Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 893 - 892 - New Guardians

Chapter 893 - 892 - New Guardians

Nylea had been alive for 10 billion years but she could not recall anything like what had happened just then.

A guardian had defied the Oaths and let his arrogance lead him to a path of oblivion.

"Lind Frey, eh? I will remember you." She carefully sat on a simple stone seat in her hall. She had no need for garish decorations or to flaunt her clan.

She closed her eyes, only one of which worked, to reach out to the relevant contacts for what came next.

[Shale Clan and Divine Soul Clan will need to pick new candidates for True Lord trial Inheritances. Divine Soul Clan, contact the title holder as he is at the end of his life. Shale Clan, your guardian acquitted themselves above and beyond their duty.] Best to start with compliments where deserved.

Lind Frey did not know his history was clear to her. It was like she had lived his life but it was just an eyeblink to her.

Still, he had a very colorful life and the hand of Fate was clear despite his feelings about it.

[Lady Nylea, my clan put forth our honorable son. Why were you involved?] A sniveling man wiped the smirk from her face. She loathed clans like the True Fire Clan.

[Your member violated the Oaths and was removed from their role by the spirits. Your clan will compensate the True Lord if he reaches our realm.] She enjoyed the sensation of indignation and shock.

She then broke the connection before contemplating what to do next. Normally, the clans involved would simply choose new guardians as she had requested from the other 2.

There were further complications due to the Fiend scheme to refine a whole realm!

That revelation shocked her more than anything else!

She tried to pierce into the Celestial Fields but frowned as her aura was cut off. If not for the direct result of the violation, she could not seem to sense it at all.

How was such a level of power possible in a simple Immortal layer?

"Those kids have underestimated the vileness of the enemy. He has a long vision we all underestimate." Nylea dismissed her investigation as it took considerable time for the trials to be made.

Further, the 2 clans that had her approval would be able to reach her when the time was right.

She began to go down the list of candidates for a new guardian on the final test when more annoyances popped up.

[Lady Nylea, why have you accused the honorable True Fire Clan of violating the Oaths of Trials? You have provided no proof and that is a serious accusation.] She almost wanted to slam her head into the floor.

It would be less annoying than the fool bothering her.

[I am the Guardian of Mortality. Unless you want to experience it yourself, bother the spirits instead of me!] The connection broke suddenly which told her the idiot knew he was poking a hornet's nest.

She went back to going down the list of clans before one caught her eye. They were a very ancient clan but not well integrated into society due to their nature.

She concentrated until she found them and watched them for decades before deciding to contact them.

[Prismatic Fang Clan, I have a request.] She sent out her words to their leaders and waited.

They knew who she was, they all did.

It took a century before any response came.

[Lady Nylea, I am the Clan Head. What do you require of us?] Humility and respect reached her but the delay made her somewhat curious as it seemed like they debated a long time before responding.

Still, she pushed her questions aside.

[A True Lord Inheritance trial is needed. I have chosen your clan to create and designate the guardian. Will you do so?" Creating a trial was a huge honor and many clans would sacrifice their entire next generation to get it but Nylea was stunned at the quick response.

[No. Please convey my well wishes on the next clan.] She narrowed her eyes as the surprising response. It was not a matter of their clan culture but something she did not understand.

She contemplated what to do before an idea took her.

[Please observe the current True Lord and tell me if you would reconsider?] She then sent the entirety of Lind Frey's trials and results. She withheld his life as only Trial Masters had any such privilege to access that knowledge.

Another thousand years passed before she got a response.

[We will accept guardianship.] They then broke the connection but she smiled.

It took close to 2 millennia but she resolved the issue of new guardians. She then checked the flow of time to that Celestial Field and frowned.

It was slow! Far slower than anything she had ever encountered.

Something was very wrong down there!

Lind felt a shiver down his spine for some reason. He dismissed it as they came down the mountain side before encountering all 5 Ash Monks.

They all wore the same robes but Lind noticed their belt cords were slightly different. Bal had on a simple white cord while the other had other colors Blue, green, silver, and gold that seemed to denote an ascending order in them.

"True Lord Frey, congratulations on completing your last trial" The one tied in gold was a massive man with no hair on his scalp. He was extremely well muscled.

Lind narrowed his eyes as none seemed to have realized what happened.

"Thank you. I am leaving." He felt no desire to linger but he recalled their innocence so he at least warned them. "The Inheritance has collapsed. It is gone."

He then swiftly descended with Ilyria in tow.

His cold words left them shocked but they made no move to stop him. The volcano was going dormant by what Lind could feel the once more complex Laws that a Divine Inheritance pulled in were no longer present.

He slowed down as he saw the general population. The 5 monks should have known better and acted accordingly but the rest of the temple was far more innocent.

He could not give them back their purpose, but he could at least act like an adult compared to the guardian that failed them.

"Ilyria, I need your help." She looked at him oddly but then followed him to the first open square in the temple grounds at the base of the volcano.

[I am going to create a harmonic crystal lattice. I will infuse it with my bloodline and I would like you to do the same.] She instantly grasped what he wanted to do.

He began to engrave and Forge right there to the shock of all the dragons present. The profound waves of Qi coming off of him was like nothing they had ever felt before!

A delicate network of jade and crystal began to form at the center of the square. There were no statues set up at the center but there had been a slab to allow people to sit if they wanted to eat or relax.

It was just a simple square for wares to be traded to visitors to the temple, but now it was being transformed!

The glowing web of threads thickened until he seemed to finish weaving. Sigils flared before sinking into the whole network. It did not stop there as crystals began to form that none of them had ever encountered in any record!

Flames seemed to flicker inside them but they became the size of a human's fist before arranging themselves into 2 structures. One was clearly a ryuu type dragon but the other was a tortoise!

"Now!" Lind then cut open his hand and allowed some of his blood to drip onto the dragon while Ilyria used her own blood on the tortoise.

The harmonic crystals flared while the pair assumed a lotus position to concentrate. Slowly, a profound feeling of duality became apparent between each of them as the harmonic crystals transformed and had an ethereal shape enclosing them.

An emerald dragon took form with 3 horns and massive limbs on the one side while a black shelled tortoise of legend appeared on the other.

The pair slowly stood up and looked tired but smiled before turning to the crowd.

[Your guardianship of the Divine Inheritance has passed. However, I leave you with a new purpose. We have left the bloodline imprint behind in this lattice network. It is not invulnerable but it is here to guide those that can discern the Laws from us. It will grow as time passes until one day it can no longer be contained.] A jade slip appeared in his hands. [I leave you with instructions on how to monitor and regulate it to extend it for as long as possible. In the time you have left with it, expand your horizons and grow!]

The 5 monks hovered above were in shock once more.

Each of them could feel a level of bloodline power far above anyone there! Beyond that, they now had access to the Divine Black Shelled Tortoise bloodline! It was very pure too!

It would possibly allow a new race of dragons to be born! It also gave them a close tie to that race without making a pretense. The 2 divine bloodlines had rarely been at odds unlike the other 2 associated with them.

The 5 monks bowed low before Lind returned to his ship and flew off with Ilyria into the distance. The storm he had left behind was only just starting but any doubts that may have been felt by that part of the realm were squashed harshly.

Lind Frey was the True Lord of Dragons!
