Lind was cooking. It had been a very long time since he had done it himself, but he had insisted on doing the cooking that evening.
Lua and Fey were helping set up a large table as he hummed an old show tune as he felt happy.
He had just spent the last 5 years running around like a chicken with its head cut off but finally, things were settling down!
Applications to set up towns and villages were still flowing in but the nearly 3 million Immortals made his life a ton easier as they knew how he liked to work.
All of his wives were also at the castle at long last and he wanted a family dinner. His mother was coming in from the newly established Starfire Pill Hall. Lady Estelle had passed away a long time ago but an old friend had rushed over after the battle.
Mythra was alive!
She had been missing an arm that he quickly healed but she was the last of the few surviving members of Starfire House.
It was not all good news, sadly, as by definition she had lost the most important person in the world to her.
Lady Su had died a few centuries ago. Mythra had become a bit colder but Lind saw her smile at least when they reunited.
He realized many of his old friends that had not ascended were likely dead unless they were in the Heaven Realm. He made a point to check in on them.
In any case, the old city she was set up in had been wiped out in the latest attack so he happily welcomed her and the supply chain to his old mortal realm was welcome!
They also put out feelers for other survivors but they were likely low level members only as Mythra had been essentially in charge for over 100 years after getting Lady Estelle's approval long ago.
The lucrative deals with the Moebius Sect and its clear trust of her sealed her future. The former presenter aether child had come far!
The smell of rich peak Heaven Realm beast meat filled the room along with a few vegetables he included for spice as well as nutrients. A few aether beasts had tried to horn in on his territory and did not take his warnings seriously even knowing he was a dragon.
It showed how the wider world was not as compliant due to the Fiends making all desperate to survive.
"Master, what is this?" Lua pointed out to a cooling dish that bounced like liquid but was still solid.
"It is called pudding. It is simply a treat for later. Trust me." Lind had not known how to make it before, after all instant pudding and jello was all his old life really knew, but pudding existed in the cultivation world.
Depending on ingredients used, it could even reach a point that Heaven Realm cultivators could enjoy it and benefit. It had a few tricks to it but Lind was pleased how it had turned out.
He had simple vanilla and chocolate. The latter was his own creation as the concept of chocolate was not widespread. Honey based sweets yes, but not chocolate.
It took him a few months to get it right before he was happy.
Tal finally popped into the room.
"Papa! They are coming!" Tal still called him the childish version but he loved it. She ran to him and looked wide eyed at the food. He looked at both Fey and her with a small smile.
He had heard how the battles and terror had made them cold to others but since his return, they had been laughing and hugging him.
"Grandma Mira is bringing Grandma Firella." Lind smirked but only nodded at the report. His mother already knew a piece of news coming tonight. "Oh, Illyria is being dragged over by Ethry. It was hilarious!"
Lind smiled wide. Illyria was working too hard to advance but she was doing very well. She already exploded forth in her cultivation to the very peak of the Sun Tier with his guidance.
Before too long, people began to file in. Shoti swayed across the room and kissed him deeply. She had been on the border setting up the official checkpoints and defenses with Cyntilla, Annabelle, and Ethry.
"I am home!" Lind felt a little giddy as his nose itched with something.
"Welcome–" Lind did not get to finish as lavender hands turned his head to also kiss him. Cyntilla was being very expressive. Lind also noticed all his wives heading for him. He welcomed them all.
Annabelle only tried to peck him on the cheek but he did not leave her out! Kora raced to beat Ethry to him but Illyria was tossed right at her! He rolled his eyes but the antics were welcome after the tragedy of his return.
"All of you! Welcome home and please take a seat. Food will be ready shortly!" Tal grabbed Illyria and they took a seat while Fey and Lua helped him As they were setting out plates of food, his mother and mother in law arrived.
Lind was glad to see some of his treatments had repaired the scars on Firella's face and body. She had been experimented on and even he had to unravel all that had been done to her. His mother and Fey had done a lot, but the elixir masters were not as experienced with complicated issues like her.
"Mothers, welcome!" Everyone greeted them but Lind was once more attacked. The demoness hugged him tight as she seemed to enjoy it.
