Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 656 - 655 - Law Gates

Chapter 656 - 655 - Law Gates

"I already told you, the ascension pool is the only way in and out for certain to the Law Binding."  Linghu did not get angry but having the same conversation over and over was getting to him.

"Yet not even Lanbao can explain how I got through for certain.  By all the rules of Law Binding, I should not have arrived here?"  Lind looked at them both and both Immortals nodded.  Lanbao had far more experience in Laws than Linghu but both of them confirmed that while the Law Core was changed, the rule of no exit or entry remained.

So how had Lind come through all those centuries ago?

"The Fiends originally had a plan but we have never found it.  There were vague references to them being able to enter or leave at will, yet no Law Gates were created."  Lanbao brought up the subject LInghu almost dreaded.

When they first had a chance to really look at getting out of the Law Binding, Lanbao had brought them up.

As anything dealing with a Law Binding, it had to be pre-planned.  Law Gates, despite the name, was not literally made of Laws to make a gate but the Law Binding is designed with entrance and exit points.

What shape those took varied but the majority were portals much like a special realm.  If they are not built into it, the only way to leave was to collapse the Law Binding entirely.

"You also said communicating outside of the Law Binding would not work either."  Lind brought up a solid point.  Neither Lanbao nor Linghu entirely grasped how Lind did that.  Once Linghu had it explained, it had been trial and error to get it to work.

"Succeeding on a fairly weak connection is a far different plane of difficulty compared to making an exit."  Lanbao did not like dismissing Lind's hopes but the man smirked as he pushed a scroll toward them.

Both of the Immortals looked at it in curiosity but looked confused.

"What is this, Lord Frey?"  Lanbao could not speak as the notes were symbolic rather than words.

"I have an old friend that once explained a very real thing to me and I have proven before that those theories still apply in the cultivation path.  That, however, would be far more than imitating nature or triggering a natural response under the right conditions."  Lind then began to imprint a jade slip.

Both narrowed their eyes as they saw him lay a weaving over it before it resonated with all 3 of them.  Lind rarely used that weaving as it required understanding the soul of the person involved.

Lanbao was a lesser race of the dragons so he innately understood hers, but Linghu and he were connected when the former ascended to Immortal Realm.  The only other people he might be able to secure access for would be Ethry and his mother.

"You explained the kind of entrances a Law Binding can use as a Law Gate.  Portals, literal doors, controlled formations, and so forth as one can find in any special realm.  What you never mentioned was something I have seen Fiends do."  Lind put out a plate on one end of his desk and another plate on the other.

Neither Immortal recognized the inscriptions on either one but Linghu at least recognized the inspiration.

Before either could ask, the air rippled above the 2 plates and Lanbao felt her Laws of Space react but it was entirely unlike her own spatial tears.

She could only go for relatively short distances and had to have been there before, but the 2 plates were pulling in massive amounts of Qi for their size to open the channel.

It was only when she used her Laws that shock flooded her!

Her senses told her that while the plates had not moved, the opening above them was in the same place!  She looked between them but there was no tunnel in between them!

"H-h-how?!"  Her shock made Linghu look closer but he had a different issue.  Anything that happened inside the Law Binding should be under his control to an extent.

When Lanbao wanted to create a spatial tear, he felt it and allowed it at the same time, but Lind's little experiment felt like nothing.

"To make it simple, the 2 plates are the rough recreation of a Fiend's tear through the void but I bypass it entirely.  I essentially made it so that the 2 points connect to become one.  Here."  Lind picked up a blank scroll and unfurled it.  He then poked a hole at either end.

The scroll was then folded up so the holes lined up.

"In a very basic sense, the Fiends have been doing this very roughly between the Heaven and Mortal Realms.  I wondered if it could be done safely and in a slightly different way."  Lind wrote 'Two Rivers' on one side with 'Moebius Sect' on the other.

"That is impossible!"  Lanbao denied it immediately but Linghu simply put his hand through the opening.  It felt no different than moving through air but it was weird to see his hand appear on the other side with no issue.

