Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 937 - 936 - Power of the Founder

Chapter 937 - 936 - Power of the Founder

Abby was sweating buckets as she was taken out to a field with 4 of her cousins. They were all from Grandmother Sora's lineage. Statistically, she had the greatest number of family members, and her grandchildren easily outnumbered the rest.

They all were also very arrogant due to the fact they were so numerous in the Clan.

They also had children of their own in even more numerous amounts!

Abby had heard many of her cousins had multiple partners like the Founder but she still had none! How was she in contention for being the heir still?!

Why was he forcing her to continue?!

She had never directly asked again but he seemed to know if she tried to intentionally fail. The trials would force her to complete them honestly. How could giving up not be a failure?!

It was as she lost herself in the segments of life she was living that she noticed the changes.

Victor had always been a bully but one day she easily circumvented his antics with barely even trying to use her elements. She was able to catch a Star Tier off guard while still only being a Sky Realm!

She noticed new ways to not only harvest herbs and crystals but found she understood how her elements could be applied more actively to nurture the source or garden they came from!

The final change was strange dreams. She was flying through the sky and when she couldn't upon awakening covered in sweat, she felt supremely frustrated.

She could go to a mortal realm to fly if she wished but it would not be worth it. The sky was her own. The 6 moons had been there with twinkling stars in numbers she had never seen before!

What was she seeing?

Things had changed though, when it was announced they would be facing the final trial suddenly. It was 35 years early!

"You are really going back in?" The voice pulled her out of her thoughts. A lean young man was smirking at her and his voice had been mocking.

He was one of her rivals afterall. He was Sebastian. One of the best candidates and the other 3 seemed to be of the same mind.

They had been actively discouraging her but she ignored them. Sebastian had nearly black hair but if the sun hit it, it seemed to glow with red in it. He was a master of dual wielding daggers to an extent few had ever demonstrated.

His sister was behind him but her hair hid her face. She was a slippery one as she specialized in support rather than offense. She was an elixir master swiftly approaching the peak of grade 5 and some signs of Heaven grade 5 as well!

She was a waif but anyone that believed she was weak would be broken in half by her power! She had expert control of darkness and earth for gravity but became an elixir master despite a lack of fire element!

The other 2 were men but it was hard for her to tell them apart if not for their hair styles. One had a braid down his left side with the right side shaved and his brother was the reverse. They were a rare set of twins.

They were also perfectly balanced if they fought together or could mirror each other if needed.

Offense, defense, or support, they were able to do the same as the other with fire, water, and light at their disposal. They were at the peak of the Sky Realm yet followed Sebastian because they preferred to choose a leader than be leaders.

They had come so far because they said it was all about mirroring what they learned but Abby knew that was not enough. There had to be more.

She sighed but said nothing. Engaging would get them nowhere as they were waiting for the start of the new trial.

"You don't want to be here so just walk away. You know your place as a simple gatherer, so get to it." His voice grated on her but she ignored him. Her nose suddenly picked up a faint scent that made her summon a vial and shatter it.

A cinnamon smell filled her nostrils as surprise crossed Sebastian's face.

"You have a good nose for a human. My ancestor at least pursued strength and found my grandfather, a powerful snake. With our dragon blood, we are stronger and faster than you pure humans." His disdain was clear but she ignored him.

His face flushed but before any could prepare to fight, the air cracked open! It was very different compared to before.

They had always walked into a room never knowing if it was the real room or not.

Now, a space of swirling darkness beckoned but without giving them a choice, all 5 were pulled in by a force they could not resist.

Abby tumbled but used her bracelets to conjure platforms of darkness and flame that she got her body under control.

Once she got herself oriented, she was shocked at what she saw. A mountain rose impossibly high into a storm.

It had 18 suns burning around it and at the center was an emerald jewel.

A throne was at the top of the mountain but she only glimpsed it before she was sent hurtling down!

The black sands greeted her but gouts of flame turned them to glass as she controlled her descent.

She looked around and saw all 4 of her rivals were arrayed around her. The twins were roughed up a bit but ok. The other woman was in the worst shape but stood strong despite how weak her body seemed.

Sebastian had a nasty gash on his arm where he clearly helped his sister land, but all 4 stared at Abby in shock.

She was the weakest but came out the best?!

[You should not be letting yourselves get distracted.] A blur of emerald appeared and sent her flying. She had barely stopped the attack by absorbing the force into her Qi Art but still felt her organs nearly burst doing it!

She had no time to check on others as the blur came back at her again!

How were they supposed to fight an Immortal?!

She had her bracelet crack as a massive flame sent her flying to the side. She held nothing back but sacrificed her artifacts to do it! She wanted to be stronger but for the moment, she wanted to survive.

"YOU FORCED ME TO BE HERE, SO DEAL WITH THIS!" She summoned a sphere that lit up like a sun between her and what she assumed to be the Founder.

A dismissive snort was all the warning she had before the sphere was vaporized.

[Power will not win, nor will skill. You have only what I gave you. Defeat is inevitable.] The voice was distant and not at all how she recalled when meeting him.

"Then what was the point of 65 years of torture?! Were we just passing the time for you?!" True anger swelled in her chest unlike anything she had felt before. She was angry at the Founder for the trials.

She was angry at her parents for forcing her to go. She was angry at the derision, the snide comments, and most of all, she was angry at herself.

The real reason for her anger was clear to her at that moment as defeat loomed over her.

She wanted to win! She did not want to be the heir, she did not care about that. She simply wanted to prove she was worthy!

A searing pain filled her body as the black sands blew away from her. A force tore through her body, foundation, and soul but she did not run from it.

A roar that shook the heavens finally did what nothing else could. The emerald blur was sent flying as laughter filled the air.

[Finally, you are awake.] The other 4 were revealed covered in blood and barely alive. He had fought all 5 of them like they were nothing to him but Abby had sent him packing!

Her body was bleeding from all its orifices and shedding its human skin!

The putrid smell was enough to put off even an Immortal but Lind stood on high as he smiled as the true test could finally begin.

Abby slowly settled down before she felt the changes in her body. She was still a humanoid but now her skin was black and red scales with her hair all fallen out. Her foundation had also finally solidified and become explosive in its growth.

She was a peak Sky Realm.

[Now that all the candidates are ready, we can begin.] The 5 were in miserable shape, even with Abby feeling stronger, she was hollow. A bloodline awakening did not grane immediate dominance.

A cultivator had to master their new form and balance it. Abby looked up exhausted as Lind smiled down at them and pointed up the mountain.

[If you wish to be the heir, climb the mountain and choose your path.]

All 5 were exhausted and found they could not access their rings or other storage treasures. Sebastian's sister barely got up before she screamed and was sent out of the realm they were in.

[1 down, 4 to go.] Lind did not seem to do a thing but Abby never felt a ripple when the girl was sent out. She sighed before slowly standing up and moving forward. If it was the end, then she would see how far she could go.

The scaly limbs felt wrong but she forced them to move and began to head for the mountain. The final trial had begun.
