked.
The attempt to blackmail Leng Yichen hadn’t succeeded and instead caused Mr. Dong trouble. Although the police in H City didn’t find any evidence linking the incident to Mr. Dong, an incident involving someone like Leng Yichen in H City doubled the usual police presence, making things inconvenient for Mr. Dong.
Moreover, the greatest complaint from the other side was why they didn’t just kidnap Bai Yiran, but instead took photos to create a false impression.
