Chapter 198: Thyla is a monster

Chapter 198: Thyla is a monster

The moment Instructor Natalie’s voice dropped, Thyla dashed at Yamada, throwing a seemingly feeble fist at his torso.

"Haaap!"

Yamada’s lungs expanded as he sucked in air, then swung his weapon to meet her fist.

The heavy ball-peen hammer met her small fist midair, and it was driven back.

BANG!

A noise loud enough to make the ears ring erupted from their clash.

Yamada was forced several steps back, but he was able to hold on.

His eyes widened, staring at Thyla in excitement.

"Arrghh! That is it! The challenge I’ve been expecting."

Blood poured from his lips, but he immediately wiped it away.

"Girl, you really make my blood boil."

Lifting the heavy weapon off the ground, he grinned defiantly.

"Let’s see how far you can push me!"

Suddenly, the whole hammer was engulfed in flames, and he shot straight at Thyla.

The girl’s sleepy eyes widened in alert, and she crossed her arms before her chest.

A moment later, the flat of the hammer slammed into her.

There was a hum, then a loud BANG rang out from the impact.

Thyla was sent skidding, her boots screeching against the ground as she struggled to disperse the residual force.

When she finally stopped, she took a look at her arms.

They were smoking, with her armor scorched slightly.

"This guy..."

She raised her head and glared at Yamada.

The guy was already yapping again, but she didn’t pay any attention to his words.

Dropping into a sprinting stance, she pressed her toes to the ground, then vanished.

She reappeared right before the blonde boy, her fist just a few inches from his face.

Even at such a close distance, Yamada dodged.

Her fist went past his face, while his knee rose to hit her gut.

Thyla also raised her leg, the two knees colliding with a dull thud.

They were forced apart, with her taking more steps back.

"Oh mighty! It seems you didn’t neglect your combat skills!"

Yamada said excitedly, his eyes shining with awe.

"Come! Let’s fight some more! I’m always battle-hungry!"

Lifting his hammer, he charged at Thyla.

Instead of defending, the girl decided to go on the offensive.

Her fists were fast, slamming into the hammer with force and precision.

Yamada’s arms snapped back from the recoil, but he held steady, roaring and swinging the weapon at Thyla repeatedly.

The two soon became blurs of motion, with several earsplitting bangs shooting off with each collision.

The brutal contest of strength and endurance stretched into minutes, and the other students began to grow agitated.

"Will Thyla lose eventually? She doesn’t have a weapon."

"Can’t you see? Her whole body is her weapon! Would you dare throw a punch at a flaming hammer like that?"

"Nahh, I’d rather not."

Focusing his gaze on the battle below, Apollo’s purple eyes narrowed.

’If this fight drags on any longer, Thyla’s ability would lose its effect and she’ll be entirely powerless.’

There was also a greater worry on his mind.

Gaga, Sebastian, Liam, Austin, and now Yamada?

They were all tough opponents, and would be obstacles on his journey to become Class-A.

However, Apollo wasn’t one to be afraid of challenges. His purple eyes glistened as he watched the intense battle below.

’Everyone that opposes me... I will crush.’

Meanwhile, Thyla was beginning to panic as she fought against Yamada.

Although the boy was injured and spurted blood every time they clashed, he never stopped.

It was as if he possessed endless stamina and endurance.

’Could that be his ability? And all this strength is merely natural?’

Thyla’s eyes shook, appalled.

’I can’t lose this match. This is probably the last defining duel between our class and Class-B. I have to win.’

Gritting her teeth, she caught Yamada’s weapon as he swung it at her.

The boy was surprised, expecting her to punch back instead.

Gripping the weapon tightly despite the fatigue in her arms, she smashed it to the ground.

Yamada stumbled forward, not expecting that move.

His grip on the weapon faltered slightly, but he didn’t let go.

"Girl, what are you tr—"

His words were interrupted when Thyla kicked the side of his face, sending him reeling sideways.

Some students gasped at the sudden cruelty, but Thyla didn’t care.

In her mind, winning was the only thing that mattered.

Yamada was forced to let go of his weapon, and Thyla immediately followed up with a swift punch to his gut.

The boy folded, his spine creaking as he spat blood on her armor.

Thyla didn’t stop there.

A flurry of punches and kicks rained on Yamada, turning him into a punching bag.

An uppercut ended it all, causing him to fall on his back, barely conscious.

Thyla panted heavily, her fists covered in blood.

The fight had taken a huge toll on her, and she was struggling not to fall unconscious.

"Class-C’s Thyla Dickson wins!"

Instructor Natalie cheered, though it seemed more perfunctory than natural.

Yamada was carried away for treatment, while Thyla also followed.

She needed to treat her wounds and get some rest too.

"That was quite a bloodthirsty match! I’m excited to know we have such amazing students in this academy."

Giggling to herself, Instructor Natalie glanced at the list in her hand, then called out the next person.

"Oh? This is interesting. Thyla Dickson! It’s actually your turn now."

Thyla paused, her drowsy eyes widening as she looked back.

She still needed to fight? Right! She was the only one from her class who hadn’t gone down to choose an opponent.

’Damnit! I’m going to lose.’

Dragging her weary body back to the stand, she glared at the Class-C box.

"Ugh."

Reluctantly, she dipped her hand inside and pulled out a card.

She read the name with a frown. "Jose Maverick..."

A startled gasp rang out from the Class-E section, and the boy hurriedly stood up.

After seeing her display of power, he was very scared of her. Who would want to fight a girl that could knock him unconscious with one punch?

"Aiyo~! Thyla, you don’t need to worry. You already fought two battles and you’ve gained the rights to transfer this match to another student. Do you want to do that?"

Instructor Natalie smiled, a look of curiosity in her eyes.

Thyla’s eyes locked onto Jose’s expression, and she shook her head.

Instantly, her fatigued expression disappeared.

"No need. I’ll handle him."
