Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 632 - 631 - Soulmancers are Scum

Chapter 632 - 631 - Soulmancers are Scum

"Destructive Lightning unleash!"  A roar came from within one of the spheres.  A black robed man with rail thin and sickly colored limbs shouted at the 3 chained humans behind him.

Lind had been slightly off.  It was not Perot that prepared for an aerial assault, but Xing that wanted to crush his army from the air with her own artifacts!

It was pure luck she had them ready but the effect was enough.

Powerful bolts of lightning danced on the skin of 4 spheres into 1 at the center of them.  It magnified the effect until it slammed into the world at their enemies.

"Die!  Die!  Die!  Die!"  The Soulmancer practically salivated as the lightning flew through the air.  Due to its nature, it was slower than natural lightning but its destructive power was a thousand fold more.

It slammed into one of the flying seed shaped vessels but what happened next left the Soulmancer floored.  The lightning encircled the enemy artifact like a shield before dispersing into the air!

"H–how?!"  The Soulmancer stumbled back but quickly slammed an array with some of his Qi.  The 3 cultivators screamed as their Qi was forcibly taken from them.  Several weavings floating in the air also activated to draw more Qi into them.

He had reduced them to batteries.

"More power, you useless fodder!  You will give me everything!"  The Soulmancer sneered as he saw the other spheres react in similar ways.  The cultivators were so useless!

He was angered he could not just reap souls but the spheres did not work on that principle.  It pre-dated the rule of the Soulmancer and none lived that could modify them.

[Prepare for defense.]

Words came through an embedded jade stone in the console in front of the Soulmancer.  He quickly modified the sigils to change the flow of Qi into his 3 components.

They whimpered but he did not care.  They were only Sky Realms.

The sphere rocked but he sneered as they withstood the attack that time.  He did not care where it came from as he saw a new opening as the ground forces charged out and met.

"Earthshock!"  He screamed at the 3 to channel the necessary elements of earth, fire, and light.  The display outside dimmed but he welcomed it.

The lightning encased metal rods shot out and slammed into the warring forces below.  He intentionally targeted his own forces to avoid it being stopped outright.  The tactic worked as blood blossoms bloomed from destroyed soldiers as the force of the rods caused havoc in their enemy.

"Target our forces below!  They will not be able to stop it!"  It was only cultivators below, there would always be more later.  The souls could also be collected later for their benefits.

He smiled wide and it sent chills down the 3 locked behind him.  They were not sure who had it worse as even if they survived the battle, their meridians were already damaged and their dantians were cracking.

Their lives were over, it just took longer to die.  The Soulmancers did not care about them at all!

Lind had scales partially spread over his skin at the carnage unleashed below.

"Storm of Scattering!"  His ship's channels lit up as did 200 others before all 6 elements combined into a cloud of destruction.  It felt terrifying but it could do damned little as the forces were all turned inward.

The attacks falling were shattered inside the clouds.  The Qi was used as fuel.  So long as the spheres tried to attack, the storm would endure!

It was a true 6 elemental Art and his design could make 3 types of them.  All of them were Storm class Arts.

"The spheres are trying to drop below the Storm!"  Lind sneered as Lian reported their movement.

"Shi, Storm of Souls!"  She looked at him in surprise but her dark eyes lit up with an evil glee as she manipulated a few sigils before an emerald glow came from the channels.  Lind added to it as sigils began to sing in the ship.

Outside the Nautilus II the area became dense with harmonic Qi that began to take on shapes many had seen before but there were many.  It was not Lind's soul multiplied but his intent.

The Storm of Souls resonated with a 6 elemental's harmony to make an actual attack out of it!  It had severe limits but peak Moon Tier gave Lind Qi to spare!

The swirling dragon storm snapped out and down below the Storm of Scattering.  Neither reacted to the other as Lind knew how to isolate the Storm Arts.

Lind was covered in sweat but he brightened up when the spheres found only death when they went below the first Storm Art.  A few dozen more went down before they went back up.

