Chapter 606 - 605 - Goddess of Death
Chapter 606 - 605 - Goddess of Death
Cyntilla stood over her mother in a sick bed once more. The hilts of her shortswords cracked as her knuckles cracked from how tightly she grasped them.
She had been down on her mission for the sect training disciples when the emergency summons came. She had not been told until she was back in the master tower what had happened.
Her mother had been found! There had always been leads but they went nowhere and often were mistaken identity. Her bloodline had been part of Darkmoor which had ties to Hellfire Sect.
It was not impossible relatives in her clan had ascended and spread their genes, but her mother remained elusive.
Now, a mask covered her eyes because she had none. They had been gouged out! Further, the nerves had been seared!
Cyntilla desperately wanted something to kill or for Lind to be there to say he could fix it! Mira had already done what she could and Cyntilla had sincerely thanked her.
Ethry and the others were already tracing back the slavers that had brought her there but Cyntilla simply wanted to destroy the world and be done with it.
"My Little Poison, no grandchildren to greet me?" Her anger broke as tears formed and she knelt next to the bed.
"Lind promised to remedy that when he gets back. I will make it happen!" She meant every word but where before it was a sweet dream, now it was to bring joy back to the woman that meant the world to her!
"You want to know what happened? It will only make you angry." Her mother knew her so well but she nodded as her mother's hands were on her face. A tired sigh came from her.
"It seems your father had ties to the Blood Empire and found me hiding in the Conclave. I hoped to evade him by hiding on their doorstep but they had feelers everywhere. After that, it seemed like they objected to my eyes." She touched the dark pad over his face.
Cyntilla knew who had given the order.
"After some time in a cell and little food, they changed how they treated me, but it was hardly better. They used prisoners to test certain techniques and forced my cultivation to rise." Cyntilla felt shaken.
Such experiments were more than likely to end in death but then her breath caught in the next moment.
"For some reason, they chose to try new elemental theories on me. I was already a Stone Tier and still had potential so I studied them as best I could. Compared to others, I was like a fish in water!" A laugh came from her.
"I stunned them when I quickly got to the Sky Realm! That tribulation was the first time I saw in over 20 years. Yet, they took my eyes once again." New tears formed but then confusion crossed her mother's face.
"After that it was a bit chaotic. It seems the Blood Empire eventually fell and their prisoners were picked up by slavers. I had an incredibly high cultivation by then so they brought me to the Heaven Realm. I have been passed around but it seems my ability to cultivate so well that I got to the Star Tier while blind!" Cyntilla knew the secrets of cultivators were always coveted.
Lind's way of doing things was antithetical to the normal way of doing it. Still, it had saved her mother's life!
"Eventually, I got the feeling people realized who I might be because they discussed your husband with some fear. You chose well!" Cyntilla blushed at her mother's approval. "Anyway, once they realized who I might be, they must have taken steps to confirm it and then brought me here."
It was only a few words but it skipped over the pain and suffering like she always did! Cyntilla cursed her father in whatever hell he burned in! Even dead he had made her mother suffer so!
A soft knock came and Shoti came in. Her eyes, normally so full of teasing and laughter, were cold.
"We found them." Those 3 words changed the atmosphere. Her mother's hands grasped hers tightly.
"Do what you must. You are my Little Poison and I did not raise you to be a greenhouse flower!" Cyntilla smiled wide before her face turned cold. Mira took over and the 2 spoke of how many grandchildren they should expect once Lind returned.
If any of the serious faced women heard them, they would break out in cold sweats at the number demanded.

There were many slavery organizations and they often traded with each other but records were spotty at best. Yet, members were easy to trace as they often showed up at auctions.
The 2 men Ethry fried were such idiots. Proud of their profession and assured of breaking into a new market with their 'gift,' the fools signed not only their death warrant but the entirety of their group.
The Silver Hawks were ostensibly a merchant guild operating far from the frontlines under the Divine Demon Sect. It was a vicious but pragmatic sect on the whole. So long as benefits and strength flowed, they cared little what people did.
It was something of a shock then when a prismatic scaled dragon, golden roc, and other people suddenly appeared in their skies.
The many formations did not activate right away as no clear threat was given.
A demoness strode forward in black armor and even the Divine Demon Sect wailed at her virulent green eyes. Only death was in those eyes!
"We have come for the Silver Hawks. If anyone gets in our way, you die." After that short announcement, hell was unleashed.
A whip with all 6 elements shattered several guarding posts around the massive complex of the Silver Hawks. Before anyone could react, all the defense were melted by dragon fire, sliced up by roc claws, or just obliterated by a stone dral shell!
A massive tortoise appeared when the Silver Hawks tried to retaliate and it was like using paper to attack a fire for all the good it did! The shell was untouched!
A Sun Tier from the Divine Demon Sect tried to intervene only to be lost in a maze of illusions, the sect shortly followed him!
All of that was terrifying enough but then the demoness moved with her 2 short swords. Her body disappeared and a massive wolf took its place! She was like an aether beast as the 2 swords sang in the air.
They feasted on the blood of screaming humans and demons. None could escape! A blonde woman with another slim woman and erected a barrier so quickly none had a chance!
It was a terrifyingly brutal and swift battle. What made it all the more stunning was anyone that tried to come help were stopped by a woman that was a legend in the Heaven Realm already.
The Goddess of Death! Her amber eyes were cold as her sword danced in the street. Blood flowed like rivers. Life and death were in her hands and none could deny her!
Why were all these legendary figures here? What had the Silver Hawks done?
It did not take long for the marks on all the women to be connected to the Moebius Sect. The few information brokers took even less time to figure out the shady side of the Silver Hawks dealt in slavery.
Since other organizations had simply been turned away from the doorstep, that left only one conclusion.
The Silver Hawks had enslaved someone they should not have.
The Alliance quickly heard about the attack but not even a quarter of day passed before the Silver Hawks were reduced to ruins.
It was not only there either. The other branches of Moebius Sect in the mortal realm mobilized and wiped out any branch or ally of the Silver Hawks.
When the wives of their founder gave an order, it was an edict from on high so far as they were concerned.
When the emissary of the Heavenly Maidens arrived, all she found was the smoking ruins of the Silver Hawks. There were other bodies but they were not dead, only maimed. They could heal in other words.
A simple message was carved into the corpse of the guild group.
[Touch my family again and I will kill you all.]
Word quickly spread and shocked the many organizations of the Heaven Realm. The agreement was that the Moebius Sect would be a support group only. Yet, few could argue when the truth was revealed.
The mother of one of his wives had been enslaved and tortured in experiments all that time. They should consider themselves fortunate. Lind Frey had proven time and again he had a bottom line and family was it.
When that line was crossed, it did not matter who, they would die. Altair was a kingdom but he extinguished it for what it did to him and his siblings. Other groups had failed his family and he made them pay hefty prices.
Still, those that had thoughts about trying to bully the Moebius Sect dismissed them forever. It was not worth it. Many also made a note to buy all the information on the family in regards to Lind Frey.
Even some Fiends made that note! There were some things best left unprovoked.
