Chapter 195: Beaten Down
Chapter 195: Beaten Down
When Logan rose again, his gaze had turned feral.
Saliva continuously dripped from his maw, and he growled furiously.
The whitish part of his eyes were turning red, and he seemed to have become a deranged beast.
He lunged at Kaiser, swinging wildly like a true beast.
Kaiser took quick, calculated steps back, keeping himself out of the lycanthrope’s range.
’He has gotten faster.’
Kaiser noticed, raising a hand to block Logan’s paw.
[Dhårm??? Fûlæ### +§ sᢢ."]
The cursed whisper assaulted his mind again, but it barely affected him.
However, that tiny effect proved detrimental.
Logan became even more wild, grabbing Kaiser’s arm and lashing out ferociously.
Kaiser barely defended himself from the barrage of attacks, and he was smacked into a training equipment, smashing and denting it.
Pushing his hands against the ground to rise, a heavy metal bar snapped from the chain holding it, falling right on his head.
Bang!
Kaiser’s vision swam, blood pouring down his face.
’Ah...’
His head ached, and he was filled with the urge to just fall and relax.
Slowly, he rose to his feet, locking eyes with the beastly Logan.
He was too close.
Logan’s claws pushed against his hands, pinning him to the wall.
The next moment, he bit on his shoulder.
The Nullweave Carapace held against his monstrous canines, but it was being dented.
Kaiser stayed still, his eyes slowly regaining clarity.
’So much trouble...’
His limp arms moved, grabbing Logan’s wrists and pushing back.
His whole body screamed pain and exhaustion, but it wasn’t overwhelming.
Prying himself off the wall, he locked Logan in place, then kneed him in the gut.
The silver-furred beast was instantly thrown back, taking several steps before it could balance itself.
Without pausing, Kaiser reached out, grabbing his fur and climbing onto his neck.
His face bore an expression of conclusion. The lycanthrope’s fate was already sealed.
Kaiser hugged Logan’s neck, his legs and arms tightening around it.
Instantly, the beast choked, falling to the side and flailing wildly.
Kaiser tightened his grip, his face expressionless as Logan struggled beneath him.
His grip continued to constrict, with Logan’s struggles slowly ceasing.
’Almost...’
Kaiser looked into the beast’s eyes. It was growing unfocused.
Finally, just a few seconds before the boy’s heartbeat truly stopped, Kaiser released him.
He stood up, looking at the limp beast with an empty gaze.
’Will you rise again?’
Logan responded with a twitch of his toes.
Kaiser didn’t hesitate.
He raised a leg, then smashed his heel against Logan’s skull.
There was a wet crack as a portion of the skull cracked, and all movements seized from him.
Under the dim lighting, his size began shrinking, losing his bestial form and returning to a human figure.
Seeing this, Kaiser turned around and walked towards Kiera.
The girl had regained consciousness and could move, but she barely had any strength.
Her red eyes locked on the blood on his face, and she gulped involuntarily.
Kaiser ignored her expression and sat on the ground, resting his back against the wall.
There was a tired look in his blue eyes.
Dismissing his armor, he removed his watch, then stretched his hand to her.
"Drink."
He closed his eyes, expecting her hungry bite in a few seconds. However, none came.
Opening his eyes, he turned to her. She was studying him with a confused look too, as if she couldn’t understand something about him.
"Why?" She asked softly, "Why are you doing this?"
Kaiser blinked, perplexed. His tone remained flat.
"Doing what?"
Pushing herself so she could sit up, Kiera looked at his wrist.
"You’re injured, tired, and weary. You helped Logan. And now, you’re offering me your blood. You remain very distant, yet you do all this. Why?"
Indeed, she was right. If Logan had transformed in his room, bursting out in the open and attacking students in the dorms, he would have been killed by the school authorities before they even recognized him.
Yet, Kaiser had taken it upon himself to restrain the beast. To Kiera, it made no sense.
"Ah... I see." Kaiser facepalmed. "You’re misunderstanding it."
"W-what?"
"Restraining Logan isn’t a selfless service. I have something to gain from it."
He explained, his voice even.
"As for you, I’m only allowing you to drink from me because your luck granted you such an opportunity. Also, I find it convenient using you to wear down that mutt. I am no good person, Kiera."
Hearing his explanation, Kiera’s imagination was shattered, and a frown graced her lips.
"Ugh. Fine."
She forced herself to her feet, her knees trembling.
"You’re using me, right? I only get to drink your blood because I was lucky, right?"
She took a step closer to him, her red eyes burning with intense emotions.
"Fine. Then I will use you as much as I can before my luck runs out."
She suddenly collapsed on top of him, locking her arms around his neck and straddling him.
Kaiser’s gaze darkened. "Huh... pathetic."
The next moment, Kiera’s fangs sank into his neck, clamping down with enough force to make him wince.
Then, she began to suck.
Slow at first, then at a faster pace. His blood flowed into her mouth in torrents entering her system and revitalizing her.
’What the hell... is wrong with her...?’
Kaiser thought as his face grew pale.
Although his blood regenerated at a faster pace, he still felt uncomfortable.
There was a rising, heat in his body that made him begin to sweat.
A simple word echoed in his mind.
’Lust?’
It wasn’t impossible. No one could escape natural body stimuli.
However, one could at least control it.
Actively suppressing the heat, Kaiser raised his hand to pull the bloodling off him.
"Kiera, that’s enough."
The girl didn’t answer. Instead, she grabbed his hands, overpowering him, and pushed them to the side.
’Curses...’
For the first time, Kaiser got frustrated. The fight with Logan had drained him, even if only temporarily.
The cursed whispers of the Nullweave Carapace had also exhausted him mentally.
He was barely keeping his mind together.
And now, Kiera seemed hellbent on draining him of all the blood in his body.
’This is really... ugh...’
He took a look at her hand pinning his, and he realized she was sweaty too. It seemed he wasn’t the only one being affected.
’Huh...’