"It smells wonderful!" Lind was glad and guided her to a seat. He finally took a seat and raised a glass of Ambrosia. It was a wine made of grade 7 materials and every expensive but Lind found it was worth it.
"To all of us finally being back together after far too many years apart. I love you all!" Smiles spread on the table but he sharply notices a few not drinking the wine. Water was available as well but he had to restrain his smile.
They knew his senses were sharp but he kept silent as they enjoyed the meal. Ethry and he ate far more save for Illyria. Kora did not hold a candle to them but the rest were left in awe of their ability to store away mass amounts of food!
Once dinner was over, the pudding came out. All of the women were confused but he simply let them try it and it then vanished! Lind could have sworn he saw some fights but they occurred so quickly he was not sure!
It was just pudding!
Still, he was glad they enjoyed it.
"Lind, I think you should start." Mira smiled at him as all heads swiveled to him.
He looked at his mother a little sternly but then a vile with dark violet with golden flecks appeared. It was a grade 7 elixir!
"Due to my recklessness, I had to postpone some research but thankfully it took far less time compared to the first time I made one. Mother Firella." Lind knelt by her and put the vial in her hand. Cyntilla and the others held their breath as some became misty eyed. "You have waited long enough. Please, drink this."
A shaking lavender hand uncorked the vial and downed the elixir. Qi began to flow powerfully to her head and she grimaced in pain until 2 orbs glowed with shadow, dark light, poison, acid, and metal Qi until it stopped very quickly.
Lind waited for a bit until she calmed down and then helped her remove the eye wrap. Fresh eyelids covered her new eyes! Rather than what Cyntilla remembered, all 6 elemental colors were in her eyes!
"I–I can see you!" She touched Lind's face as tears flowed down her face. She looked around at them all and laughed as she could finally see them all! Mira hugged her and they nodded at each other.
"Before we get too lost in congratulations, would my wives like to tell us anything? Anything at all?" Both mothers instantly had a sharp spike in aura looking at them while his wives looked at him like he betrayed them!
Lind merely shrugged and waited.
"Sigh, having a dragon for a husband is annoying." Shoti was the first to stand up and then pointed at Qing. "Sister Qing is pregnant!"
Lind stared at her hard before she ducked her head at them.
"I am too." Qing poked her in the ribs but gently. The 2 smiled at each other as Lysanna looked at them in jealousy. Annabelle felt sad too clearly but smiled at them. Cyntilla fidgeted which shocked them all but her mother shot out of her chair and embraced her.
"Sorry, Mom, I did not have time to tell you before the meal when I got back." There was simply a nodding of her head as the 2 demons wept.
"Kora?" Lind made her jump before she slowly nodded. Ethry was a bit upset but she knew the issues with her body was a bit of timing but then Lind looked at her expectantly. She was confused before he sighed at her.
"You and I are different. They are warm blooded but we are cold blooded. You should feel a slight pressure below your abdomen in dragon form." Ethry quickly left the room and transformed.
A pleased roar came from her before she returned flushed in joy. It would take time for it to form, but the egg would be laid soon!
Kora was pouting after thinking she beat Ethry but it seemed they were still tied.
"So not fair!" Lysanna shouted but then Qing laughed. All turned to her and she pointed at each of the pregnant wives.
"We are not going to be able to be with Lind for months. I am not sure about Ethry but she will have to focus on the egg too so Annabelle and Lysanna will have Lind to themselves." He arched an eyebrow at that.
Still he appreciated the peacemaking. Both Annabelle and Lysanna turned crimson as Tal and Fey looked flustered. They were happy but nervous.
"You 2 will make great elder sisters. Make sure to help your mothers." Lind's words made them smile as they ran around but then Illyria joined them. She was a 'niece' in the grand scale of things so she would be getting cousins!
Lua looked a little sad as she saw them all happy until a hand patted her head.
"You should be a good elder sister too, Lua." Shock flooded her young face as she saw all the warm smiles at her before tears poured from her. He hugged her gently as she grasped him back.
His family had become far larger than he ever believed possible but it was going to get much larger in the future. He would adopt more too, he was sure, but at that moment the Frey family simply laughed and chatted with each other over all the good news.
It had been too long since they had such a time.
