Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 669 - 668 - Stone Circle

Chapter 669 - 668 - Stone Circle

Lanbao was near tearing her hair out.  Lind was awake but she could not find him!  How was that possible?!

There had been sightings confirmed and some were accidental while others were clearly intentional.  All confirmed a small girl was with him but no one knew who she was.  No power reported anything save one.

The Haven Lands had a small incident where a Sun Tier saved a mortal girl yet that was all anyone knew!  It was making her stressed out.

Linghu also could not find him as the Law Core and Law Arrays revealed nothing.  Like long ago, Lind proved he could hide if he wanted to.

It had been a year, yet the leads had dried up suddenly.

Yet, corruption was brought to light by someone!  The Emerald Souls were as flustered as her at being unable to find the man they valued over everyone else.

Certain rumors made their way through the political spectrum and all realized the Emperor was awake but was loose among them!  Fear actually made some actively purify their own ranks as his last overt act left a strong impression!

Gravis was unconcerned unlike the rest as he seemed to take the position that Lind could do as he liked until he officially wanted to come back.

Melody, now Vice-Sect Master of the Heavenly Maiden Sect, was much the same!  They all seemed to think Lind deserved to act as he wished as he had carried the burden for so long and suffered for it.

Lanbao simply wanted to be near him again.  Her instincts screamed at her to serve a dragon she had sworn her life to!

The Moebius Sect contact had been thrilled to know he was awake as well but like his friends inside the Law Binding, they found no issue with him being on the loose!  His wives even seemed amused!

She focused her energies on the old project Lind had started.

In the 700 years he had been asleep, she and Linghu had perfect the new gate technology.  Rather than creating a path via teleportation, they used 'physics' as Lind called it.

It was an avenue not blocked by the Law Binding but only recently did they understand why.  The gate used coordinates to locate an exit point and with another gate to pair it, it made a single point in space one with another.

There was no tunnel nor was there an attempt to tear space.  It seemed like it should not work, yet a few small scale tests had worked.  The amount of Qi needed was insane for a grade 6 item but it was the best they could make.

An Immortal grade 6 expert could have helped but Lind was the only one they knew of.

The other side also had none so it worked out.  Still, they found a balance that chewed up less Qi and resources but had to be made incredibly large to do so.

It had taken the better part of 3 centuries to work that out.

Now a massive stone circle rose on a platform but it still did not quite work.  They were trying to find out why it did not work but they had to be careful.

When some of the small scale versions failed, it had leveled the size of a small town when it only made an opening the size of a fist.

The current circle could allow 2 Nautilus Class sky ships to fly through it!

If it had a failure, it was like all of the Hinterlands could be wiped off the map!  It was why they had built it so far from any city although some had begun to encroach on it.

Still, there were safety measures built in that triggered if things gave even the slightest sign of going out of control.

It was that they were trying to figure out as nothing seemed to be going out of control.  What were they missing?

Lanbao came to a complex not far from the towering structure as she saw several Moon and Sun Tier experts trying to examine connections as well as the formations.  A very few weavers had finally begun to return to prominence but their strict rules kept them from progressing too fast.

If not for Lind, they would not exist at all.

Still, they were far behind what the Moebius Sect could do.  Their gate seemed to work just fine but could not connect to theirs.  It seemed like there was a disconnect they were missing at the larger size that did not appear in the smaller versions.

Thoughts about lowering the size had been discussed but the amount of Qi skyrocketed to keep it under control at those sizes.  The massive size actually was quite efficient but no one understood why.

If they went with the smaller size, it could only be used once or twice a century which was not what Lind wanted.  He had been clear it should be a two way gate for those to leave that wished and others to enter if they wanted to also.

Lanbao was reviewing the resource reserves for the tests when a young man came running up.

"There is an intruder by the gate!  A young girl is cultivating next to it!"  Lanbao moved quickly but the Emerald Souls acting as guards beat her there.

The gigantic dark stone loomed over them as they approached the base and saw a young girl with dark hair that had clearly just broken through to the Soul Realm.

Lanbao was stunned as she was clearly 5 or 6 years old!  Quite a powerful cultivator to reach that realm at such a young age.  The faint fluctuations of Qi made it clear she had just consolidated her dantian and elements.

Lanbao could sense darkness, fire, and water.  Very powerful combinations with the right Arts, but the cores were Divine!  Someone had to guide this young girl or she was a prodigy unlike any even Lanbao had heard of.

"Identify yourself or be detained!"  One of the Emerald Souls shouted which surprised the young girl.  She instantly got scared as she felt the powerful auras but then another aura slammed into them all!

Lanbao was about to fight back when she felt her blood bend to it!  Only one being could do that!

"Stand down, now."  A booming voice spoke as a man appeared next to the little girl.  He had a handsome face with long black hair and emerald streaks.  His eyes were vertical slits as emerald as his hair.

All took a knee instantly while the little girl clung to him.

"Lua, finish your foundation as I taught you.  None will harm you."  She nodded and resumed her lotus position.  Lanbao quickly suppressed all the auras around them and Lind nodded at her.

"You look well, Lanbao.  I see you kept up my idea but have run into some problems?"  Many were surprised at how much he knew about a project few had the details of.  Also, a lot had happened during his absence.

"It won't connect and the safety measures trigger as well yet nothing seems wrong."  Lind nodded as touched the stone circle.

The entire stone circle lit up with emerald light.  Any that did not know he was there now did.  Still, Lanbao felt shocked as the formations they had so carefully created were removed as he Forged and engraved it at once!

The feeling of the stone circle changed instantly from a simple grade 6 to low grade 7!  How had he done that?!

It seemed much easier compared to before as Laws were imbued into it.  Lind was clearly straining himself but he smiled as his hand came up off of it.

"It should work fine now on our end but the other side will need to be modified.  I have seen enough, but I have one more stop to make."  Lind turned as all saw the final consolidation of the young girl complete.  She was at the peak of the 1st Tier of the Soul Realm after she was done!

Even as powerful as they were, they were all shocked.

"Is that the same mortal girl you rescued from the Haven Lands?"  Lind nodded and Lanbao wanted to smack whoever tested her.  They were clearly blind!

Lind could only pull off such a feat if the person had potential.  Even elixirs could only do so much but her sense told her not a lick of elixir or pills were in her body at all!  She had been purified but that was a normal procedure for any cultivator.

"Here are the changes they need to make, please relay it.  It will likely take them some time to do that."  Lind seemed different.  He had been stressed and balancing his duties as an Emperor to his desires as a cultivator but now he looked more refined.

It was as if his battle with karmic Qi had polished an aspect not easily done, his soul.

He picked up Lua and flew off but Lanbao did not stop him as the Emerald Souls quickly sent a detachment after him.  Now that they found him, they would not let him simply slip away.

Lanbao almost felt pity for whoever was about to face him, but only a little.

"Contact Gravis and Linghu.  Emperor Lind Frey is back!"  A cheer went up from the crowd as messages began to be relayed.  She then resumed her analysis of the stone ring.  It was changed in several ways but she noticed an oddity.

The inner ring now was a movable piece.  Why?  It had been a solid ring before but now it moved until she saw the genius of it.

The spatial locations would resonate and settle as one point after another were set into it.  It would allow them to have a larger window to stop it if things were going wrong too!  How had he thought of such an elegant solution?

They went back to work and prepared for Lind's return from his last journey as a free man so to speak.
