Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 906 - 905 - Timeless Tower

Chapter 906 - 905 - Timeless Tower

Lind felt odd. He knew where he was and his senses could even smell the damn growth of the forest but he saw none of it. He was in an isolated area of paved stone leading to a rather humble tower.

He was looking right at it but still felt like it wasn't there.

"Pocket of time? Somehow layered on top of the same space without manipulating space. How?" Many questions went through his mind but there was one thing that confused him.

He could sense a demonic cultivator but it was not consistent. It was like it flickered in and out randomly but it bounced around the tower as well.

Another odd thing was the feeling that time was not flowing at all. In fact, he could swear his understanding of the Laws of Time did not work!

What kind of expert made that place?!

He moved forward and found a new issue. The tower had no door and he found his Qi would not circulate unless he focused on the laws inside him. It was extremely tiring but led to the question why he could move around without effort.

He pushed it aside as he tried to examine the tower yet the Laws of Time failed him. Instead, he felt the Laws of Space reacting which made no sense to him.

How could a tower simply have only Space Laws?!

Why?!

He had to push it to the back of his mind as he used his ability to manipulate space to create a door where none existed before. He saw only blackness but knew there was an interior he was now connected to.

He took a step inside and felt like he had entered a new world!

Instead of a small tower, it was a massive cavern! It was full of crystals growing out of the walls and a small lake at the heart of it!

It was bigger on the inside!

"Dimensional Laws and Space Laws but Time was removed. How does this place exist?" He then understood the issue with sensing the demon before. It was not flittering around, it was simply moving in a vastly larger space and where it intersected with the exterior.

He was able to use his aura more effectively but it was still taxing until he found the demon once more.

It was far away! At least 200 meters! How big was the interior?

He could not spread his senses as far as he was used to or he would exhaust his Qi. He moved into the cavern before he dodged to the left. A spear slammed into the rock and cut into it like a hot knife through butter!

It was a peak mid grade 7 weapon!

Acid and poison flowed off of it but he ignored it. He tried to find the source but the demon still seemed far away until he grimaced.

"An illusion!" He adjusted his aura and found the far sensation vanished into the ether and a shadow broke down to reveal a demon with wild eyes. He could not tell if it was a man or woman due to the malnourished nature but he could certainly feel the Shard Tier aura!

The spear then glowed before returning to their hands! An expert use of momentum had the demon swing around and launch the spear faster but Lind was no weakling!

He transformed one of his arms and let the tip pass only to clamp down on the shaft. Yet he was shocked as blood was drawn from the shaft itself through his scales!

It was razor sharp!

Still, he endured as the spear came to a halt. The demon's crimson eyes went wide and it screamed at him in an animal-like voice. Had they lost all their sanity?

The spear tried to leave his grip but the final shock came then. It was not a Law! It was a Forged spear with a spirit in it!

[Spirit, your master is lost but I want to help. I need to calm them, will you help?] The spirit resisted but he was a master Forger and made spirit weapons expertly. He was not the ultimate Forger by any stretch as he had far to go but still, his expertise let the spirit know his skill.

[Haro!] He called out to his ring and a wave of aura washed over the spear that made it go still. The demon jumped around in its rags and was clearly going to attack but the spear then vibrated.

The demon froze and tilted its head but then shook it before vanishing to his eyes.

He only had a split second warning before he was sent sailing across the room. How was a demon so strong?! How was a demon stronger than a dragon?!

A Shard Tier was strong but Lind was on the same level and he had all 18 elements to boot so where did that power come from?!

[Master, that may not be a demon.]

Haro suddenly spoke up, but he had no time to talk as a fist cracked his ribs!

He quickly hopped off the wall and ignored the pain as the very clear demon to all his senses kept coming after him. The spear was just in his hand but at least it was no longer trying to be called back.

[Master, it is important you listen. That is not a demon. It looks like a demon and has demonic Qi but it is not a demon. It is a demonic aether beast.]

That caught his attention and he focused on his sense of smell. He picked up a few unpleasant smells but the being in front of him shocked him.

It was not a demon!

It had demonic Qi, lavender skin, and even eyes that would be associated with demons but a beast smell came through! He could not place it but he flared his bloodline.

Normally, it would bring most beasts under control or afraid of him but instead he was kicked like a ragdoll!

What was going on?!

[Master, that creature actually hates dragons. You cannot intimidate it!]

He wanted to argue but was not given time. The demonic beast suddenly had its fingernails grow longer into talons.

Frustration boiled up in him but he changed tack. He used his Laws to bring Time back to the tower.

The instant that happened, the creature leapt back screeching.

He was able to place it at that moment!

"A demonic phoenix!" Kora was a roc and had issues with dragons but compared to a phoenix, rocs were happy to hang out with dragons!

He could still intimidate rocs as well with his divine bloodline. A phoenix would only get more enraged with him.

[Not quite but close, Master. It is a phoenix but it had been contaminated by demonic Qi during its rebirth. It has been driven insane due to that.]

He did not see the difference but it was moot as flames suddenly appeared around the phoenix. For the first time in a very long time, he felt threatened by flames!

[Do not try to defend those flames, Master. Phoenix flames can kill you.]

His instincts told him that already. He conjured his own and emerald met violet. The air distorted where they met but his senses screamed at him that was even more dangerous!

He rolled to the side and the rocks aged before his eyes! Yet, despite the destruction being so devastating, it was restored back to its original state. He narrowed his eyes at that.

"Time does not pass here. How long can a phoenix live at the Shard Tier?" He asked as he dodged new attacks.

[Like dragons, phoenixes can live extremely long lives but even they top out at 6 or 7 million years unless they are like you.] He nodded but could not evaluate his target. They were fighting too fast for him to get a proper scan of them.

"Any ideas?" He had very little experience fighting a phoenix.

[Normally, if in neutral territory, it is possible to back off, but in this case I do not know the context. Demonic Qi is corruptive to them but it can contaminate at the moment of rebirth. It needs to be purged to calm them down.]

A tired sigh came from Lind but he had only one choice.

Celestial Qi flared all around him which finally made the creature stop in place. He took the chance and slammed them into the creature.

It screamed in pain as the demonic Qi was refined back into natural Qi. Poison became air, acid turned to water, and shadow to darkness. The next 3 elements were swiftly converted but then the body purged in front of him

The lavender skin became a pale shade of crimson and gold mix. The hair became flowing reds, oranges, and yellows. The eyes were golden now as well.

He now saw it was a woman but very slender and the rags on her simply fell apart. He quickly covered her as the spear rejoiced in his hand.

Lind released his hold and nearly collapsed. His body was heavily beaten up and his Qi was exhausted. His Laws felt weakened as well.

For such a primitive fight, it had taken nearly all he had to survive let alone win!

He let the spear go and it quickly returned to its master's side. He tried to summon some elixirs but he could not get his Laws to make the spatial transfer work.

The blood loss and Qi depletion sent him crashing to the stone floor and darkness closed in.
