Chapter 677 - 676 - Linghu's Revelation
Chapter 677 - 676 - Linghu's Revelation
He had felt so useless after being groomed to assume control over the Law Core and Law Array. He had fulfilled his task but his progress ground to a halt after that.
Lanbao had tried to help him but the plain fact was his method of learning was corrupted by Xing from the very beginning. He had been tailor made to keep the Law Binding going.
The Laws he grasped were perfect for it, yet Lind had changed that dynamic.
He had somehow introduced a new Law and altered the parameters to let Linghu keep the Fiends out! Still, he had been stuck for over 1200 years.
Now, it was like all that studying and cultivating had come to fruition as Lanbao faced a tribulation for some reason. She had repeatedly stated the bottleneck was gone but she could not take the next step due to the Law Binding.
When she suddenly broke through, Linghu was trying to reinforce the Law Binding and felt all of it via the connection. He realized he was connected to both Lind and Lanbao in a limited fashion.
His mind, so stuck on trying to advance, realized he was making it too hard. He had Laws at his disposal he felt ambivalent about. He had been pulling back from anything to deal with Xing as he hated her to his core.
Yet, if he did not move past it, he would never be more than a Sliver Tier for the rest of his life. The Law Core glowed under his hands as he fell into its complex arrangement.
He saw how Gravity Law, Restriction Realm Law, and others all flowed together and realized the only Law he could not perceive was the one made of emerald.
Lanbao had taught him there were Simple, Moderate, and Complex Laws but the Law from Lind felt far more powerful!
It was slowly changing the Law Binding! Linghu was enlightened that they had limited their knowledge so much regarding Laws. They were not absolute nor inflexible. They were as adaptable as the world around them!
His dantain began to shine as Qi and the Laws he knew flowed into the sliver inside it! The barely stable sliver began to grow! It finally began to grow!
As he was advancing his Laws, he kept an eye on the Law Binding but it settled down despite the tribulation happening. He lost himself in his comprehension as the Emerald Souls brought Lind back to his quarters in the Core Hall.
He was amused to see Lind was out once again but it seemed to just be exhaustion, yet the Sun Tier aura was getting stronger on him. It was not advancing, but becoming more profound.
"So, he benefitted as well." The attack on the Law Binding had been grasped by them both and Lanbao was somehow able to break through. Her lifespan would increase with the new Tier but the Law Core had not even a ripple on it.
The emerald Law was the cause, he could feel it but it was far beyond him. What had Lind done?
Linghu finally advanced to the mid Sliver Tier after 1200 years and felt satisfied. His power increased immensely and he noticed new things in the Law Core.
The Law of Realm Restriction was the roadblock to Immortals but he saw why. The Law Binding could not contain the power of Immortals when they were born unless they were in alignment with the Law Binding.
Lind had somehow removed that shackle to Lanbao but she had already been Immortal so it was not the same as a new Immortal. He had been able to advance but that was because Xing groomed him to replace Suzen.
He saw that loophole left in the Laws at last and understood how it worked. How could he have been so blind?
As he studied he began to frown. The Law Binding was stable but the changes were becoming an issue.
It was slow but he could see a day when the Law Binding collapsed! It was very far off, at least 800 thousand years, but that was still an issue as it might be sped up by unexpected events!
He also realized how terrifyingly fragile it was! If he died it was obviously an issue, but he found another problem.
If Lind died, the Law Binding would also collapse! He quickly reconfirmed his observation but he came up with the same result every time! An Immortal Realm, by definition, was very difficult to kill, but a Sun Tier was very easy to kill!
"Shi, get to the Core Hall with Gravis as soon as you can. We have a problem." He knew Lind was more resilient than a normal human, but he could be killed like anyone else.
They needed to address this issue as soon as possible but keep it very tight. Given Lind was asleep once more, it was not unusual to summon that pair.
He looked out at the tribulation but it was still going on. It did not damage the Law Binding so he ignored it. Likely whatever Lind did to Lanbao had made that possible.
He was about to let go of the Law Core, he felt something tremble. He quickly analyzed what he felt and anger rose in him!
Fiends were attacking again! He actively slaughtered them but was shocked at how effectively it worked. It had been strong before but now all the corpses were reduced to ashes! What was going on?!
Linghu concentrated on his task as the attacks continued on all sides, but he sneered as he understood the final piece of the basics. The Law Binding was powerful but it could be stronger!
He cultivated his Laws and made the Law Binding even more powerful by extension as he grew stronger! He focused on his cultivation as he kept punishing the Fiends.
He found it odd the tribulation ignored them but likely it was due to Lanbao facing a unique situation. It likely still took power to pierce the Law Binding but he could only keep attacking until they finally stopped.
He hoped they would give up but then he saw something odd. The originally simply emerald Law inside the Law Core and Law Array had tiny traces of gold! It was not light Qi nor was it karmic restitution. What was that Qi?
He tried to touch on it but he felt his head nearly split open to do so! Just how powerful would that have to be?!
He let go and moved back to meet with his sister and Gravis. They had much to discuss.

Lanbao reveled in her new body! She was a true dragon at last and a Shard Tier Immortal Realm as well!
She had questions but she had to consolidate her foundation first. She had been far from prepared and even with Lind's help, it was still very unstable.
As she curled up in her massive dragon body she suddenly felt a presence looking down at her. She did not understand as it was not Heaven nor Lind, so who was it?
She felt intimidated but then it vanished. What was that?!
She had no time to delve into it so she resumed consolidating her foundation and it was wondrous! She had just about felt the start of it coming together when a faint sensation of connection reached her.
[Little Sister. We do not know who you have come to be, but it gives us hope. Do not ascend. It is only death here. Live safely below and do not ascend.]
The voice barely made it to her but she knew it was from a dragon. Where were they and what did they mean?
She knew the Cataclysm had done something to the Celestial Fields but something was alive up there!
Further, it was a peak Shard Tier existence! How had they lived through whatever it was? How long had they survived?
She had many questions but she had to complete her task and would to her Lord afterwards. She also realized they had to have a serious talk about their new standings.
She then recalled the other Divine Dragon and a cold sweat broke out. Immortal or not, she had forced Lind to do something that could be considered a serious transgression!
Lanbao focused on her cultivation but she began to squirm as her instincts tried to rear their ugly head. She was supremely glad Lind was far away as her power was far above his. He would not be able to stop her!
The only thing that chilled her natural instincts was despite being a true dragon, she was still below a Divine Dragon in the hierarchy of their race. If she dared to touch Lind before her superior, her own blood would turn against her!
It was the problem with accepting Lind's blood. She was now his mate!
There were no such feelings between them but their blood and instinct would call to each other from this moment onwards!
Lanbao began to control her urges and felt normal once more but refrained from moving towards the Core Hall until Lind was awake. She could feel him even from her current position. She could tell he was asleep but would awaken as soon as he recovered enough Qi.
The fact her tail began to move more animatedly without her notice was missed but Lanbao began to test her new body and strength. She felt more free than anytime in her life and it distracted her from the future issues.
Her roar of joy made the drakes and wyverns call back in kind. A new Shard Tier of the dragon race was a reason for all to rejoice. Lanbao flew through the sky like lightning and rejoiced! She had her long held dream of becoming a dragon come true!