Unlike the Storm of Scattering, the Storm of Souls was limited, but they did not know that.  After they were beyond the ability to see it, the Storm of Souls slowly broke down before dispersing.

"Gravis and Lili, any wounded on either side is to be treated.  I do not care what Haim or Keera says.  I know where the true enemy is in this battle.  The Soulmancers!"  He felt it through the Storm of Souls.

The damned Soulmancers tried to save themselves by reaping the 3 other souls in the artifacts!  They also clearly used the attacks on the ground forces without care!  His eyes went vertical as his anger rose but he was too tired to do anything.

A vibrant crimson elixir appeared with glowing sigils inside.  He downed it and felt his stamina and Qi recover very quickly.

Shi took a moment to put things together before she paled.

"Xing, Xing definitely planned to slaughter us with those spheres!"  Lind nodded as he agreed.  His initial praise of Perot was left with only pity.  They were just pawns and materials to the Soulmancers.

The parallels to Fiends left no mercy in his heart.

"Those scum are mine!  All ships, prepare for boarding!"  His orders changed which a few confirmed but the demons cheered back as they wanted to have more in person fighting anyway.

Lind slammed a sigil on his right side that caused the Nautilus II to shoot forward incredibly fast.  The flying weaving and cores strained to keep the Qi above the minimum but it quickly ended with them now over the enemy army and their Storm Art.

The ship shook as Lian launched cables into the spheres.

Lind opened the rear hatch on the starboard side.

"Shi, be ready to cut the cables.  I am off."  Lind flew into the air and felt the anger of the storm below slowly weakening so he launched a few streams of Qi into it to fire it back up.  It took very little to keep it going.

Wyndam was a genius.  After describing the Elemental Sect Relic only a few times, a whole school of Arts had been born.

Lind felt the wind on his face and the ugly sphere was sadly not bad for a mass created artifact.  The formations were ancient but still going strong after who knew how much neglect.

If not for the crude flow of Qi and current issues, Lind might have praised its creator.  He did not see any opening but knew there had to be one.  The surface lit up with lightning but he only sneered as his skin turned to scales.

"You have no power to stop me!"  His claws found a purchase that told him he had found the entrance.  The inscriptions were smooth to show how great an expert made it, but Lind used his Heaven Eyes to finally see the seam.

"Everyone!  Look for an inscription of air flow Qi with earth Qi reservoir across from light absorption inlay and water dispersal path.  The hatch is there."  Lind relayed the inscriptions he saw as he knew such an arrangement would be unique.

He infused his Qi into the inscriptions but he did not intend to let the Qi simply flow.  It raged.  The inscription channels cracked and shattered before a rectangular area swung open.

"USELESS FOOLS!  I will reap your sou–"  Lind saw a sickly looking Soulmancer about to take the souls from 3 trapped young women.  They were all tier 5 Sky Realms but their foundation was ravaged!

He saw the weavings and instantly knew how they were treated!

Emerald flames roared and the Soulmancer screamed.  Unlike him, the women found they were suddenly free.  Lind had not quite thought that through.

The sphere suddenly tilted as it fell to the storm below.  He did not even pause as his massive tail ensnared the women and barely left the artifact in time to avoid the Storm of Scattering.

The artifact was happily ripped apart as the Soulmancer continued to scream in agony as he too was torn to pieces.

"If possible, all forces are to rescue 3 cultivators inside the spheres but be warned they are being forced to maintain it.  It will fall quickly."  He saw the perfectly snapped cables had fallen slowly down and nodded at Shi keeping on top of things.

"You are safe now."  Lind went back to the Nautilus II as all the spheres eventually fell into the storm below.  Screams were ignored but not all were Soulmancers.  Lind knew not all could be saved.

Still, in less than a day, their fleet one with only minor damage to the ships.  The army below surrendered shortly after.

Perot had now lost over half their army plus their true aerial defense.  Still, Lind gave his healers time as well as made some repairs on the ships.  They still had a long way to go.
