Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 714 - 713 - Surprising Results

Chapter 714 - 713 - Surprising Results

Princess Shea was not bad.

She could be bubbly and chaotic like a normal 10 year old but for her lessons were serious as he had her start with grade 1 herbs and beast cores.  It went about as good as his first attempts.

She was nearly purple in the face as she tried to force it but he assured her it would just take time.  Lind had seen those that tested very well for elixir master still struggling to start so it was no issue at all.

Her weaving, on the other hand, was stunning.

Compared to his own start, it was like she was born to weave!  She blew past grade 1 like it was nothing!  Still, she hit the peak hard at mid grade 2 as she understood the dangers.

Still, he taught her the exercises to do to polish her soul strength and power.  He gave her a few elixirs too to help her body.  The high impurity reading was not unusual given her age and current cultivation.

As he spent a few days with her, the results of the first real testing came to him.  He was smiling as he went over it.

[Out of 1215 subjects, a little over half were in the mid to late Body Refining Realm but they had to start over due to quality.  There were 300 bloodlines found of faint to low quality.  There were 150 of high cultivation ability and 1 excellent.  There were 250 alchemists, 300 refiners, 100 formation masters, 50 elixir masters, 27 Forgers, and 73 Weavers.]

It was better than he expected.  Only a little over 400 had no profession result at all but he did not make such results absolute.  It was laid out to re-test once each person broke through to the Soul Realm if they had no result previously.

The ones that had a result were very high in affinity was all, even in the mortal body.

Lind gave a few orders and the various halls and guilds were made aware of new apprentices coming once they were trained up a bit.

There were a few standouts, however, that drew his eye.

[Impurity:  Peak]

[Cultivation Potential:  moderate to High]

[Age: 8]

Lind was curious how the 3 with physiques also had massive impurity in their bodies.  They were all pure mortals also because of that.  They would need a tempering bath or elixir to start their cultivation journey.

The Golden Body was actually one of the more common physiques to encounter if you lived long enough.  Highly efficient muscles and bone strength closer to refined steel as well.  The girl had never had an illness despite being mortal.

Once she began cultivating, she would need 2 to 3 times the resources to progress because her body would take a large portion of her Qi to increase its power.  A body cultivation technique would make it better but the resources would not lessen too much.

He had a few ideas to help but weaving and elixirs should help reduce her resource consumption due to their nature.

The Shadow Body was quite rare.  As its name revealed, it leaned towards darkness and earth elements but needed a lot of light Qi to advance the body.  The light Qi was absorbed to make every cell saturated until a technique could be used to purge it like an impurity.  The skin would become almost invisible if done properly.

The innate skills would also let him blend into any shadow but also tap into some spatial skills few others could.  He would be able to use certain kinds of shadows to move as if he was teleporting in the early stages and later he actually would!

It was entirely possible he could awaken a formation master skill set as part of his growth.

The last girl just blew his expectations away.  His tools had found 2 bloodlines inside her!  He had to look up in the library to confirm the details of her physique.  It was a strange one.

The first part came from the fire leaning races in her body but the last part showed she had the ability to have a body like metal.  Like his body gained scales and could breathe fire, she might actually have an innate ability to not only control fire but to thrive in it!

She had no profession alignment yet but he again highly suspected she could in the future.

They were the first batch to really use his artifacts and the results would pan out how accurate they were.

Shea had her lessons set up so he set aside time to meet these 3 new disciples to their program.

Lind now sat in a small meeting room with Shea on his left as 3 young children were led in.  Lind noted the maid also snuck in that he had yet to learn the name of.  Shea looked guilty which told him she had not been as free as she stated.

The tiniest child was a girl with dark blonde hair.  He easily identified her as the Golden Body as she had downed food more than any other but was rail thin.  Food was not enough and she would suffer issues if she did not start cultivating.

After that, the other girl was in much better shape but looked fearful as her dark red hair only went down to her neck.  Her eyes were wide as she saw him across the room and ducked behind the other girl!

