Eternal Freedom's Ascension

Chapter 187: "Shit!"

Chapter 187: "Shit!"

Kiera dove in first. Her movement was smooth and fluid, streaking straight at Maya.

With Liam’s condition weighing on her mind, she wanted to immediately eliminate this weak-looking girl and go check on him.

Maya’s eyes narrowed, and she immediately swung her weapon.

Kiera was forced to halt in her tracks, the blade of the scythe narrowly missing her.

’Oh? Looks like she’s not that weak.’

Clenching her fists, she decided to use some of her biological advantages.

She suddenly pivoted to the left, moving at a speed too fast for Maya to observe.

However, even then, she was met with the tip of the scythe pointing at her face.

Her red eyes widened in surprise, and she immediately retreated.

’What the hell? How did she react to that?’

Maya turned to her, a confused expression on her face.

’She’s that fast? If my ability hadn’t passively activated, I would have been knocked out by her now.’

She immediately got even more serious, directing a serious stare at Kiera.

Perhaps because she had read so many books, she could easily read the impatience and irritation on Kiera’s face.

’She wants the fight to end early?’

Before she could ask why, Kiera’s figure blurred again.

Maya immediately grew alert, lowering her eyelids until her eyes were almost completely closed.

Although this narrowed her vision, it allowed her to catch sight of Kiera’s blurry figure.

Clang!

The scythe was swung, blocked by Kiera’s gauntlets as she crossed her arms.

The force of the blow sent her skidding back slightly.

Frowning, Kiera glared at the girl. ’This strong? Now this is getting annoying.’

Before she could take the initiative to attack, Maya did.

She took a few steps forward, then spun the scythe skillfully.

Kiera raised her hands to block each strike, even pushing the weapon aside a few times.

Suddenly, the floor beneath her shifted, and she almost fell to the ground.

Looking at Maya who was responsible for this, Kiera’s eyes darkened.

’Annoying. She has affinity for earth element?’

Planting her two feet on the ground firmly, Maya glided towards her again.

Her movement with the scythe was fluid, and seemingly inevitable.

Kiera was always wary of the blade, since her armor wasn’t that strong.

However, as the duel continued, the silver-haired girl began to grow frustrated.

She was barely able to do anything—even with her superior speed.

With the ground beneath their feet, Maya no longer needed to run. She simply glided on the ground, as if she were on a skateboard.

The girl’s weapon also kept Kiera at a distance, ensuring she didn’t come close while keeping her on defensive.

The battle was dull, but also frustrating.

"Tch."

Clicking her tongue in displeasure, Kiera decided to activate her ability.

’Blood Manipulation.’

Although the name was grand, its current capabilities were meager.

With her ability, Kiera could only boost her own physical prowess, heal her wounds more rapidly, or stop her wounds from bleeding.

As her heartbeat sped up, she felt a surge of strength filling her body, her blood flowing faster and faster.

Her pale skin instantly became flushed, and a faint blush appeared on her cheeks.

Noticing this change, Maya was confused and alert.

Why did it seem like her opponent was... intoxicated?

However, Kiera’s eyes remained sharp.

The moment Maya’s scythe came close, she easily parried it away.

Without hesitation, she zoomed in and dug her fist into Maya’s stomach.

The girl folded slightly, grunting as she was forced back by several steps, almost falling to the ground.

Her face distorted in pain, but she didn’t remain idle.

Holding her weapon tightly, she stared at her opponent, then glided towards her again.

Kiera clenched her fist, then punched the ground before her.

The powerful punch sent out a shockwave, disrupting Maya’s movement and making her lose control over the element.

However, the pink-haired girl wasn’t flustered.

She immediately jumped into the air, the curved blade of her scythe aimed at Kiera’s torso.

The girl immediately crossed her arms, blocking with her red gauntlets.

This time, she wasn’t even pushed back. Instead, she grabbed the weapon, then tried prying it from Maya’s grip.

Unsurprisingly, the girl pulled back, a light frown on her lips.

’Trying to collect my weapon? I’d be at a disadvantage!’

Seeing her struggle, Kiera felt gleeful, a little grin on her lips.

Suddenly, the weapon she was pulling got dismissed, making her stumble backwards.

"What?"

Her face immediately turned red, realizing she had been fooled.

Maya had deliberately lured her into thinking she was struggling, then simply dismissed the weapon.

’Cunning bitch!’

She gnashed her teeth in anger, hearing the mocking laughs of some Class-C and Class-B boys.

Fueled by rage, her eyes turned blood red, and she abruptly charged at Maya.

Still in the process of resummoning her weapon, Maya was caught off guard and received another painful punch to her gut.

"Aghk..."

She grunted, feeling as the intense pain shot through her.

’This is enough. I... should surrender.’

Just as she raised her head to look at Kiera, a fierce kick slammed into the side of her face, sending her tumbling to the ground.

Gasps rippled through the audience as they witnessed Kiera’s brutality.

Seated beside Hazel, Kaiser’s relaxed expression twitched slightly.

Hazel didn’t notice, but Ariel did.

’That confirms it. He indeed has a bit of attachment with Maya. Sigh, everyone has their weakness, I guess.’

His green eyes moved back to the stage, showing no emotions.

Even after kicking the girl in the face, Kiera wasn’t satisfied.

She stepped closer, then reached out to pull her hair.

Suddenly, she froze. Her whole body trembled as she broke out in cold sweat, feeling like any slight movement would lead to her demise.

’What the...! Killing intent?’

The killing intent felt familiar too.

She stiffly turned her head to the source, locking eyes with Kaiser.

He had his chin rested on his palm, while his bangs covered his left eye.

His exposed right eye which was barely open, however, made a chill run down her spine.

’Why is he...?’

It was at that moment that it clicked. Maya... was Kaiser’s only known friend.

’Shit!’