There was no delay nor a feeling of stress at all!

Lanbao's method felt close to teleportation if a little less disorienting.  Labao could also see the other side but no one else could.

Lind's experiment seemed much wider in application but Linghu noticed a problem.

"Compared to teleportation, it seems to use 10 times the Qi."  Lind nodded.

"At a rough calculation, it would chew through the yearly budget in less than a day of use, but there is one piece of good news."  Lind then cut the Qi to the left plate.  Both Immortals expected the tears to collapse but it stayed open!

"Once created, so long as either end is working to actively absorb Qi, the opening will remain."  Lanbao was picking it apart but there was not even a ripple in her Laws of Space.  She put her hand in between but there was nothing!

It broke all her understanding until she shifted her mind a bit.  The instant she thought about it, she raised her 2 hands and the air began to slowly ripple in each.

She tried to replicate what she thought but the Qi requirement was massive!  She could not do it without complete comprehension but a Sun Tier had done it with 2 formation plates!

"What is that?"  Lanbao wanted to know but Lind scratched the side of his cheek as his emerald eyes glinted with amusement.

"The official term is called a wormhole.  To set it up still creates a bridge but it is not through the void.  It is through space and time."  His words shook both Immortals.  How was such a thing conceived?!

"Why have you never brought it up before?!"  Lanbao nearly screamed but Lind pointed at the plate as they both saw cracks form before a sudden wave of gravity and pressure nearly made them stumble.

The single plate still engaged was burnt and mangled but the other plate was also showing signs of damage.

"I can't solve the materials issue yet.  Further, to get it to work would require an arrangement on the other side.  The distance is unknown to me but if I can get a rough location, I can narrow it down."  Lind then sighed as he pointed at the mess on his desk.  "While the small scale can be somewhat impressive but harmless, a full scale version could cause massive devastation."

Both Immortals paled.  The sheer power involved terrified them.  How did a Sun Tier come up with such a thing?!

"What would this design be then?"  Lanbao held up the diagram that made Lind suddenly look shy.

"It is inspired by an idea others had but there were some things I found practical when I imagined how to make something I needed.  It will be a giant circle but it will need to use the special com stone to make a resonance connection."  Linghu slowly nodded but suddenly saw a scale on one side.

"How big is this thing?!"  Linghu realized another issue with that question.

"A stability issue is resolved with scale.  If it could be safely tested, I could likely make it smaller and safer but I think I am running out of time."  Lind became serious.

He then explained his current theory after listening to Ethry's latest reports.  He also gave examples of how the Fiends tactics usually worked compared to their current one.

"Even if you are correct, how can they reach your loved ones who are far from the front?"  Lanbao was practical but Linghu was on the other side.

"They are using their armies as a distraction or making it seem like they are frustrated so their enemies will make a mistake?"  Lind nodded.  Of all of them, Linghu had the most insight to Fiend thinking.

Lind was about to continue when he felt a vibration from one of his communication stones.  It was in his ring because he treated it importantly but it had been dark for nearly 5 centuries.

"Please excuse me.  For now, it is all theory and trying to solidify the idea.  Please look over my notes here in the slip and see how feasible it is."  He gave the jade slip to them and they both bowed before leaving.

Lind then cleared his worries before pulling up the jade stone.

[Imperial Majesty, I have seen many changes over the last few centuries but I still see no point in any of it.  Per my oath, I am reaching out as I no longer wish to continue. - Kin]

Lind frowned deeply as one of his concerns had been getting that message at any time but what had happened?

She had been silent all this time, yet after the mortal realm ascended, she suddenly wanted to die?!

Lind noted the coordinates before taking off.  He began to have many thoughts but the memory of that poor girl in the cave hoping to meet her father only to be left hollow that he would never get to see her again.

The scars of the Liberation War had only scarred over, they could burst forth anytime.  Lind flew off into the blue sky and hoped he could save Kin or his promise would come to nothing.
