The meeting was rather mundane after that. Lind learned the Eternal Blossom Sect wanted to learn his secrets in a way but by him teaching the younger generation rather than direct trade.
It actually made more sense. The farther along someone was in cultivation, the less flexibility they had with changes to their techniques they could pull off.
Arts could be improved dramatically with his theories but the foundation of their cultivation would remain the same.
It would take some time to setup the sermon, so he was allowed to take up some quarters. There was a simple cave not far from the central tree of the sect. He wondered what had made that cave as it seemed well settled but did not belong to the plains of the area.
There was no aura or other scent left behind at that point but Lind let the girls settle as he took up the lotus position in the sunlight outside.
The grass was only knee high but felt like silk to his skin. It was not normal grass at all. He actually did not recognize it but could perceive that there was strong earth Qi flowing up from the roots.
Light Qi danced along the bladed edges. The 2 elements did not normally go well together but plants were the exception. He enjoyed the show as he slowly confirmed the grass itself was grade 3!
The roots made the entire area improve as a group. He saw the roots enclose a core! Like beasts, plants develop a core but he had never seen a group do it!
The Celestial Fields were broadening his horizons but he enjoyed and did not notice his harmony was lining his body.
Emerald Qi began to fill the air and all the mottled plants strained to pull it in! Sunlight was normally the primary desire of plants but his Qi became superior to it.
As the plants absorbed it, the black splotches, no matter how dark or large, faded instantly!
Lind only became aware of it when the very core he was examining had his harmonic Qi in it!
He looked around and saw the plants were flush with life and vitality. He smirked as he closed his eyes and examined the process.
People needed harmonic tempering to cleanse them and aether beasts would be the same, but plants could absorb his Qi directly.
He actually studied the process and frowned. While actively absorbing his Qi helped, he saw that as soon as he cut off the flow, the taint would return.
It was slow, but steady as it damaged the plants once more. He tried a few different approaches but the issue was how plants worked. They pulled in normal carbon dioxide, sunlight, and nutrients from everywhere like all plants.
The tainted Qi was everywhere so even though his harmony purged the current taint inside, the nature of living contaminated them once more.
Unlike Delenn and his own body that could purify the taint actively, the plants gained no such ability.
He then had a thought.
He brought out several materials from his ring and felt Haro was looking curiously at his work. His ring spirit had been intentionally quiet but he could feel he was getting a bit bored.
He brought out an elemental crystal of each element. There was no such thing for Celestial Qi but he would not use it anyway. The taint and that Qi were at war on a basic level from what he could tell.
Demonic crystals stood out but he arranged them with their counterparts in a circle. The last thing he did was focus on his hand as he had not done in years. Unlike before, he let his harmony run wild as a harmonic crystal solidified in his hand.
It was only the size of his palm but the aura was equal to the grade 7 crystals he was using.
Fire was warm to the touch but the feeling of Laws was clear to his senses. The same was true of the other 11 crystals. His harmonic crystal felt different. It was like pure Immortal Qi but the Laws were completely absent.
Only 1 Law was present.
He smiled as he could comprehend more of it but it was still too large for him to fully even get a basic picture of it.
He placed the crystal in the middle of his impromptu circle. The plants nearest it became almost painfully vibrant just being in its presence.
"Let's see if this works." He began to weave sigils and connect them between the various crystals. He was not only doing that, though. He also began to Forge the crystals at the peak of his skill.
The 2 professions blended together and finally he felt something connect in his mind. He saw traces bond to the crystals that he Forged together until a disc was formed from the light of the Qi.
He felt very tired but smiled as it slowly rose into the air. The 12 elements began to circle around his harmonic crystal until it grew smaller to a point he could almost hold it in both his hands like a giant beach ball.
The emerald light suddenly flared and filled the area as he had hoped!
The Qi of the air, sun, and even the earth was ripped up before being returned purified. That was not all, however, as the taint could not combine with it!
In range of the floating focus, the taint could only retreat! He saw it slowly vanish until the entire yard was full of happily waving grass and bushes that were vital and full of life!
He turned his Eyes to the core beneath the earth and saw something unexpected!
It was glowing with emerald Qi that was spreading not just up the roots but into the earth itself! The grass was tempering the earth!
He found the process fascinating! He was observing it when he heard footsteps come closer.
He looked up to see Felicia looking around in awe. Her eyes were wide and she very gently felt the blades of grass between her fingers.
"It is pure. It is amazing!" Her golden robes stood out as she sat down and simply basked in the purity of the air before slowly looking at him in wonder.
"Maester Cord, how is this possible? I have never felt the world without the taint before!" Lind smiled but then pointed at the floating emerald ball next to him.
"I would not get used to it. I am experimenting with a few things and it turned out better than expected. Once the Qi runs out, the taint will return." She slowly nodded but looked at the swirling crystals before shock flashed over her face.
"Demonic Qi! How did you get those to work?!" He did not answer but simply smiled and she grasped he would not talk about it yet.
"Come to the sermon and I will explain some of it." She nodded swiftly and they both observed the purified plants around them. Lind resumed his analysis and was stunned at the changes he was seeing.
The earth was being transformed by the root system of the grass as the core spun the elements of earth and light inside it!
He had some inspiration but more experiments would be needed. He set up some artifacts to examine and record what he wanted to study later.
Sorcha came out with a tray and steaming tea that the 3 enjoyed while Felicia worked on consolidation of her foundation with the pure Qi in the air.
She quickly consumed nearly two thirds of it and had to stop as the taint began to show up once more.
The focus lasted the rest of the day before crack was heard. It was not the elemental crystals but the harmonic one that broke.
He was surprised but would study it later as the weaving ran out of Qi and broke apart entirely. The crystals were depleted but in good shape. The robust crystals were now very fragile.
As he examined them he noticed an oddity. The taint was not returning!
He quickly spread his aura and found the earth around them was actually shimmering with his harmonic Qi still! It was still working on the soil and the plants were cycling it through their roots, leaves, and trunks.
He measured the flow of the taint against his own harmonic Qi and saw that while the plants were slowly being corrupted again, the soil was resisting!
"Interesting." He found a bare patch and scooped up some soil to study later. The jade vial was stoppered and put into his ring.
The girls were cultivating peacefully but he stood up and examined the cavern. Sorcha had set up several cots but he noticed a padded one that was likely for him. He smirked but quickly swapped out the basic ones for far more comfortable ones.
He then summoned out ores, stones, and other materials he wanted to observe after the focus had done its work.
As expected, the materials he had brought up from the lower layer were completely unharmed! They seemed to sit happily for most of the day before the simple stones began to show dark flecks!
"So, it can be purified for a short time but then it will return. In less than a day too." He sent his aura outside the cavern and checked to see that everything that had enjoyed a pure day was also being corrupted once more.
Lind made some notes and began to plan the sermon he would give. He was imprinting a jade slip when his instincts suddenly spiked.
A dragon was really in the sect and he felt it! His eyes narrowed but he did nothing else. He would see them or he would not. He had enough on his plate for the moment to not include his status as a True Lord.
Lind focused on his plans and kept an eye out if the dragon came closer. He would see all the various races soon regardless. He had his own goals for giving the sermon and he would not let himself get distracted from that for the moment.
