Chapter 181: Battle at Dusk

Chapter 181: Battle at Dusk

Standing before them with a fearless smile, Adela’s eyes curved in amusement.

The instant she spoke, the atmosphere turned heavy and oppressive. It was obvious from their expressions that she wasn’t welcome.

"Ah? I feel pressured. Did I do anything to warrant such hostility?"

Batting her eyelids pitifully, she pouted her lips.

Hazel remained calm, but her gaze was cold.

"You’re aware that all classes are in a situation where harmonious conversations cannot be held. Kindly leave now."

Adela blinked, her coy smile returning.

"Oh, my bad."

She tapped her chin with her fan, then leaned towards Ariel.

"I wouldn’t have come if this pretty boy hadn’t drawn my attention."

Her statement caught everyone off guard, temporarily dismissing the heavy atmosphere.

’A pretty thoughtful trick.’

Ariel thought, turning to look at her with the best confused expression he could make.

It failed. His facial muscles barely twitched.

Seeing him look at her expressionlessly, Adela was a bit surprised, then intrigued.

Turning to Hazel, she asked in a polite tone. "Can I borrow this gem for a minute? I think I need to know him more."

Hazel was about to instantly decline when Ariel spoke.

"I’m sorry, but I’m eating at the moment."

Before anyone could say anything, he unwrapped his chopsticks and began eating casually.

Adela was further intrigued by his calm reaction to everything. Still smiling, she brought out her phone and shyly placed it before him.

Tucking a strand of her lilac hair behind her, she asked.

"Can I get your number, so we can talk later?"

She really looked like she had a crush on him.

’This is trouble.’ Ariel frowned inwardly.

Knowing she probably had hidden agendas, he typed in his phone number with one figure incorrect, then gave the phone to her.

"Thank you! Don’t ignore my call when you see it, okay?"

Giggling, she pocketed her phone and walked away.

"Tch. She must be so bold, coming here alone by herself."

Kiera scoffed, a displeased expression on her face.

Adela’s confidence made her uncomfortable, and she instantly disliked the girl.

Opposite her, Ysabella smiled wryly. "Don’t say that. I’m sure she’s just attracted by Ariel’s exquisite handsomeness."

Involuntarily, everyone turned to look at the boy. Although his silver hair and green eyes with a soft, serene expression made him look like a girl, he was indeed very attractive.

"Huh. But Kaiser is way more handsome."

Kiera blurted her thoughts, then realized she had said it out loud—too late.

"Err..." Ysabella’s smile froze, and she took a sneaky glance at Liam.

What was his reaction? Jealousy? Suspicion?

To her disappointment, Liam only seemed to be thinking.

"Well, I can’t say. Kaiser looks more... I don’t know the word. Meanwhile, Ariel looks... enchanting."

Realizing that the purpose of the meeting was becoming vague, Hazel cleared her throat.

"That’s enough about who’s prettier. Let’s continue."

.........

The thirty minutes break ended, and the students hastily returned to the Arena.

"Welcome back, precious cadets~"

Instructor Natalie’s voice echoed, giving them a thrill for the upcoming matches.

"We’ve had several wins and losses, and now we’re continuing into the second part of today’s session."

Bringing up the list, she smiled.

"Alexander Pierce from Class-C, it’s your turn~!"

The pink-haired boy stood up from his seat, then sauntered to the stage with a fearless grin.

Standing before the Class-C box, he dipped his hand inside, wiggled his fingers playfully, and pulled out a card.

Staring at the name, he called out with a whistle.

"Class-E trash, Logan Fang."

The other students were astonished by his brash insult, and the person addressed was even more infuriated.

Logan jumped from his seat, landing safely on the stage with a roll.

Standing up, his red eyes burned with anger as he stared at Alexander’s cocky expression.

"Heh! You’re a brute, aren’t you? We’re the perfect match."

The boy ripped off his sleeves, displaying his densely packed muscles.

Logan cracked his neck and took off his jacket, throwing it to the ground.

He took a glance at Hazel, remembering what she had told everyone before the break ended.

’If you can’t win, try making it a draw.’

He flexed his fingers, then curled them into fists. Raising his hands, he set his gaze on Alexander.

’I will win!’

His red eyes sharpened. The next moment, they attacked each other without waiting for Instructor Natalie to speak.

Their kicks collided midair, forcing both to recoil.

Grinning, Alexander rushed in with a series of punches that Logan dodged smoothly.

Grabbing Alexander’s fist, he pulled him close and dug a punch into his solar plexus.

However, this also gave room for the pink-haired boy to land a neat punch on Logan’s face.

Alexander folded inward while Logan stumbled back.

They immediately recovered and attacked each other again.

A kick to Logan’s neck was blocked with his arm, and he counterattacked with a punch to the boy’s thigh.

Grunting, Alexander stomped the leg on the group to disperse the lingering force.

"I’m going to bury you."

Rushing in again, they exchanged sharp punches, knocking each other’s jaws and sometimes adding kicks to the combo.

Logan struck Alexander’s chest with a kick, but the boy held onto it without moving an inch.

Grunting, he forcefully threw the leg down. His heel snapped upward—cracking against Logan’s jaw.

The kick made his head ring as he stumbled back, destabilized.

Alexander didn’t let the opportunity waste and immediately rushed in, throwing heavy punches at the disorganized boy’s body.

Logan barely blocked any of the hits, his head still ringing.

Internally, he kept repeating one word.

’Win! Win! Win! Win! Win!’

Like a charm, the word snapped him back to focus, and he threw an instinctive punch that struck Alexander’s face.

The boy stumbled back heavily, his nose deformed and bleeding.

Logan shook the blood off his fist, then activated his ability.

His muscles bulged slightly, becoming denser and firmer.

Alexander’s expression turned into a scowl, and he also used his ability.

Silver fur spurted all over his muscular arms, and his ears elongated slightly.

Shaking his head, he refocused his gaze on Logan.

"Round two!"
