Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 896 - 895 - Seeding the Future

Chapter 896 - 895 - Seeding the Future

Kyren still remembered the desperate placement of people into the suspension caskets. She had been one of the last and felt the Qi thinning at a stunning rate.

{There is no time to argue. I chose you and it was approved. Go!} Her master, her grand uncle, had practically shoved her inside the last casket and sealed it before she could even say goodbye.

She had no idea what was happening but all the Immortals had suddenly panicked about something. They did not explain but had quickly drawn up lists with a hard limit at Gold Tier.

Many tried to argue for others to be named but her master and the other peak healers harshly shut them up with their power.

Even though some loved ones were put in, they only seemed broken.

Now, she saw only 4 of them had survived. There were hundreds of the caskets at varying grades across the city of Rasker, but only 4 of them lasted over over a million years. The great Immortal beast had explored the city and found nothing else.

Ruins and crumbling structures were all that remained of her home.

He was joined by his companion who came down in a wondrous vessel from the sky. It looked nothing like the flying artifacts even peak experts used for long journeys. She had been graced to ride a few in her short apprenticeship.

She looked at Julia, almost 7 months pregnant with Master Theo's child. She had not been his only wife but she had been the most supportive of them. She took no fortune nor power for herself.

She simply supported Master Theo over the years and they fell in love. His other wives were displeased at first but then Julia kept working and did not try to take a slice of their riches.

The only time Julia felt jubilant was when she found out she was pregnant. Theo had been overjoyed as his other wives refused to bear him children. They simply held too much power in the alliances to break off the marriages from him.

She had been very careful and made sure to be checked up regularly. Her master had joked that Theo had become a mortal again grinning like an idiot and boasting about his soon to be born daughter.

She was sad that Theo would not be there to greet his daughter.

The 2 children she was less familiar with but the girl looked similar to Mistress Katan. She was an expert alchemist that worked with her master to make very difficult healing pills.

Her name was Rylie.

The boy was a mystery but he recognized her so he had to be a child of one of the masters or mistresses of the city.

She had met many and it was hard to recall the youngest ones like he was. He was Hylan.

They had made a space for them to have shelter but she was shocked at how incredible Immoral Lord Frey was with manipulating materials. He was a Forger as well as an elixir master! That was very rare!

The young woman with him was very powerful but Kyren was not sure if she was human either.

A few days passed when an even more powerful aura she had not felt in a long time swept over them.

The children whimpered but Lord Frey smiled and looked to the sky.

"It has been a while, Soltara." A gorgeous woman with a voluptuous figure descended. Her skin was all colors of natural Qi shifting all the time. She had never met one but her master had taught her what such a being was.

An Elemental! A solid body meant they were at least a Sliver Tier but the power she felt was clearly in the Shard Tier!

The woman smiled and pulled Lind into a hug! He was a tier lower than her but she greeted him as an equal?!

Even though his skill was sufficient, most cultivators still kept a distance between cultivation levels.

Why was a Shard Tier being so friendly with a weaker being?

"You have been busy and I understand you are exploring too!" He nodded at her words and Kyren was left floored as they talked like old friends!

A beast and an Elemental did not usually get along to her knowledge.

"I am just glad you could get here so quickly. How is Lady Esmerelda?" Soltara smirked as she brushed her hair behind her ears.

"She is so happy to have more of us up here and our race is thriving thanks to you!" Kyren watched it all and began to grasp that great Immortal Frey was more important than she realized.

It was after a short conversation the pair turned to her.

"Kyren, this is Lady Soltara. She is an Elemental as you can see. I was wondering if you would be willing to let her help you with an idea I had." She was floored by his words!

"Great Immortals, I am only a World Realm! I am in no position–" She saw Lady Soltara chuckle which made her stop speaking.

"Young woman, Lord Frey is not belittling or trying to trick you. It would be best if you took him at face value. It will save considerable time. I promise I take his words just as clearly." Kyren bowed before thinking on her answer.

"I am only an apprentice. I am far from making decisions regarding the future of Rasker, or rather its ruins." She saw Immortal Lord Frey smile gently before Ilyria smiled wide.

"Kyren, Lind wants to help you rebuild. He finds value here. Further, he is considered an expert in healing himself." Kyren already knew that as she had seen how he cared for Julia. The very pregnant woman was much better now.

"What do you want me to do, Lord Immortal Frey?" He frowned at her address but ignored it.

"I know the records of old of this place and you have been entrusted with the legacy. You will be the new founder if you wish to be. I respect what you want to do. I will help with that as well." Kyren felt tears sting her eyes before she quickly took control of herself.

"Surely you would be a better choice to lay the foundation for this place. You are an expert elixir master and also a Forger. I can give you our legacy to build up!" It was only logical but Immortal Frey shook his head.

"I have my own methods but I am not the only answer. I have studied a few things and realized some insights on my own. You were trained in the basics and can build on that. There should not be a single power in charge of this but we can be allies. I will help you rebuild." Kyren felt her chest tighten.

She knew cultivators were greedy and not easily able to support each other without obvious benefits. Still, her master had shown her that some existed with honor and integrity too.

Her body nearly fell but Rylie caught her. Hylan also was nearby to help her but she waved them off.

"What do you want me to do?" Lind smiled and turned to Soltara.

"We will become your guardians. We are adept at all elements, obviously but the Frey Clan will be your allies. They have members looking for a place to thrive as well but they will be subordinate to you." Kyren was stunned. She was getting a backer but they were not going to take over at all!

"So what should I do?" Lind smiled and pointed at the jade slip in her hands.

"Become a master of that slip and teach others. There are many looking for a place to be but for now, I have friends looking for a home too. You will be the leader here and they will learn from you once you master it. Until then, they will rebuild the city here." Lind bowed to her and she felt no deceit in his words.

"What about the others?" She looked at them. The children had some potential but that was not why they were saved. It was a bit of luck and their connections. Still, they had the right to live in the city they were born in.

"I only ask that their wishes be respected. I will build a teleportation platform once more here and there are friends that can help. I would ask you not to delve too deeply into their origins but they will help immensely." Kyren considered his words but really she had no choice.

"I will be happy to accept help." Soltara smirked as she knew Kyren still did not believe.

Kyren then spent the next few days working out what was going to happen exactly but she noticed the ash being collected by Lind at the same time.

Soltara spoke of her race and another one that had golden skin but she had never heard of such a race before. Still once Lind set up the array once more, they began to arrive and were stunningly beautiful.

They were not human but sat in on her lessons of the basics she could teach to them and they began to help rebuild the city. More solid Elementals began to arrive for the same reasons but they disdained staying and clearly would not remain once the job was done.

Julia gave birth a month later to a healthy little girl. She wept openly for likely many reasons but Kyren wept as well. The new baby marked a beginning. Rasker would rise again!