The boy was doing better but Lind noted his shaking legs easily.  All of them were in plain woolen shirts and pants with soft shoes.  All the children had been given the garments as part of their arrival.

He had heard the baths had been full of giggling and small water fights but nothing bad.  He was glad they had fun.

"Welcome.  I am sure the 3 of you are wondering why you were chosen out of all the rest."  Lind looked them over and let his words sink in but the dark haired boy raised his hand.  Lind smiled and nodded at him.

"Cuz we had words in that first line?"  Lind nodded but then frowned.

"You cannot read it?"  All 3 shook their heads and he sighed.  Shea turned crimson but it was not her fault, she was 10.

"Shi, please add basic reading, arithmetic, and writing to the basics."  Lind spoke into his bracelet and it flared to acknowledge she heard him.  He had overlooked that.

"My apologies about that.  Yes, you are right.  You 3 have physiques.  They require special training and effort to work.  At first you will lag behind but once we reach a certain point, you should be able to catch up with or surpass your friends."  The 3 looked confused but seemed to grasp he was telling them good things.

"He is saying he will help you!"  Shea piped up which finally made them smile.  The 'tsk' from the maid had Lind glare at her.  Shea was being helpful!

"Princess Shea is quite right.  I am going to initially help you overcome a few obstacles but first the most important thing.  What do you 3 want to do yourselves?"  His question seemed to really confuse them so he tried a different track.

"I am not going to make you cultivate at all.  Save that girl there, you 2 are free to simply train in what you wish as you wish.  Your physique will obstruct any cultivation but not the rest of your lives."  The dark blonde girl looked back at him but she did not shrink from him.

Lind then knelt down to be at their level.

"I am not making you decide right now.  I am not going to do more than tell you what you can choose.  You still have to contribute but how you do so is up to you.  Now, before we part ways, I am Emperor Lind Frey.  What are your names?"  Lind had purposefully chosen to introduce himself when they were calmer but the red haired girl just hid more.

"I am called Sa.  I have no other name."  The boy spoke up and Lind nodded at him.  He looked at the 2 girls.

"I am Teela.  She is Ruby.  She does not like you."  Lind smiled and waved it off.  He then pointed to the 2 guards.

"Shea, please reassure them and tell the guards where to take them."  The Princess had been visiting when she was between sessions.  The guards knew where they went but he wanted them to see Shea being involved.  It was someone close to their age that they had gotten close to on their journey.

The 2 left. Sa took Ruby's hand and they left quietly but the boy looked excited.

"What is wrong with me?"  Teela, despite being the youngest and smallest, was much brighter than expected.

"Nothing is wrong but your particular physique is already working against you.  Without Qi, you will be lucky to live to 20."  Lind was blunt as she was.  She seemed to appreciate that.

"What do I need to do?"  Lind merely smiled and pointed at himself.

"Cultivate at least to the peak of the Body Refining Realm and break through to the Soul Realm.  Once you have the ability to absorb elemental Qi, you will be able to live a relatively normal life of your choosing."  She seemed to understand but then looked up at him.

It was only at that moment that he saw her dark eyes were actually also a very dark gold.  The name of the body became clear to him.

"Will it hurt?"  Lind did not smile as he sat down in front of her and looked her in the eye.

"It will be very painful, more than you can imagine.  I will be there and do what I can but it cannot be avoided."  She seemed to finally react like the little girl she was as she turned pale.

"You don't have to decide now but you do need a diet change.  At the very least you need to start Body Refining Realm to handle it but it will help.  Take your time."  Lind was about to leave when her tiny pale hand grabbed his robes.

"I will do it. My–my–my mother died in front of me like her body ate her alive."  Lind frowned and patted her head.

"I promise, that will not happen."  He meant it.  Her issue was easily resolved but it took a lot of pain to do it.  He then took her hand and led him back herself as the maid followed him.  He clearly could not avoid that meeting next.
