Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 630 - 629 - Nautilus II

Chapter 630 - 629 - Nautilus II

The massive fleet of ships were not, as many would assume, artifacts.  There were artifacts at work inside but they were in fact flying vessels designed by Lind alone.  The original Nautilus had been a work of art but it had many flaws.

The channels could overload, the control crystals were too easy to break, and so forth.  He had learned many lessons and now had the chance to improve it.

The new prototype, named Nautilus II by Benny after hearing the story, was his alone.  Compared to the mass produced ships, it had a lot more abilities because of Lind.  It had reinforced channels of crystal of all elements and the pedestal controls were now inlaid with grade 6 weavings that were far more durable than crystals.

Each ship's heart did need to be bound by its owner but the Qi was absorbed from the world like before, not from the cultivator.  As such, the ships would not stop flying even if the cultivator was exhausted.

Compared to the original, it was twice as big so it could easily hold 50 people.  It had a massive hold on top of spatial storage.  The reason was having some pre-made materials to repair damage on the fly was far better than having to summon it from a ring or pouch that could be lost in the chaos of battle.

It had about 12 rooms for passengers but it currently had soldiers and Emerald Souls with him.  The ship bridge was inside at the back top rear but it could be put anywhere now.

The other ships were smaller and simpler but still could carry 40 soldiers easily.  With over 1000 ships, they had blazed into their enemies.

The attacks were magnified to 4 to 5 times their strength of the cultivators alone, but took a long time to recharge if used at full strength.  Replicating Arts was better but still had limits as that did drain the cultivator fairly quickly.

After that, there were inbuilt defense and offense that could currently withstand a mid Sun Tier indefinitely and peak Sun Tier of 3 to 4 attacks.

He had tested it with the help of aether beasts who found it quite fun.  Still, they were merely the tip of the spear as the 5 million strong army was being ferried over in very different ships.

The Nautilus II was an all purpose ship but the massive shapes on the horizon had but one use, mass transit of an army.  They were like oil tankers but still could fly on their own.  They were very slow though due to the energy requirements to mass.

Still, 10,000 troops could be moved at once and with 10 such ships they could bring their army over in 5 trips.  Lind had been unable to make more in the limited time as while they were simpler the resources needed for each carrier was far more intensive than a single Nautilus class vessel.

The Behemoths, also named by Benny because Lind could not stop her, were discharging the first wave as the smaller ships guarded above.  He had put on a show for Xing but he knew she was not a fool.

Also, the empires would clearly have aerial defenses they simply had not needed on a regular basis since the Law Binding restricted all but natural flyers.

He did not care if she was aware as there was no way to hide her from looking through the Law Binding.  Mostly, he wanted to make her angry to be distracted and he seemed to have achieved that.

The forces allocated to the eastern border were completely unprepared when over 1000 ships simply appeared in the sky.  They had no way to fight back as they were bombarded by meteors, lightning, and various other Arts at a power close to Immortals.

It had likely been the shortest battle in recorded history of the 6 empires.  Even the demons were left in awe of the true power of the new ships.  Most had been skeptical of their ability to wage war but Lind knew why.

It was because of the burn out issue.  If used at maximum power, the damage to the channels would rear its head again.  He still had to solve that problem with a myriad others but his current progress was enough.

He could use them as is for the current war effort.  The main reason being they could adapt to demons or regular cultivators equally.  He looked at the display as the carriers took off and headed back to get the rest of the army.

It was not the totality of their forces as Lind did not leave things to chance.  They only brought enough to take Perot quickly before moving to Karridan.  The danger was Hilden.  It was a black box compared to the other empires.

The Soulmancers were in power there and yet there were large gaps in the knowledge about it much like Orwellia Empire.  The difference was everything was normal otherwise.  Trade had no restrictions and farming villages were not unusual.

The issue was the imperials and the nobles.  Almost no one had ever seen them on a regular basis at all.

Further, while the Soulmancers were cruel, they oddly never took anyone back to their headquarters.  It was as if they were afraid to.  It made him think the Core Hall might be there as all he had found in Requera was the old residence of Suzen and his stunningly dull records.

The man truly was indulgent but had somehow become afraid of the future the Fiends had promised him.  It was another oddity on top of all the rest.

Everything he had been able to find pointed to Suzen being an overindulged child and nothing more.

So how did such a lazy and useless Immortal suddenly alter a Law Core to attack Fiends?  Timat had simply been lucky but just as shocked at the betrayal.  He had lost all his direct forces in an instant.

From what Shi had told him, Xing was just as devastated and even just barely escaped because 1 of her thralls were inside the Core Hall.

If neither of the surviving Fiends knew what happened, the only being left that did was Suzen himself.

Lind did not know enough about Laws to be of any good at figuring out the mystery.  Lanbao was more curious but her long imprisonment left her not caring so much as why but how to be free.

It also did not much matter if they could not finish what he had started.  Knowing roughly where he was helped his plans too.  He had not hidden it from his councils either.

The Law Binding was likely deep in Fiend territory.  He had no idea how far but even assuming the best case scenario, the founding of the Law Binding put it at over a million years ago.

With what little he knew of the speed of the Fiend's advance put him beyond any hope of help from the Alliance at all.  They would simply give him up even if they wanted to get him back.

He knew what his wives would do but he could not let them endanger themselves.  He trusted them not to be foolish but he knew how far he would go to save 1 of them and they were just as deeply in love with him.

He almost pitied anyone that stood in their way.

Without further signs from him, they were unlikely to make large moves but he knew them well enough to know they would prepare to move at a moment's notice.

Lind looked out as the final round of transports finally dispersed their army.  He also felt the pressure from above once more but he pressed a weaving on a console before smiling.

"I learn while you stay still, Xing.  I am not messing around and never have."  Lind felt the shift in Qi in the air as the other ships connected to his.  Somewhere far away, Xing was likely smashing things as she could no longer see them.

Nautilus II was created for the sole purpose of negating her advantages.  It seemed the Fiends were going to learn to fear his creation once again.

The crystal Seal smashed through an entire wall like it was paper.  The stone was reinforced by several arrays but the Seal did not seem to be slowed by it.

Currently, the viewing function showed nothing but white!  It was simply blank just like the damned eastern empires!  How was he doing that without a full formation?!

It was not possible.  No artifact could produce that kind of blocking effect without a full Qi stone support system or cultivators constantly powering it.  Yet it endured far beyond any calculation she could make for such a wide area and it was moving!

"I want him dead!  I want him to burn slowly in my dantian for all eternity!"  She screamed as Linghu looked on frozen.  He had only the small pleasure of watching all her plans fall apart.

No matter what, Shi was beyond her reach and even with her gone, he simply hoped to be reborn as her brother one day.  Maybe they would have a chance at real happiness as a family in another life.

The dark Core Hall was only filled with rage and frustration as the Two Rivers Army advanced.
